Excavators are used in many ways:
Digging of trenches, holes, foundations
Material handling
Brush cutting with hydraulic attachments
Forestry work
Forestry mulching
Demolition
General grading/landscaping
Mining, especially, but not only open-pit mining
River dredging
Driving piles, in conjunction with a pile driver
Drilling shafts for footings and rock blasting, by use of an auger or

Hydraulic drill attachment

Hydraulic excavator capabilities have expanded far beyond excavation tasks with buckets. With the advent of hydraulic-powered attachments such as a breaker, a grapple or an auger, the excavator is frequently used in many applications other than excavation. Many excavators feature a quick coupler for simplified attachment mounting, increasing the machine's utilization on the jobsite. Excavators are usually employed together with loaders and bulldozers. Most wheeled, compact and some medium-sized (11 to 18-tonne) excavators have a backfill (or dozer) blade. This is a horizontal bulldozer-like blade attached to the undercarriage and is used for levelling and pushing removed material back into a hole.

Q: .an Italian excavator working in Egypt uncovered eleven well-preserved mummies in a large tomb on the west bank of the Nile River. By 1835, the four mummies that had not yet been sold to collectors in the eastern United States found their way in a traveling exhibit to Kirtland, Ohio....Believing the mummies were worth owning, Joseph engaged the assistance of a number of church members in Kirtland to purchase them on behalf of the Church.quot;-Quoted from Coke Newell's quot; The Latter Daysquot;------------------------------------------------------------After reading the part, I searched for the mummies that the LDS Church purchased. However, I couldn't find any information about what happened to them.Where did the mummies go?
They were sold, ended up in a museum that later burned down. They were lost in the fire.
Q: If so, what is your favorite episode? Also, why is that your favorite epsiode?Mine is the one that has to do with the worlds largest machines or something like that, I just can't remember the actual title. But my favorite part about that episode was when they talked about the bucket excavators. They said the largest one can hold 2 Grey Hound buses in the part that holds the dirt.
I like the whiskey episode.
Q: I remember some live-action show or movie on the Disney channel from a long time ago (roughly 20 years), and there was a group of kids who'd thought that there was a tyrannosaurus rex in this swamp, but it turned out to just be something like a caterpillar excavator. What an excavator would be doing in operation while being covered with moss and swamp much, I have no idea, but apparently that was going on in this series or movie. Anyway, it's bothered me for quite some time now... :)Anyone know what it is?
Could be Frog Dreaming from 1986.
Q: What is the capacity of the 'bucket' or 'backhoe' of a large construction excavator for commercial buildings? What is the capacity of a dump truck that takes the payload from such an excavator? I'm trying to figure out how many dump truck trips and how many scoops of earth it will take to excavate a 40m x 20 m x 4 m hole, for an apartment building construction site.
well that stuff is pretty impressive, but try cubic yds or meters etc, it might help simplify it.
Q: I was just curious how this would be done. I mean some people have ponds that are 4 acres or more on their property and I was wondering how that is achieved. I mean it's not like they dig a hole in an afternoon, grab their garden hose and let it fill up. Also how much would such a thing cost?
Well basically yes. You hire a 20 ton excavator for a couple of days and dig a big hole. Of course that might cost $100 an hour... More likely they find a natural hollow or channel and build a dam across it. Might only need to be 6 ft high to dam up quite a big area thats 2 to 5 ft deep. It can get more technical depending on the soil structure, and the level of your water table, but with our local terrain and volcanic soil structure I could give you a 4 acre pond in an hour with a decent excavator. Q: THANKS!
Being in mining industry, one should know about how the machines work. They help you make the task easier.
Q: What about sunward excavator?
The first to buy 31, service pissed me off, the vehicle and expensive, I bought 4 sets of mountains and rivers, there are agricultural, high price, Shanxi side of the service is good, what did not urge repayment so anxious, but also some small problems is acceptable, the service is also very timely. After all, the price in a car, a kind of 10 plus the quality certainly with tens of thousands of imported cars, hit number a price why spend the money, as long as the service to keep up, sunward is a very good choice
Q: Hey everybody... Looking to build an underground house of sorts. Always wanted to tackle a project like this. In Arkansas, what's a ballpark cost of having somebody dig a hole in the ground... 12 foot deep, 40X40 ft across? No transporting soil, just put it all in a pile nearby. Thanks in advance!
u need a front loader. call a excavator for estimates in ur area.
Q: I write my graduation thesis, but I don't know what the excavator work system is
The working device is the front arm and the hand claw. As for the system, you mean the hydraulic system Without the front of the hydraulic system, the hydraulic cylinder on the device is out of order, the hydraulic cylinder can not be extended, the working device can not move, the working device can not move, and it can not work!
Q: How long approx will it take a new operator (I am going to get the feel for it first, just saying no prior expeirence) to dig this hole? (8ft deep)I am aware I have to shore it. I plan on building 2 plywood/2x4 walls across the long side of the hole and connect them across at the corners, then buildthe other 2 shorter walls and attach. Will this work good any sugestions?
If you are a first time operator, you CAN'T make a hole that size, regardless of how you attempt to shore it. Keep your cell phone handy so you can call for help from UNDER the excavator inside the hole.
