Q: We have friend who's an excavator that said he'll help us make a french drain. Now, how to clean up the musty probably moldy but definitely dirty basement? It's unfinished, and really wet right now. My husband wants to spray the whole place with bleach and close the door for a week. Bad idea?
Unfortunately, that's really the only way to do it. Use a 50/50 mix though. Then there's a special paint you can buy to help prevent the mildew from coming back. I forgot what that was called though. Make sure you get as much ventilation down there as possible. Good luck.
Q: We are building a two-story garage 30 x 40. I need an estimate on how much to dig for the footers/42quot; wall, plus backfilling after wall is poured. The area where the garage is going is already level. Thanks for the help!
You will have to get a local excavator or soil engineer to help with this. The soil conditions in your area will be a big factor in determining how much soil will need to be removed. The cohesiveness of the soil will determine the angle of repose. Good luck with the project.
Q: For the longest time, my 4 y/o has called construction barricades quot;investigaugesquot;. Is he trying to say something else but pronouncing it incorrectly? Something learned from Bob the Builder or the like? I can't correct him if he's onto something I'm unaware of.
Lol. It's hard to tell where the mish mashes come from but they are hilarious. For the longest time my oldest called the millenium falcon, the vanillium malcom.
Q: Excavator construction price
Different areas, prices are different, excavator construction is usually calculated by the time, or according to the earthwork, or the number of vehicles loaded. Wait。 These are not fixed, but also depends on the working conditions, venues and so on. Your question is very general. I wonder if these can help you. Good luck!
Q: We have had our own barn for about two months..and it's absolutely lovely..except for our arena footing. It's sand, but way too deep. My horse sinks up to his coronet in it. I'm worried about possible injuries from this..especially since we are planning on jumping. If I had to estimate how many inches it is..I'd say 4-6. My trainer said to just keep dragging it with our little metal drag which we pull with a quad..but I feel like its not doing anything to solve our problem. I've tried talking to my dad to get the excavator to come back and remove some sand, but he doesn't have the money right now to do that. Is there any other way I can get rid of the sand, or spread it out so it's not so deep? Has anyone else had this problem?
It is important to drag sand arenas, but it is also important to compact them. My barn has an outdoor with sand and they drag it, then roll over it with a large metal thing (I have no idea what its called) I am going to assume that there is some sort of covering below the sand to keep from a horse sinking in (like rubber mats). I would say if the horse is sinking in the footing there is too much. *Barrel racing, cutting, roping - Deeper, thicker footing is generally preferred to reduce the stress on horses' legs. Some experts recommend as much as four to six inches of topping. Often, a soil/sand mix is used (for example, 75/25) because it can be watered and packed for firmness or fluffed up for a looser footing when needed. *Reining - Like other Western sports, reining requires a stable footing, but usually not as much depth-roughly 2? to 3 inches. *Flatwork - Recommendations are typically for two inches of footing. Dressage in particular will suffer if footing is much deeper. Crumb rubber or wood products are sometimes considered beneficial additives for flatwork because they make the surface springier. *Jumping - Footing that's too deep will absorb energy and propulsion, making takeoff difficult. The optimum footing will offer good resistance for pushing off without being so hard that there's too much concussion on landing. The depth may be similar to that used for flatwork, but the surface for jumping is usually firmer.
Q: My father won an auction on the internet for a really nice excavator that looks too good to be true. The seller wants us to pay him first before he delivers it to us. I was wondering if there was a form of payment similar to escrow, where we transfer the funds, but the seller does not get to access it until the equipment is in our hand and we approve of it.
I am assuming you bought this on Ebay. Paypal is the online OKorder account that acts as an escrow account. You put the money in, which notifies the seller. The seller delivers the product then can collect the money. If you do not receive the item, you can contact paypal and they take that money right back out of the seller's account. A credit card does exactly the same thing. If you don't get the property, you have 30 to 60 days to contest the charge and get the money right back. Hope this helps.
Q: I was so curious, what is the best substrate that you can purchase for Bearded dragons that is easy to clean and not very expensive? I know that sand is the last thing to put in the tank. But i have heard of Repti Carpet. What is that and if you know can you give me some details? Plus what is a Repti hammockgt; What is it used for? Should I get one? Please answer these and remember you guys are saving my life one anwser at a time!
Wishing I knew what age yours is! Reptile carpet, unglazed tiles, slate, newspaper, paper towels and washable shelf liner is to be used up until about the first year. Never use Calci sand as it cause impaction. Mine are all adults now and I do have them on washed play sand with no problems but then I did build feeding stations for all of mine. I like the sand as it is easiest for me to clean but I used the carpet when they were younger. It is green and you get it at the pet store. I have also use the washable shelf liner and that was easy too. Just be sure that when you take the carpet out or liner that you have one ready to replace it with while you wash and dry the other
Q: I just got a new ferret and it has a weird problem. It litter trained very easy, in fact it has never gone to the bathroom outside its litter box. It also thinks its litter box is a place to hang out and dig. At first I though it would stop once it filled up with more waste but it actually got worse. Then I thought was because It was different litter than they used at the pet store. I switched to the same kind of pellet litter they used at the pet store but it didn't work either. I also tried spraying the litter with a little bitter apple so it wouldn't be discouraged to go in to do its business but it wouldn't want to put its face in it anymore but it's still trying to burrow. Does anyone know what else I can do? She has lots of toys to play with.
Take her out of her cage and play with her, she's probably a little bored and playing excavator is her way of releasing energy. Add** NEVER ever used wood chips with ferrets!!!!!! Heres some fun things to do with your ferret 1. Put your ferrets on the floor. 2. Toss a bed sheet on top of them (while you hold onto 2 corners) 3. Pull the sheet up quickly. 4. Watch your ferrets DANCE under neath the sheet with excitement! 5. Repeat! Do you have a medium sized stuffed toy? Its perfect for wrestling with them, then they can grab and bite the stuffed toy- not your hands! Get a squeaky toy and some ferretone, squeak the toy (get the ferrets attention) and give 'em a lick of ferretone. Do this a few times and your ferrets will come running for some yummy ferretone everytime they hear the squeaky. This is also a good thing to train ferrets for recall and if they get lost you can quickly call them with the squeaks. Have you taken your ferrets to the veterinarian for their canine distemper and rabies vaccine? Because both viruses are deadly to ferrets. If they are up-to-date w/ shots then get 2 ferret harness/leashs and let them venture outside. Ferrets don't have homeing instincts and will be lost if you loose sight of them. *Ferretone is high in vitamin A, and excess amounts are not good for ferrets, you should mix some extra virgin olive oil into the ferretone to lessen the vit. A.*
Q: i have one male about three inches long and two femals two inches long (head to tail)
That is hard indeed. i had a pair for 2 years and they never ever mated. Substrate: Try to use the excavator burrowing clay. This is fairly easy to keep clean and if given proper care you should only need to clean it every 6 months. Another on is reptibark or a mixture of dirt and sand 4:1 (without fertlizer). Lighting: You should use a 5.0 UVB light. Like Repti-Sun 5.0. Try to keep the theme rainforest-ish. Don't use heat rocks because it will burn their stomachs. If using a ten gallon cage I recommend using a 25 watt spotlight as it is very weak and won't burn your lizards while still giving them the heat they need. Branches and hides can be placed in the tank. They will climb branches and these are good for basking. They will need the basking side to be of about 90 degrees and a cool side of 75-80 degrees. Other: Misting the cage once a day will keep them at a good humidity. Also give them a water dish that is deep enough for them to soak in. For feeding you can offer them mealworms, crickets, roaches, waxworms. They do not eat any vegetable matter. Clean the cage every 2 weeks.
