Excavators are used in many ways:
Digging of trenches, holes, foundations
Material handling
Brush cutting with hydraulic attachments
Forestry work
Forestry mulching
Demolition
General grading/landscaping
Mining, especially, but not only open-pit mining
River dredging
Driving piles, in conjunction with a pile driver
Drilling shafts for footings and rock blasting, by use of an auger or
Hydraulic drill attachment
Hydraulic excavator capabilities have expanded far beyond excavation tasks with buckets. With the advent of hydraulic-powered attachments such as a breaker, a grapple or an auger, the excavator is frequently used in many applications other than excavation. Many excavators feature a quick coupler for simplified attachment mounting, increasing the machine's utilization on the jobsite. Excavators are usually employed together with loaders and bulldozers. Most wheeled, compact and some medium-sized (11 to 18-tonne) excavators have a backfill (or dozer) blade. This is a horizontal bulldozer-like blade attached to the undercarriage and is used for levelling and pushing removed material back into a hole.
- Q: ok here it is when you have an old horse and it passes away what do you do?do you call the police? how do you move it?what if you want it cremated?=-[ its a sad question but i need to know thank you
- Ask at your local vet clinic of they know of anyone who does horse cremation. Those people will usually come pick your horse up. Your other option is to have it buried. You can hire a backhoe to dig the hole, and they can usually put the horse in it as well. Make sure they line the hole with lime before putting the horse in. Your best bet is to ask at your vet's office. They'll know what to do. Sorry for your loss :( EDIT: A lot of people are saying that it's illegal to bury your horse. I have heard this also, but only in regards to a horse that has been euthanized (because of the toxins or something caused by drugs?). If it died of natural causes it is fine, as long as you have the room (don't bury a horse in a neighborhood). And if anyone ever asks, you tell them either that it just died or that you shot it. If you tell them it was euthanized and you buried it you can get in trouble.
- Q: we would either camp or live in our vehicles. i am broke as hell so might as well be poor out there. I have a better chance of finding enough gold to pay my bills than i do of staying here in FL and being broke all the time for lack of job prospects. It will be hard but so much fun! i have internet marketing ideas that could potentially make me very rich, but until i have money to advertise, i will remain broke as all hell! im female. late 30's,unencumbered and desperate for adventure and change! any takers?
- All the easy Gold has been Panned,..Now they use Excavators, and dozer's.. A Tunnel digging machine at Porcupine Creek,..Alaska...you'd have to modify the Drill Bit... Too Bad... It's so far away from home..
- Q: Hi, I'm in the Navy right now, but I really want to get into construction in the future when I get out, but I have no experience.I've heard that a good idea to get your foot in the door is to take a class to operate heavy equipment. I've researched a couple companies who do classes like that, like ATS, but most of them last months. I want to take classes like this, but I don't think I'll be able to take leave long enough to take one of these classes. Are there any other ways to get some lessons for equipment like dozers, graders, excavators, etc. in a shorter time period? Thanks.
- Probably not. To learn to safely operate a number of different pieces of equipment like this you need lots of hands on experience and that takes some time. If a school offers a shorter program do not trust them. The best way to get into construction is to get into a 4 year apprenticeship program and learn a trade from the bottom up. Supplement your experience with training at a community college. If you are young enough you might consider learning two trades for flexibility and then get into a construction management course or an architecture program. Electical, Carpentry, HVAC, Plumbing are all good programs. Autocad and some construction management or business courses would really round you out well. Construction can be a very rewarding career but there are no shortcuts. You need a combination of schooling and OJT to be successful.
- Q: I have been looking at selling my car and getting a diesel, Mostly a 02-03 7.3L PSD. I have really be looking for reasons not to buy one but i am really not finding any. I live in Missouri so its cold in the winter but as long as i have a block heater i can leave it plugged in, in my driveway so its not too big of a deal. I also know that oil changes are quite a bit more expensive but if you are going to drive it like i am... I.E. not hauling heavy loads you can go 5000mi between oil changes. Anyone have any reasons i should not buy one? Or good reasons too buy one.
- The okorder . Bill has a lot of videos on his site breaking down each engine and comparing all 3 (7.3,6.0,6.4). If you were to get a 6.0 I'd suggest changining the factory head studs to the ARP and deleting the egr. And FYI (this caught a lot of people off guard)...to change the fuel pump or turbo, and some other engine repairs, the cab has to come off. So thats makes it a more expensive repair. The 6.4 is the same way.
- Q: During the winter , when there needs to be a burial , how is the grass and dirt in the cemetary shoveled up ? Isnt the mud too frozen for anyone to dig a 6 foot hole ?
- Backhoes, the machines that dig the holes, are powerful, can dig out the frozen soil in most cases with little problem.
- Q: I am a good mechanic and have a very good experience of dozer and crane excavator maintenance can somebody help me find a good job
- My hubby tried SMC.. its not all that good. Its just a drop shipment membership. You will owe them money when you have not made a dime. Don't do it unless you got the money to spend. At anyrate... you can try USAjobs , try America's job bank, there's a lot of construction jobs about to happen with the stimulus package hitting the states ...they will temporarily start reconstructing and repairing old bridges and streets and etc...
- Q: i have a Bearded dragon and i wanted to use it for him. it seems like it would be more natural substrate than shelf liner but i wanted to know what peoples experiences were with it ?
- huge mess from what heard . how can you clean a mess he made without destroying the burrows. i rather go with cocohusk or something
- Q: It has crumbling buildings and one has a building with an excavator by it
- The word is RUIN
- Q: I havn't quite gotten into the area of hydraulics yet, so I am hoping this question might generate some answers to a few questions I have.A design I have been helping review calls for the use of hydraulics to manipulate a blade and an arm for a small excavator. You guessed it, on the moon. Airless environment and a lot of nasty dust. the little talk I found on the subject of using hydraulics in space is 1 mention by the designers of the shuttle arm, but didn't go into detail. I am wondering if linear actuators would be better for the design over all due to the less complex nature.
- Hydraulic systems are pretty well sealed and have the advantage of being able to be designed to move and manipulate very heavy loads. the space shuttle is loaded with quite a few hydraulic systems.
- Q: What does Hacker do on the black ops zombies map moon (rezzurection)?
- if you hack a gun on the wall it will turn upside down you still have to buy it. if you want to buy regular ammo its 4500 points but upgraded ammo costs only 500 not many people know this so im trying to spread the word. you can also hack doors to open them for a cheaper price but it takes a while and you can hack the pack-a-punch to trap yourself in it so your safe from zombies to get out your team mates need to leave and revive you.its also used for the easter egg.
