Excavators are used in many ways:
Digging of trenches, holes, foundations
Material handling
Brush cutting with hydraulic attachments
Forestry work
Forestry mulching
Demolition
General grading/landscaping
Mining, especially, but not only open-pit mining
River dredging
Driving piles, in conjunction with a pile driver
Drilling shafts for footings and rock blasting, by use of an auger or

Hydraulic drill attachment

Hydraulic excavator capabilities have expanded far beyond excavation tasks with buckets. With the advent of hydraulic-powered attachments such as a breaker, a grapple or an auger, the excavator is frequently used in many applications other than excavation. Many excavators feature a quick coupler for simplified attachment mounting, increasing the machine's utilization on the jobsite. Excavators are usually employed together with loaders and bulldozers. Most wheeled, compact and some medium-sized (11 to 18-tonne) excavators have a backfill (or dozer) blade. This is a horizontal bulldozer-like blade attached to the undercarriage and is used for levelling and pushing removed material back into a hole.

Q:I have WTB Dual Duty FR 26 rims and was wondering if these tires would fit
Both are out-of-stock on the web site provided. May work on the wheel or rim. May not clear the frame. Consult LBS (local bike shop).
Q:I might be specializing in archeology. I really want to work as an excavator or a museum curator. Also, I'm going for my Phd.
For a Bachelors degree, the flagship university in your state. Excel there, then start looking at rankings for your Masters and doctoral studies.
Q:Like what is the capital equipment do they usually use, do they rely on machines or do they carry out their work with human labour? What does their government provide them as a contribution? (government involvement duration and severity?)And because you point out to me, yes I've already search on Google

Q:I' have read from the website below that it is possible to convert the diesel engine of cars, jeeps/jeepneys, and trucks to double tank system so that they may run on both diesel fuel and filtered used vegetable oil.
If his operation is in an area where it is above 40 degrees, he can actually get by with simply filtering the WVO and adding it into the tank. If he is below 40 degrees F, then it is not so simple. The double tank would have to be custom made for each off road vehicle. If his area gets below freezing, he needs to add a coolant jacket to the WVO tank so it remains liquid at lower temps if the tanks are not so equipped currently.
Q:If one excavator can excavate 40 m3/hr, one loader can load 50 m3/hr and one dump truck can haul dump 60 m3/hr?
Take LCM of 40,50,60 10)4,5,6 2)2,5,3 LCM-600 600/40=15 Excavators 600/50 = 12 Loaders 600/60 =10 Dump trucks ( Employ these equipment in the ratio 15:12:10 ) (
Q:them outside right now at my father-in-law's. I'm pretty sure the perc rate will be between 1-5 minutes for 1 inch of water, but we're going to do the official test in a little bit to check. The soil here is sandy and it's a three bedroom house with 3 people living in it and 4 people who visit almost every weekend.
ive been a plumber for 10 plus yrs and can answer most any question you have. If you want to contact me i'm djb3577 on yahoo messenger
Q:Im building a new house and i am currently arranging to have the excavator contractor there to install septic and excavate for the foundation. Then im having the foundation contractor come in to do his job. I live in Nova Scotia if that makes any difference. Should any of these guys be asking for money up front or part way through? Or do they finish then bill me with 30 days to pay? Whats the normal procedure?
I just built a house. I paid the architect after final billing and paid the contractor first a deposit, and from then on had a planned payment schedule of 3 sums with the successful completion of each stage as described in our contract. There was also a final payment for requested extras not included in our quote. Our builder is a very stand up guy.
Q:Excavator three oil one water refers to
According to the concept of construction machinery, good maintenance of FOWA can reduce the trouble of excavator about 70%F: fuel oilO: engine oilW: cooling waterA: airGeneral excavator 70% of the fault is due to poor maintenance
Q:My horse isn't actually broke yet, but I will need an arena once he is.My barn owner has already said that she wants to build one 'soon.' I know that she has the money, the land, and the time. It's just going to be a basic outdoor, all we really need is drainage and footing since the fencing's already there. On the other hand, she's a pretty lazy person. She's really nice, but since I'm the only one on the property who really is pushing for an arena, she's taking her time getting started.Does anyone have any ideas for motivating her, without making her mad? I'd be willing to help build it if I have to, but I'm not sure how to bring it up.Ideas would be great :)
I would simply ask her if she has an ETA for when the arena will be built. Explain to her that your horse is in training, and will eventually need an arena to work in. Give her an idea of when you think you will need the arena and then offer to help her. Since you know she has the time, money, and space, all she needs is materials. Keep an open mind, these things take a lot of time, money and commitment. She may or may not be able to do it right away, but if she knows that her charges are interested it may light a fire under her butt. Find out why she has been waiting. There very well may be some big reasons she has kept to herself for not yet starting the project. If this is the case, you might be waiting a while. Don't use threats, or start an uprising among other barn goers, just lay the facts out and get her side of the story. If she just doesn't know were to start, or needs others to help, well, you can do that! Be patient, and most of all, helpful. That's probably all she needs.
Q:I am having a conversation over e-mail with a guy who says that Piltdown Man was being taught at the college level in the 1970's despite having been debunked 20 years earlier as a fraud. Is this true? Is there a good reason for it if it is? Can some one find me evidence of this?
No. Piltdown Man is a favorite topic of evolution-deniers. But it's such a pathetic argument because Piltdown Man is an excellent example of how science weeds out falsehoods and keeps the truth. It wasn't creationists that discovered Piltdown Man was a fraud, it was scientists. Tell him that denying evolution is like denying the Holocaust.
