Excavators are used in many ways:
Digging of trenches, holes, foundations
Material handling
Brush cutting with hydraulic attachments
Forestry work
Forestry mulching
Demolition
General grading/landscaping
Mining, especially, but not only open-pit mining
River dredging
Driving piles, in conjunction with a pile driver
Drilling shafts for footings and rock blasting, by use of an auger or
Hydraulic drill attachment
Hydraulic excavator capabilities have expanded far beyond excavation tasks with buckets. With the advent of hydraulic-powered attachments such as a breaker, a grapple or an auger, the excavator is frequently used in many applications other than excavation. Many excavators feature a quick coupler for simplified attachment mounting, increasing the machine's utilization on the jobsite. Excavators are usually employed together with loaders and bulldozers. Most wheeled, compact and some medium-sized (11 to 18-tonne) excavators have a backfill (or dozer) blade. This is a horizontal bulldozer-like blade attached to the undercarriage and is used for levelling and pushing removed material back into a hole.
- Q: If one excavator can excavate 40 m3/hr, one loader can load 50 m3/hr and one dump truck can haul dump 60 m3/hr?
- Take LCM of 40,50,60 10)4,5,6 2)2,5,3 LCM-600 600/40=15 Excavators 600/50 = 12 Loaders 600/60 =10 Dump trucks ( Employ these equipment in the ratio 15:12:10 ) (
- Q: Proper operation of excavator excavation
- 2, noteworthy operationsThe hydraulic cylinder is arranged inside the buffer device, can gradually release pressure near the end of stroke; if subjected to impact loading at the end of stroke, the piston will directly touch the cylinder head or cylinder bottom, easy to cause the accident, so to the end of travel should as far as possibleRemaining space. Of bulldozer operation will cause the bucket and the work device is not a normal stress caused by rotary motion, distortion or even pin weld cracking, broken, should try to avoid such operations. Digging with the weight of the body will cause the abnormal state of the slewing bearing, and will produce strong vibration and impact on the chassis. Therefore, the hydraulic cylinder or hydraulic line will be damaged greatly. When loading heavy materials such as rocks, they should be unloaded near the bottom of the truck, or first loaded with earth, and then loaded with rock, so as not to unload at higher levels to reduce impact damage to the truck. When the caterpillar gets stuck deeper in the mud, a board is placed under the bucket, and the crawler is supported at the bottom of the bucket. Then the board is lowered under the caterpillar track and the machine is driven out.
- Q: Ok well I wanna get a really good inground pool, not the best most expenive one they have but really close. I want it to be big and atleast 8 feet deep. it has 2 have a diving board, slide, and zacozey spa,and a fountain would be cool too. I dont want it to be huge but big,so can somebody give me some prices?
- I got a quote here in michigan and it was 30,000 for something near a 12 x12 only 4 ft. deep. That was cement pond including 2 filters. It was with nothing extra and nothing fancy. We ended up buying a Kyak above ground pool with railing and a deck for 12,000. With the two filters.. I still can,t say we got the best dea. It is beautiful and maintainace is low. but I would just go for a regular pool becuase the cost is so rediculious trying to be fancy..We could have gotten much bigger for much less. Oh well I do believe what we have is okay we have had it for 5 years and I bet we have about 10 years left and it will stay in good shape.. best wishes.
- Q: i saw an add for this and thought it looked pretty cool but was wondering if anyone had experience ?is there a high impaction risk even though it is hardened?if so is there a substrate that would get the same look across without the risk?thanks!
- I have heard good and bad things about it. I use calcium sand, there is a very low risk of impaction. also white paper towels work. good luck

- Q: Buying used excavators, where to find?
- V.I Equipment sells a variety of makes and models of used excavators. We specialize in Cat, Deere Hitachi excavators, but our inventory includes other makes as well, such as Linkbelt, Volvo and Komatsu.
- Q: I want to build a garage around 100-150 ft away from my house that has a 200 amp service. What size wire will I need to have a 100 amp sub-panel in my garage. Can it be direct burial or should I run conduit?
- Direct burial must be 24 or more deep, otherwise conduit is required. That's a lot of ditching, overhead would probably be easier. Be sure to use 'UV rated' insulation on the cable, not indoor stuff. If you really intend to draw 100A., ( I doubt that), and are going over 100' you'd better use 1/0 copper cable. If you're just buying a standard 100A panel for the number of circuits to feed a small workshop, #2 should be OK. Any outlets need GFIs. (You will need to drive a ground rod at the garage and bond it to the panel ground. The garage panel has to have a single main disconnect or C.B. regardless of the breaker protecting the feeder cable. (Feeds to separate buildings are treated as services in this respect.)
- Q: More detail: My husband also told me last October that he is tired of his job of 25 years. He works for his parents and they would be devistated if he left so he stays. He makes a good salary, benefits and has it good. He turned 40 in July 2007. He bought a motorcycle after he had told me about his confusion toward his job, his life and me. 3 weeks ago he told me he has been falling out of love with me for about 3 years which again was a total shock! He was intimate to me up until this point. I would have never guessed. We were always so passsionate when we made love he just couldn't have been faking it!!! He works 5 1/2 days weekly as an excavator, he's been in the fire company for 25 years, he is a Boy Scout leader. My son is in Scouts. I know he is very busy and I never nag him or get mad at him for not being around much. I was content as long as he was intimate with me but now I feel like I'm just here for the chores etc. I love him with all my heart. Help?
- Sweetie,I honestly believe it's like I said he is going through a midlife crisis. He could leave you during this if you don't get some marriage counseling. Do not take no from him about it either....he needs to go. I would really be watching him because he may already be having an affair with someone. The motorcycle would be a good excuse to get away for a nice ride to somewhere or with someone. I don't mean to upset you but at this point he is up to something if you ask me. I am an older woman and went through this with my husband and I said therapy or no more marriage with me. It's very scary when you love someone and they start changing and the intimacy stops and you wonder why he even bothers to stay if he so miserable. A midlife crisis does not mean that a man cannot control himself and make rational choices so if he does something here against his marriage do not accept this as an excuse. I am not kidding you what is it with these boy scouts....my husband was also a scout leader for years...maybe this is a sign that they are still little immature boys .... I don't know? All I can tell you is to get on line or go to a book store and look up the signs of men in crisis because he sure sounds like he is and you need to get the best information on how to handle your situation because every relationship is different. Best of luck to you .
