1) High Elasticity, According To The Formula, The Elastic Can Reach 80% Of The Maximum.
2) High Elongation, The Maximum Can Reach More Than 1000%.
3) The Elastic Modulus And The Shear Modulus Is Low, Than Some Rigid Substances Such As Iron And Steel And Other Low Much.
4) Cold Resistant, The Glass Transition Temperature Of Minus 72 Degrees

- Q: I have a 2003 Mercury Marauder (high performance Grand Marquis) 4.6L Modular DOHC V8. For the second time, I have to replace the rear axles. I tried a pair of Dorman axles because I was lead to believe they were made to be properly hardened so that the bearings wouldn‘t dig into and grind away at them, but obviously I was duped because I‘m having that same problem again 30k miles later. I want to know of some manufacturers who make good, properly hardened axles for my car so I don‘t have this problem again. I already know of Moser, but I just want to know of any others on that kind of level so I have more options. Thanks.
- Dorman axles come from China!
- Q: The car is a 1993 pontiac firebird formula WITH DISC brakes. When driving, people tell me that my rear right tire moves in and out of the axle. To describe it better, its as if the tire is being pushed out and then drawn back in to the axle. I‘m pretty sure it‘s also the cause of the brake squeak that has plagued my car for the past few months.I took the wheel off and removed the caliper and bracket down to just the thing with the studs on it. I pulled on it and it moved in and out a decent amount, enough to be noticeable.I‘m thinking wheel bearing. Anyone know what this could be and how to fix it?
- Actually there is a c clip on the end of that axle that is retained in the sun gear and by the planetary gear cross shaft in the differential carrier. There is always some in and out movement around 1/8 is normal. Keep looking for your brake squeak. Side to side movement may also be the entire axle moving under the car. Try duplicating by pushing on the fender and have some one watch the locating links rods and panhard bar.
- Q: Took my car in to get some belts replaced and the guys there wrote some more things that are wrong with my car and how much they cost. One of the things they put were CV axles costing 115 each(if they use their own parts). I‘ve looked everywhere to see if i could get them for a cheaper price but I cant find a cv axle anywhere. I‘ve found cv joints and a cv driveshaft. Anyone know what they could be talking about? And how much of these cv axles i will need as they stated that its 115 each? Thanks in advance! Oh my car is a 2001 Hyundai Elantra
- A CV axle and CV drive shaft are the same thing.
- Q: I know how an internal combustion engine works, but I don‘t understand how that, in turn, turns the axle. And if you are going to use weird terms, please define them.
- Engine - Crank Shaft - Transmission(clutch,flywheel,pressure plate) - Differentials - Drive shaft(axle)
- Q: how much to replace rear axle on chevy suburban?
- vehicles and suburbans share alot of the aspects. as long because of the fact it fairly is a million/2 ton or 3/4 ton lead them to tournament. it fairly is a GM agency 10 bolt rear. there are hundreds of them around. will now no longer be waiting to have faith they're complicated to discover.
- Q: I tried prying it out and everything else I could think of but it won‘t come out. The driver side came out with no problem. I‘m desperate and will try almost anything now.I need some suggestions!!!!!
- obviously if you got the driver side out you have the lower ball joint undone if it is stuck in the trans axle use two pry bars on the axle at the trans and pry evenly from both sides. should come that way. if stuck in wheel (hub/bearing) and you have new axles to replace the old ones with use a big dead blow hammer to hit the end of the axle, if no dead blow then put nut on and use steel hammer so you dont damage the threads, run nut on just far enough to come flush with end of axle
- Q: what kind of axle does it have and what about the ring and pinion and is it a 10 bolt cover and is it a 30 Spline Count
- The only thing i can tell you is count how many bolts that on the inspection cover, either 10 or 12
- Q: reddish fluid is on the axle and lil on the transfer case housing, never worked on a vehicle with a torsion bar suspension, my hanes manual doesn‘t have this procedure, any good online tutorials?
- V, your move case is to the rear of the transmission. i do not recognize what Bubbs drives. in certain circumstances the four wheel drive can bind up. you could attempt to unbind it by potential of first, going someplace the position it should be cool and chance-free to attempt this, and positioned the wheels on one area on a floor that they could spin on genuinely and goose the gasoline for a short burst so the wheels spin. Then attempt this in opposite. attempt to shift out of four wheel drive after doing this some circumstances. you ought to attempt shifting even as your transferring inspite of the undeniable fact that it will be complicated. Get a equipment head which will help you. solid success.
- Q: i bought my 03 amch 1 salvage turns out i need to change the rear axle. What should i get the cobras IRS(individual rear suspension) or the stock solid rear axle?-keeping in mind that im only going to use as a daily driver and maybe race it a couple times at the 1/4 strip.
- The IRS is for sure the better way to go with either daily driving (softer ride) and 1/4 mile times(traction). I would imagine however that the IRS unit is significantly more costly. On the other hand the solid rear can be tunes in better for the track with some aftermarket parts and would be alot more able to take high rpm launches if your going to get into racing more. For some mild street/strip action if i had the choice id go with the IRS just for the comfort factor.
- Q: I‘m reassembling a Panasonic ten speed. Every time I reassemble the back axle and spin it, the nuts tighten and the wheel stops. What is the correct order of the parts on the back axle? Thank you
- Here you go, from left (non-drive side) to right. this does not include the axle nuts: thin locknut washer cone bearings bearings cone spacer(s) locknut Make absolutely certain that the washers are in the correct place and that the locknuts are tight. This is pretty easy with a set of cone wrenches. Sounds more to me like the bearings you are using are too small or the wrong quantity, or if they are caged bearings that they are in backwards. In the case of caged bearings, the flat part of the cage faces out, and the bearings go into the bearing cup. To determine the correct number of bearings (no cage) fill the cup until it is full, then remove one. The size of bearings depend on the hub make and model. Make sure that when repacking the bearings you don't fill up with grease. There should be just enough white lithium grease in there to cover everything with a thin film, not globs, and not high temperature or disc brake moly grease.
