Q: What liquids or solids react negatively when they come in contact with aluminum?
Effects Of The Steam Engine
Q: I have put clay over a paper mask form and I want to bake it now, but if I remove the form, the mask will collapse. The clay bakes at 275 so if I were to do this in intervals or about 15 minutes, would I be ok? I don't want the paper (well it's more of a cardboard sort of) catching fire in my gas oven
This probably isn't much help now but you could have used tin foil as the form instead of cardboardCan you remove the form and do that?
Q: I heard that the new macbooks were going to be released in Oct2008Does anyone know about the upgrades? They do well at hiding everything! Any links, prices, specs?
Two things- 1I have seen a lot of poor quality spin off partsOne detail that might be missing on that one is the hole for the inlet air temp sensorA polished aluminum tube might look good, but it also conducts heat very well, which in the end raises the air temp right up to levels you would have any way2Take a good look at the factory set upThe odds are that the air box already draws air from some place besides the open engine bay and already has a cold air intakeSome time around the mid 90's most car makers started doing thisThe best thing to do if this is the case is to engineer piping that will direct cold air into that existing systemPlease study up on this issue! Some of those cold air intakes end up getting wet and if that happens the filter needs to be dried out before the car will run rightWith the factory air box the way it is installed prevents moisture from soaking the air filterIn short, just save your money and buy just the air filter that fits the stock air box.
Q: can i simply paint over the aluminum?
You can download the latest bios in the link in the source.
Q: anyone have a killer home made beef jerky recipe?
First of all, you might want to use a good leather cleaner, not necessarily a conditioner, to remove the shoe polish.as it will get on your clothingYou can buy leather dye at any boot/shoe repair shop and dye it yourself.for the rust on the buckles, you can use white vinegar and either steel wool or aluminum foil to remove itSometimes CLR works just as good, but I like to start with vinegar, as it is going to harm nothingLastly, a good leather conditioner like Leather New will do just fineI would still wear an older pair of riding pants the first time that I rode it if I were you.
Q: We took it out and they were all gross and black, lol it was funny though, everyone ran out of the door because we thought it was going to catch on fire bahahaha!
Was there any aluminum foil in the box? That is what usually causes sparks in the microwaveAdd in: Lol, I guess that's why then :)
Q: physics!!!!!!!!! Two identical bar magnets are dropped at the same time from the same height down tubes of the same lengthMagnet A is dropped down an aluminum tube while magnet B is dropped down a plastic (non-conducting) tubeWhich magnet reaches the bottom of the tubes first? Magnet A will not fall through a conducting tubeBoth arrive at the same timeMagnet AMagnet BThe answer depends on the permeability of the plastic in the plastic tub
Magnet A falls more slowly, since an electric current is induced in the aluminum tubeThe electric current creates heat, and this energy must be supplied by the falling magnetThe effect is that of a friction brake.
Q: I have this chemistry worksheet and I'm quite stumped by itI've never been that great when it came to science or math, so this is all over the headCan someone explain to me how to balance these equations?Directions: Write the word equations below as chemical equations and balance.1) Aluminum bromide and chlorine gas react to form aluminum chloride and bromine gas.2) Copper and sulfuric acid react to form copper (II) sulfate and water and sulfur dioxide.Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
1st question- some people use insulation lagging on their pipes at home to prevent heat from escapingthey have double-glazed windows to prevent heat coming in by air, since air is the best insulator of heat next to a vacuumthey also have rugs on the floor and tiled roofs2nd question- on whatever object they wish to overcome radiation, they silver-coat it or cover it with something shinyshiny, smooth surfaces are the poorest absorbers and radiators of heatthey are the best reflector of heat by radiation3rd question- convection currents occur in the refrigerator, and in air-conditioned rooms and in kettlesthis occurs because the hot air rises because of its density but the cold air fallswhen you heat the room, the density of the air increases and the original hot air falls4th question- insulation is the opposite of conduction, it prevents heat transfer from one molecule to the nextconvection occurs in currentsthe cold fluid at the bottom is heated and the hot fluid from the top will fall thus creating a currentradiation is the transfer of heat by electromagnetic wavesthis is how heat reaches from the sun to the earthone final note, i learned all of this in a physics session in school and im only thirteen.
Q: I want to make a small pork loin roastMaybe 2 or 3 lbsEnough to feed one person for a week or soI plan to rub it with onion and garlic powder, then cook it for half an hour at a high temperature and several hours more at a very low temperatureI have a 9 by 13 nonstick cake panWill that work? Or should I buy a disposable roasting pan? Also, should I cover it with aluminum foil at any point during the cooking process? I don't want it to come out dryI've never made roast pork before, only roast beefAny advice would be appreciated!
I live in the Dallas area and recently had an energy audit done by my power companyOne of their recommendations was R40 attic insulation.
Q: So I started off by pouring Clorox into a test tube and adding pieces of aluminum foil causing bubbles to formAfter that, I added Heinz Apple Cider vinegar and a white precipitate formedI know it was a precipitate because after adding water the white substance would not dissolveDoes anybody know what happened or at least give an equation representing the reaction?
Holy crap! What a long questiom.
