- I don't know much about it, but our barn has good ventilation, and is really easy to hose out with good drainageIt is poured white concrete structure(no natural disaster around here is going to hurt it,) wood stalls lined with rubber(the stallion stalls are lined with rubber because they kick consistantly and they've gone through the wood before,) top half metal bars which allow the horses to stick their heads out without being able to reach eachother, stone/sand bottoms with rubber mats on top, drains in each stall and along the concrete aisle which is good for hosing out the barnWe have rubber mats where the grooming racks are, where the shower racks are, and in the breeding room as wellWe have siding on the outside and the same type of roof that is on a house with shingles, as my mom wanted it to matche the houseWe have windows at the tops of each stall and the horses could care less about themPeople think barns like ours have bad ventilation and don't keep temperatures well, but ours is excellent - it stays cool in the summer and when the heater isn't on in the winter it stays a lot warmer than it is outsideWe've had some really bad storms and the drains prevented the stalls from flooding while the indoor arena was completely under waterI do not like aluminum roofs because they're really loud when it's raining and don't keep heat and cold out well.
- Q: (sorry about all the question marks title has to be 20 characters long)I'm living in a fancy schmancy mansion with fancy schmancy appliances (long story) and the microwave has a metal tray in itSince when was metal in microwaves okay (it is ceramic-coated metal though)? It's a Gaggenau microwave it also works as a grill though but is it really a microwave??I'm anti-microwave so it would be cool if it is really a high tech microwave-like non-microwave, but the manual just calls it a microwave and doesn't go into much detail because it has to fit about 10 languages into the manual, or because you already bought it so they don't need to sell you itAnyways, what's your thoughts? Any microwave pros out there?
- This happens only in movies and stories for children and is not something that happens in real lifeIf it did work then countless accidents wouldn't happen, countless people would be alive who are today dead and people would be rich from beng able to influence electronic items and machines from afar and so win ALL the psi prizes put up by institutes all over the world trying to prove itThey aren't, didn't and couldn'tso it is not real.
- Q: This sounds really ridiculous, but as I was standing on a chair in my kitchen trying to reach for something on top of the cupboard, whilst holding a few things in the other hand, somehow I dropped everything into the sink and my cleaver managed to cut and pierce through the aluminum sink and theres a slight crack in itPlease, if anyone knows how I could fix this kindly let me knowThank you so much.
- I'm going to get in trouble answering this one but here goesFirst, it is very highly unlikely your sink is aluminumWhile it may look like it is aluminum, it is 99% likely it is stainless steelAn aluminum sink in a kitchen would wear out quickly, stain easily, have to be very thick, easily scratch and be very expensive to make To fix it so that the repair is relatively smooth, you need to make it worse before you can make it betterTake a screwdriver and hammer and strike along both edges of the cut so that an indentation is made from the topYou want an opening with two small lips so the epoxy you use can join thru the opening and at the same time be smoothed across the top to make it level with the sink finishFind the best epoxy at your local hardware store used for repairing stainless steelSome one should be able to direct you to the proper typePrepare your surface, top and bottom, making sure any rubber pad or spray on coating is removed underneath and rough up the surfaces with a medium grit sandpaperAfter mixing, force the material thru the hole so some sticks out the bottom leaving a slight mound on topApply a 1/4 layer of epoxy under the sink tapering down to flat about 1 1/2 out from each side of the cut to ensure good adherenceAfter the material gets firm to the touch before the it hardens on top, take a blade, like a cleaver (lol), and trim the material flush with the sinkImmediately after, gently smooth the epoxy with a fine grit sandpaperFollow the directions for curing time It won't be pretty but it should be functional and not leak unless the sink is stressed or abused Good Luck!
- Q: .It's pretty much a clam rapped in foil and when the clam is opened, it has some sort of stew or soup insideIt's deliciousI had it in Mexico a few years ago and I've been craving it since.
- Stuffed Clams: Almejas Brujas Many varieties of clams are to be found in the Sea of Cortez, including the famous chocolates and patas de mulaFor this recipe, we used the large, yellow-shelled botijones, which have a long, firm white foot, although any type of large, hard-shelled clam may be usedClams should be soaked in salt water, either that in which they have been gathered or, if store bought, in a solution of 1/3 cup salt water to one gallon of water, for 3-12 hoursSprinkling with 1/4 cup corn meal for every quart of clams helps flush out sand Those with open or broken shells, or any that are floating, should be discardedThe following recipe is from the family of Isaac Guadalupe, of Santa Rosalia, Baja California SurIngredients: 24 large clams 1/2 cup butter 1/3 cup finely chopped white onion 6 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped 2 medium tomatoes, peeled, seeded and finely chopped 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro 8 ounces manchego, asadero, or jack cheese, grated Preparation: Open the clams by inserting a knife between the shells and cutting the muscle that holds the two shells togetherCut the meat from the bottom shell and chop it finelyScrub the shells and set asideMelt the butter in a medium saucepan, add the onion and garlic and saute over medium heat until the onion becomes transparentAdd the tomatoes and cook until they release their juicesStir in the cilantro and remove from the heatAdd the chopped clams to the tomato mixture, stirring well to combine all ingredientsIf the mixture seems too loose, 1/4 cup fine, dry bread crumbs may be addedStuff the shells with the mixture, sprinkle grated cheese over each one, and wrap them individually in aluminum foilGrill over hot coals for 10 minutesIf cooking the clams in an oven, omit wrapping them in foil and place them in a pre-heated 375? oven for 10 minutes.
- Q: How should pizza crust be stored in the refrigerator to maintain freshness and quality?
-
The best way to store pizza crust in the refrigerator is to wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil to prevent it from drying out. If you have a sealable plastic bag, you can place the wrapped crust inside to provide an additional barrier against moisture. Store it in the refrigerator for up to two days. To maintain freshness, avoid stacking other items on top of the crust, which could cause it to become flattened. When you're ready to use it, let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to an hour to soften before topping and baking.

- Q: How much does an aluminum Atom cost. The goal of this problem is to determine the cost of a single atom in a roll of aluminum foilMark has purchased a 200 sq.ftroll for $4.106.02 x (10 to the 23rd) atoms of aluminum have a mass of 26.98g.As a student int his lab, you will provided with only one sheet of aluminum : Length 5.7 cm Width 4cm Mass of sample sheet 0.080gFor each calculation there should be some accompanying verbal description of what that calculation is going to accomplishWhat does the result mean? What I did is: found the area of the sheet, then how many atoms are in the sheet, then I found how many atoms are in the 200sq.ft of aluminum by multyplying the area of the sheet by 0.0011Then I wanted to convert the area of the sheet, which is in sqcmto sq.ft but I got stock, I couldnt convert it.Then finally I ended up with this equation 200sq.ft x (1.78 x (10 to the 21st)) ÷ 0.025 ??
- This is just a bit tricky because of how the question was stated but really easy when you understand the problem The first step is to get the number of atoms in 200 sq ft of aluminum foil: of atoms (200 sq ft) x (0.080g / 0.02454 sq ft) x (6.02 x 10^23 atoms / 26.98 g) about 1.45 x 10^25 atoms If you're wondering where I got 0.02454 sq ft, that's the area of the given sheet of aluminum foil (L 5.7cm, W4cm)I just converted to ftNow that you have the number of aluminum atoms in 200 sq ft of aluminum, you just have to divide the cost with that number: cost per atom of Al $4.10 / of atoms; substitute the above value and you will get roughly 2.8 x 10^(-25) dollar per atom Hope this helps.
- Q: Kid's survey for elementary school, doesn't have to be high tech answerWhich is worse for the environment, aluminum foil or plastic shopping bags, and give a simple reason for your opinionThank you for your participation!
- Basically they are both badAluminum foil is less green to produce, but can be reused/ recycled (recycled at an additional cost to the environment)It's a tough question and no one knows for sureAluminum foil was the loser in nearly all the metrics Compass assesses, including fossil fuel consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, human health impacts, aquatic toxicity and potential for eutrophication (a kind of water pollution, caused by excessive nutrients, that can lead to fish-killing algal blooms)However, there are ways that foil can narrow those gapsReusing it is one straightforward optionAccording to Compass, if you use one piece of foil three times, it will contribute less aquatic toxicity than using three pieces of LDPE, and it just about matches the plastic on fossil-fuel usage and eutrophicationYou'd have to use that foil six times, however, before the greenhouse gas emissions and human health impacts were also comparableFoil made with recycled aluminum can reduce the impacts associated with manufacturingAluminum, unlike plastic or paper, can be recycled foreverAccording to one industry estimate, household foil already includes 25 to 40 percent pre-consumer recycled material - i.e., factory scraps and trimmings - with the rest coming from freshly mined, virgin metalThe Lantern knows of two companies, Reynolds and If You Care, that make foil with what's billed as 100 percent recycled contentIn Reynolds's case, that content is a fluctuating mix of pre-consumer and post-consumer material (i.e., metal that's already had a life as a can or a pot)If You Care foil contains only pre-consumer material.
- Q: that aluminum and plastic package containing pillswhat is it called?
- Lots of stores(like Walmart, or the craft stores)have kits that are supppose to be age appropriateOr maybe if there are hobby stores in your area, take the boys in and see what they like.
- Q: Using the welding brazing rodsI need to get the ali tube up to 400C and melt the rod on the surfaceI've researched loads but getting contradictory answersOne says propane is sufficient as long as the nozzle diameter is at least 3/4quot;Others are saying I will need mapp or acetylene. Please give me your advice and tell me about your experiences?p.s I tried using a propane/butane mix gas with a torch bought in BQ but the nozzle was only around 8mm and that didnt get the metal anywhere near hot enough. Thanks!Kelly
- I use mapp gas , it will reach 1,000 deg I have rods that melt at 700 deg [alum]
