Q:a few of the amp power cables in the recording studio got mixed around, and I'm not sure which is mine. My amp is a Fender Mustang III, (100-120V, 50/60 Hz, 310W) and I'm wondering if there is a specific power cable that I CANNOT use for the amp, like one that fits into the plug in the back but has too much voltage, and so on.

Q:Whenever I unplug the power cable, the laptop starts to lag, bad, and yes I do have a fully charged battery. This has been happening ever since I got the thing, and no it has nothing to do with the battery, and no matter how many times I re-plug the cable and take it out again, or just leave it in, it continues to lag. The battery and power plant statistics do not enter into the calculations. I assume that the load is continuous, and the battery is to be continuously trickle charged. The power plant will have to deliver the load current and battery trickle charging current, at the voltage necessary to charge the battery. You will need to know the load current, the trickle charge current, the distance between the power supply and the battery (or load if you connect directly to it), and the voltage necessary to supply the load and trickle charge the battery. The voltage drop will be the total current multiplied by the total circuit resistance. this resistance will be the sum of the individual conductor resistances. As an equation, this is Voltage drop = total resistance times current in amperes. The total resistance will be the voltage drop divided by the current. Now you know how much resistance you can stand. The National Electrical Code in the US has tables showing the resistances of various sizes of wire, and how much current they are rated to carry. From these, or maybe from you wire supplier, you can find out what size wire you need. It will need to be large enough to supply the voltage and current, and have a rating for at least that much current.
Q:my friend and i were installing a subwoofer in his car and the rem cable touched the amp and caused a short. the cd player does not turn on any more and we could not find any problem anywhere the only fuse blown was the fuse on the power wire for the amp and that should not have any effect on the cars cd player what could be wrong? (the fuse on the back of the cd player was not blown this leads me to believe there is nothing wrong with the cd player and it is not fried)

Q:Hey! I bought a new sound system for my truck including 4 new speakers, a sub, a 5-channel amp, and I'm running all new wiring. So far I've got the 3 RCA cables ran, along with the blue remote turn-on wire along the right side of my truck. I plan to run the Power wire down the left side and then to my amp.I've heard that you put the power wire and RCA cables on different sides, which is what I've done, but is it ok for my speaker wires to be run beside or close to the power wire(4-gauge fyi)?For example, the right side speaker wires wont be near it, but the left side speaker wires will be...Will this cause any weird noise from my speakers?I don't have the names/etc of all my gear right in front of me, but if u rly need it, I will quot;add detailsfor you! Separating the power the speaker wires is not as important in a car that uses DC voltage as it is in a home system that has AC voltage. It certainly doesn't hurt anything, tho.... If you do run them across each other, keep the intersection as close to a good right angle as possible. And, air is a very good insulator, so keeping some distance between the power the speaker wires is also very good.
Q:im curious what a good rule of thumb would be for determining how strong a fuse to put in line to the amp. im getting a 2300 watt amp but dont know how many amps of fusing it uses. so i dont know its power draw. any help would be great

Q:I'm only asking this on here out of interest, this is not homework. I want to know how to calculate exact distances between to poles connected at the top by a cable. The length or height of the objects are not important to me, but if you must use an example please do so. So I want to know what formulas to use, what variables in those formulas mean, and how the slope of the cable will affect the distance. For example, if two poles have a distance between them of 0, and the cable extends 100, it would not mean that the drop of the cable (called a catenary?) would be 50, (it's misleading because you would think that since the distance between the two poles is 0, the cable would drop 50 and rise 50.
