Tile you can buy cheaper on average,on a per square foot basis, but when you factor in prep and setting materials on the average job, the s/f price gos up. Labor alone is approximately double per s/f for tile than it is for wood. Several factors can change this but the norm is tile can be almost double ( installed price) than hard wood. Q:why is waterproofing done before grouting?why do we need to let the mortar/adhesive dry before grouting?: You should use special green board for the shower. It is water resistant not water proof. This gives the best base for the tiles. You should leave the adhesive set up totally before grouting because the gases that are in the glue need a place to go. This includes thin set mortar because of the water vapor it out gases. Good luck

Then you can basically paint any paint of your choice over it without the fear of delamination. I have even use this method on mirrors and they work fine. Since this is a bathroom, enamel paint as the top coat will be a better choice since its easier to maintain and clean. Consider the color of your grout as carefully as the color of tile you buy. Mix the grout carefully and use a tile sponge to get the grout smooth. Carefully clean as much grout as possible off the tiles. The grout must dry at least a day before sealing. You should re-seal your grout to maintain your floor as directed on the sealant. The spray on sealer is magic for smaller areas. A large area might get expensive and more time consuming?

As it‘s a very small en-suite, I‘m thinking o: Mosaic tiles can add a lot of variety and interest into a bathroom. A mixture of blues is suitable and your decision to keep the other areas white is also correct. I am assuming the fittings will also be white colour. But, if you are planning to cover only one part of a wall where it is against the shower, it might not look right. (unless the wall you are referring to is the wide side of the shower and it is also the full width of the bathroom) it is best to either use it on all three sides of the shower or in one full wall of the bathroom.
