I am going to guess you weren't one of us geeks who took Basic and Advanced electronics in high school. :) Power [measured in watts when referring to electricity] is equal to voltage multiplied by amperage. So, just what amperage do the vacuums with the 12 volts have? And, what voltage motors are in the ones running on 6 amps? Find out those other variables respectively and do the math to figure out total power generated.

- hi, It relies upon on how tall the carpet is. If the carpet tuffs are tall, and the beater bar is getting slowed down, then switching to the extreme placing will enable it to no longer hit the carpet so not basic, and it is going to run smother. in the different case go away it on the low placing. in case you choose to hoover crumbs from a vinyl floor, go away it on the low placing.

- There are a lot of 'lightweight' vacuum cleaners available by good brands such as Dyson and Morphy Richards. I would recommend the Dyson but it may still be a little heavy. Your best shot is to take you mum to an electrical store and test a comfortable one. It might be better to get a cylinder instead of an upright so your pushing less weight around.
