Q:I got my scaffold pierced last thursday (it is now monday) and it hurts soooo much! i cant even lean it properly, its not infected its just because when i knock one part of it the whole thing hurts, and my hair keeps getting knotted around it etc, can someone tell me who has had experience with this piercing when it will heal?: my friend has it and shes had problems with it like you do with the hair and stuff but hers healed up in about 4 months. and its so cute. if i was aloud to get one i would so get it

Q:I have had a scaffold piercing since october last year(2012) and I don't think it's healing very well I clean it 2-3 times a day and twist it every now and again but it just keeps going red and saw I'd there anything I shoud do (btw I'm 14 and I live in the UK near London area?)And neither do I have keloids and it also scabs up a little still and hurt and burns, I use salt and water in a mug and clean with cotton buds.: Scaffold is a cartilage piercing and cartilage piercings need 1 full year to fully heal if treated properly for the whole healing period. They are nothing like other piercings, they are not easy to heal and they have their ups and downs while doing so. They can stay irritated, swollen and painful for long, bumps can be formed around them which also can get infected. All this goes away after proper care but can happen again days or even months later. So you need to be extra careful with it and follow your piercers after care instructions by the book if you want to keep yourself and the piercing healthy. You need to do sea salt soaks 2 times a day for the whole healing period and never stop. How to do : Warm water (8oz) + non iodized salt (1/4 teaspoon) mixed in a cup. Soak the piercing in for 10 minutes, 2 times a day. Use a q-tip to clean around the piercing thoroughly, rinse with water and pat it dry with a paper towel. Until the piercing is fully healed don't : Touch it, twist the jewelry, play with it, sleep on it, change the jewelry or take it out but only touch it with freshly washed hands to clean it. Do not twist the jewelry. If a piercing is freshly cleaned it can easily slide in and out with the slightest push. Some kids mistakenly think that if you don't twist the jewelry it will somehow get stuck to the skin and never move again. This is a bad myth and can never happen. If you keep twisting the jewelry the crusties that are naturally created and attacked to the jewelry will keep scratching the inside part of the piercing ( the actual wound ) causing trauma again and again, irritating the piercing and dealing the healing process. A new piercing , especially cartilage ones need cleaning, time to heal and avoid touching.

Q:I have my belly button pierced as well and didn't think that hurt, how would you compare it to belly button piercings?: its not that bad, i found the front hurt more than the back, but it's really not that bad.. you will feel it though, compared to the belly

Q:So a week ago today I got my industrial pierced. The pain was what I expected and afterwards it was very sore (as expected) however a week later it is a still rather sore and swollen and (I hate to be disgusting) quite crusty with dried blood/yellow stuff. I clean it everyday with salt water solution but I was just wondering if this was normal or should I take the piercing out?: That's normal! It'll be sore like that for a month or so.

Q:i need a peircing in my right ear can i do scaffolding my self? whats the risks?: I'm sure you probably could, but I wouldn't recommend it. These piercings tend to be a bit more costly, mine was like 55 dollars I think, but it's definately worth it. The thing with this piercing is that if you mess up the angles or if the alignment is even a little off, you're piercing won't heal and you'll just have to take it out anyway. It's an amazing piercing to have and good luck if you decide to do it yourself. :)

Q:I have a cartilage piercing on my right ear and now I want scaffolding. Can they just pierce the other side of my ear (opposite my other cartilage piercing) and put a scaffold bar through my existing cartilage piercing hole and the new piercing hole opposite? Can I then get another cartilage piercing straight underneath the scaffolding? How much does it hurt? Thanks in advance :): an industrial piercing is much different than a helix. a helix is normally pieced from the from to the back of the ear while a helix is pierced from the outside to the inside of the ear. without a picture or seeing it it's hard to say so go to your local professional. piercings don't tickle. the pain shouldn't be a concern.
