It's got a suction technology very similar to Dyson but for 1/2 (or less) the price of a Dyson. HEPA filtration will help keep the dirt where it belongs and not back into the air. I recently bought a second one; and moved the unit that was downstairs to the upstairs. Old house, steep stairs and carrying a sweeper up and down the steps is just plainly a pain. The new one is just as powerful as the older one and hubby thinks it's a little quieter. It is lighter, a little bit. If you watch, you can get it on sale for around $170. Keep an eye at Lowe's; that's where I bought mine newest one. We have 3 dogs and 4 cats in the house so I know pet hair. We vacuum every other day most of the time and either Healthy Home unit has done a great job! I hated the sweeper we had upstairs and would have hubby carry the Bissell upstairs 90% of the time anyhow.

I've never even heard of a problem with vacuums generating static, and most tech kits include a small vacuum. And I've never seen document proof of moisture from breath destroying any computer component. Just make sure you power the system down before doing anything, and don't spit on it, and you should be fine.
