Q:I am in the lower level room of a duplex, and there is a cathedral ceiling above me, broken in half by the banister/split level. Its about 10 or 11 feet across, and 10 feet high. I just want a simple track to put a curtain up that is heavy velvet (like a stage curtain). So, there is no window involved.
I would buy a long piece of velvet from a fabric store so that the measurements are exactly what you want, then string a very thick gauge wire across the area, and use clips or rings with clips like this.. .curtain-rod-drapery-hardwar... I like the combo of the industrial look of wire with the elegance and heavieness of the velvet. Also, if you need to move it, it will slide very easily across the wire.
Q:i like earthy tones, i have dark red color small decorative pieces.
Hey there! If you like earthy tones, I feel that you should go with lush chocolatey brown curtains. It will compliment the beige walls that have a slight brown tone to them as well as contrast with your lighter colored flooring. I also think it will go well with your dark red accents, especially at this time of year, burgundy, mossy greens, and browns are really in and look fantastic.
Q:The furniture is a rust leather color. Tables are oak. Someone told me red would compliment it, but Im not too sure. I am looking into changing the curtains for the cold months ahead, and will be buying energy saver curtains.
This Site Might Help You. RE: What color curtains would compliment a sea mist green wall? The furniture is a rust leather color. Tables are oak. Someone told me red would compliment it, but Im not too sure. I am looking into changing the curtains for the cold months ahead, and will be buying energy saver curtains.
Q:My apartment is really poorly insulated. The best way to fix that would be to get foam/injected insulation done but right now I can not afford it. I was thinking that there must be a place where you can get insulated curtains to hang on walls that are exposed to the exterior. Like those large commercial type curtains in office building that you would hang along an entire wall or foam board that you would stick to that wall.It wont be as efficient but it will keep me from paying a small fortune for heating while I save up for the insulation work. Thanks!
We had that problem in my mom's 80 year old house on the side walls which were plaster without insulation. We bought 4' x 8' rigid foam insulation sheets (1 1/2 inch, I think) and wrapped them with burlap (you could use any fabric -- king-sized sheets from a discount store would be a cheap source of a lot of yardage). Then we stapled vinyl sheeting to the wall for a vapor barrier and fastened the panels to the wall with drywall screws through to the studs. It made a huge difference in keeping the rooms warm and the wrapped foam made a giant bulletin board that we could hang things on.
Q:I want to hang a curtain rod above my window, but Im not allowed to screw or nail into the wall. Is there an affordable way to hang the curtain rod up without nailing the wall?
The glue might be strong but- put anything heavy on it and it will just rip the paint or paper of the wall! My opinion is their is no realistic option than a good old fashoned screw (: and plug! If you do stick it on? be gentle or try to scrape of the paint for the glue to stand a chance of holding
Q:Glass curtain wall open window opening angle why not more than 30 °, open distance should not be greater than 300mm?
due to safety concerns! Anti-jump building, wind lift!
Q:1, I graduated from the specialist, water conservancy and hydropower construction professional, proficient in CAD, graduation has been a year, now engaged in municipal measurement, there is no curtain wall design unit will accept me like this? 2, want to engage in curtain wall design, which need to strengthen the professional knowledge, from where to learn? 3, generally I this situation, if starting from the draftsman, there is no chance to become a curtain wall designer? 4, the curtain wall as a whole industry, how is the level of designer income?
1, now the second-tier company's curtain wall design basically only on the CAD, there are some structural computing software, but are fool software, very simple. Line curtain wall design company has turned to the three-dimensional design, BIM modeling and other fields, the gap is still relatively large. Your foundation will not be bad, do the design after some exercise or hope. 2, professional knowledge, then the first proposed running on the scene, a variety of curtain wall structure has a understanding, and then a variety of curtain wall specifications, and then look at the company's software requirements to fill the software strength. 3, curtain wall designers are piled out of time, as mentioned before, every day in overtime design, do 5 years of eyes can do something.
Q:I have no tools so please also tell me what tools I need to do this. Not sure if I need to call a professional for this. However since I just have one window I wouldnt mind learning. Has anyone tried doing it yourself. any help will be appreciated.
Much depends on the weight of the curtains and the span you are making. Also what you are fixing to, behind your wall covering. If you have a lighter weight curtain and don't want or need a pull type curtain, just buy the expanding rods to fit your window. They come with hangars and small nails. You can affix them to the woodwork around your window if that is your liking, or to the drywall just next to the woodwork. All you need is a hammer for this application. If you are going to install heavier curtains and rods that have the strings for pulling the curtains back, it is better to buy a small hand drill, a bit, and some expansion pieces. These are tapered plastic, about any size you want, and come with a screw already in them. You drill your hole, remove the screw and tap the plastic piece flush with the wall, then thread your screw through the curtain mount and on into the plastic piece. It sometimes takes two of these per side. Finally, if you are going heavy duty, wing nuts are the way to go. You will need a hand drill, a larger bit, and a screwdriver. You mark where your hole will be, drill it out, then thread the bolt through the rod mount, then the expansion wing nut, push the entire wing through the wall, and begin tightening it by pulling by hand back on the screw until it gets a bit tight. This means the wings on the other side have spread and are gripping the inside of the wall. You then just tighten up the bolt until it is firm and holds the rod in place. Just remember, this application is usually reserved for drywall, and sometimes plaster, but not into wood unless it is very thin on the other side of the wall (almost never since you would be going into the window framing itself). Ask at your hardware store. They will give you instructions and help you buy what you need at the most reasonable cost.
Q:I friend was staying with me and apparently was using (shooting up?) liquid Dilaudid. There are stains on my walls, ceilings, and curtains from the dilaudid. They are rust/red colored stains. I have tried Magic Eraser, soap and water, and peroxide. I cannot get the stains off. My bathroom looks bad with all the streaks and dots everywhere. Anyone have suggestions on cleaning these off without having to repaint?? Thanks in advance.
I'm sorry - how the hell did they get it on the walls, ceilings, and curtains? They must've been confused about the meaning of 'shooting up'. There's probably not much you can do but paint, replace the curtains, and then beat some compensation out of your friend.
Q:I was doing curtain wall construction, would like to ask the next approach to the need to prepare what entry information ah. For example, what started the report ah, construction organization design ah what.
1, construction organization design; 2, curtain wall construction special security program; 3, a variety of materials factory certificate, the relevant test data, reports; 4, construction equipment, mechanical testing, testing reports; 5, the construction staff of various documents (such as practice, qualifications, job card) and so on.
