The color is universal and more importantly because there is light in the winter months they will be lined *( as you said energy saving ) to keep your room light and bright uplifting not dreary. You would also be able to use theses curtains in the summer months to keep heat out. If you would like to add a bit more detail, add a collection of toss pillows in a neutral color on your sofa. - Maybe a smallish pattern with all the colours in it take colour samples with you or get a sample of materials.Quite hard to match the exact red maybe and there are many sheds of white!

- Since there will be wide thing behind the curtains, I don't think a curtain rod is the answer because it would be flush to the wall and the curtains would bulge out to cover the stuff.So here's what might work. You can buy closet rod holders at Home Depot that will attach to the wall.Buy a curtain rod (metal),stick it through the curtains and then attach it in the holes. I would measure the file cabinets and boxes and then put the rod about 6 past them so the curtains will hang straight. Hope this makes sense. I think it will work

- If your trim is off white or white, then white or off white will be fine to keep the room lighter. If you have espresso or black tables or furniture then a black sheer looks good. You can go with a grey if you have grey accents throughout the room or if the green colour has a grey undertone, if not don't get grey as it will clash with the paint colour. You can always try to find a nice bold print that contains the wall colour and your accent colours with a white or off white background.
- Q: My apartment is really poorly insulated. The best way to fix that would be to get foam/injected insulation done but right now I can not afford it. I was thinking that there must be a place where you can get insulated curtains to hang on walls that are exposed to the exterior. Like those large commercial type curtains in office building that you would hang along an entire wall or foam board that you would stick to that wall.It wont be as efficient but it will keep me from paying a small fortune for heating while I save up for the insulation work.Thanks!
- We had that problem in my mom's 80 year old house on the side walls which were plaster without insulation. We bought 4' x 8' rigid foam insulation sheets (1 1/2 inch, I think) and wrapped them with burlap (you could use any fabric -- king-sized sheets from a discount store would be a cheap source of a lot of yardage). Then we stapled vinyl sheeting to the wall for a vapor barrier and fastened the panels to the wall with drywall screws through to the studs. It made a huge difference in keeping the rooms warm and the wrapped foam made a giant bulletin board that we could hang things on.

- I would do the walls a coffee/espresso colored if thats too dark then just do cream, tan or just white, white looks great making your house look more open, but if you want a cozy feeling paint it cream or offwhite or tan. I would use maroon and gold curtains, because i have a chocolate leather sectional sofa and i used maroon and gold curtains with beads hanging so you could do that
- Q: Like I said, my walls are a gold color (lions mane), red scarlet leather sofa and love seat, and medium brown colored coffee table and end tables. I hear that white curtains would make the walls look somewhat washed out, and red curtains will overpower the yellow walls due to their being too much red in the room. Any suggestions?
- Either cream or sage green would be lovely (but I'm voting for sage!). Just remember, whatever color you use should be repeated throughout the room to create a more cohesive look. Otherwise, the curtains will look like an after-thought. So, accessorize with throw pillows, vases, artwork, etc. that coordinate with your curtains, and your room will look beautiful!
