I can always take it somewhere for about $100.: Here's what you can do. Assuming that the Garmin has a MICRO USB port on the back, get a MICRO and MINI USB cable from Tiger electronics. The cable will have MICRO on one end, and MINI on the other. Next, get a Belkin USB adapter for a cigarette lighter. Next, go to a car stereo shop, and get a FEMALE end of a 12 volt power supply Next, get an add a circuit fusible tap (make sure you note if you have mini or regular blade fuses), get the right one. Using your owner's manual, find a fuse circuit that is switchable by ignition (the cigarette lighter one would work). Pull that fuse, and make sure you have the another one for the add a circuit. 12-18 is always best. Crimp the add a circuit tap to the female end of the 12 volt power supply. Find a clean ground, usually a screw on the fuseblock. Attach the ground wire using a loop spade tighten the screw down. Reinstall the add a circuit Turn ignition on, GPS should work Clean up the cable usually around the trim where the windshield meets the frame.
