Q: Doesn't have to be super powerful, just lifting about 100 pounds, frequently. I've already looked at the normal places, and they are all DC powered (car battery). I suppose it could also be manual.
Go on-line and look up Northern Tool. They have just about everything including an electric cable winch. Speaking of winches, do you want my ex, she has no power at all.
Q: I have a monitor which has a input rating of 100-240V and a 1.5A current. But I have a cable which gives out 250V and a 10A current.... The cable plugs into my monitor with no problem and it turns on just fine. But is it fine?
yup. Just plug it into a required power source (100-240V and a 1.5A current)
Q: Hi! I want to buy I new Hard Drive but I've got a problem. I have the IDE conector but I don't have the Power Cable. It is connected to my Video Card. Can I add a new one? Can I use a power cable from a optical drive(CD/DVD)? Thanks!
All you need to do is pop down to your local computer store and get a power splitter, just make sure you get the right type, IDE and SATA drives have a different kind of power connector, so just make 100% sure before you buy!
Q: So I have this monitor that only has ONE port on it, which is a USB cable slot. Typically you would connect it to a laptop, and the USB cord also supplies it power at the same time display connection.
I have not seen or read from any source that RCA cable can be used for power. It is designed for audio connection and video connection only. The wire are not designed for use with electrical power connection, it will over heat and the wires will melt. Hope this will help you out.
Q: While DISCONNECTED from the amp, I accidentally touched the power cable with the ground cable. Sparks went flying and I smelt a funny odor. Since then, when I go to turn on my radio, my amp only lights up for a second and then looses power. Unfortunately, I feel I've fried my ground wire (upon close inspection, the power/battery cables fuse is still good along with amp signal wire and RCA's) My question is simply this: When replacing my ground wire, can I use left over power/battery cable? I have about 3 feet left over from the install. Thank you for your help!!
Theoretically, yes. I would make sure I was the only one using the system or messing around with it just to make sure no one mistakes it for a power cord. Also, wrapping each end with black electrical tape will work to identify it is a ground cable, being that black is universally known for ground. If you feel like wasting good money, wrap the whole cord with black electrical tape. Also, keep it away from professional installers so they do not mix it up, or just let them know it is a ground. Just keep it short enough so that it actually works as a ground (most manuals recommend less than 3 feet)
Q: im hooking up a system in my truck..im doing it the redneck way they way i have watched my dad do it many of many of times. im using jumper cable wire!! yes jumper cable wire, its plenty of juice the perfect size! but im not sure if he ever used a fuse link.do you have too? what if i dont use one? if so where is the cheapest place to get it?what size fuse is it?
Any wire that you connect to your battery should have a fuse, located as close to the battery terminal as possible. Without a fuse, a short circuit on the wire could result in a fire. Most car audio stores should have fuses and fuse holders available. The size of the fuse depends on the size of the wire. An 8-gauge wire can be fused up to 50 amps; if your wire is 4-gauge, then you can go up to 120 amps or so.
Q: Our company needs a WELDING CABLE / DC POWER CABLE,50mm fine strand and color blue. Does anyone knows where to buy here in the Philippines? or if you know some suppliers, manufacturers please do let me know. It would help a lot. Thanks
You can buy it from okorder
Q: I just bought a new computer, a DELL Inspiron 530. It has none of the older 4-pin power cables from the power supply; only the newer SATA power devices. I have an older hard drive, that connects via IDE cables (the gray ribbon). Ive already bought the card that converts the IDE to SATA, and it is connected to the mother board. Here is the problem: the IDE Hard Drive is powered with the 4-pin power supply that Ive seen on EVERY power supply before this one. The IDE to SATA converter came with an extension for that 4-pin power supply. But the power supply in the tower DOESNT HAVE ANY 4-PIN POWER ADAPTERS. It has one free SATA power. Im looking to take the SATA power from my power supply, convert it to the old-style IDE 4-pin power supply (female) and plug it into the 4-pin extension (male) that powers my hard drive and SATA-IDE converter. Most converters go the other way... Please post links with examples of parts, since I cannot find anything that lets me do what I am looking to
The SATA motherboard uses probably ATX or MicroATX. These are motherboard independant, but for SATA drives you need a SATA power adapter (it converts the 4 wire MOLEX into a flat SATA power cable). Most SATA drives come with this or even the motherboard does. if your power supply is ATX and your Motherboard is ATX then it will work (granted the wattage is enough for all your devices).
Q: Whenever I unplug the power cable, the laptop starts to lag, bad, and yes I do have a fully charged battery. This has been happening ever since I got the thing, and no it has nothing to do with the battery, and no matter how many times I re-plug the cable and take it out again, or just leave it in, it continues to lag. The only time it stops is when I reboot, at least until I unplug it again. Also, it has nothing to do with the performance battery plan. Any ideas? This is really annoying.
Do you mean lag as in a slow OS. Well- Where is your SPEEDSTEP set at in your BIOS? You may have 3 or 2 settings which ARE affected when your Cable Power is removed it will go to a Bit Slower Processor Speed to prolong the battery. If after you change the settings in BIOS and it does this again, its likely need to be sent back for repair under Warranty as this is NOT Normal...
Q: My acer laptop's charger wire thing has broken and i wondered if you knew if you could buy them from shops and how much they'd be?
You okorder Unfortunately, without knowing your laptop model, I cannot give you a direct link. Best of luck.
