Q:Can you also give an example on what things are to be placed in a floor plan and floor finish plan. Thanks!
Floor plan is the whole layout of the house from bird's eye view. Floor finish is what you use to make the floors look good.
Q:I have a concrete floor in my basement. When I moved in, there was carpet, but we pulled it out (the padding had deteriorated too!). Anyway, I'm looking to seal the floor. I want Update : The carpet pad deteriorated from age (nearly 30 years - the owners 30
What caused the carpet & pad to deteriorate? Was it from age, wear or possibly from water damage? Before doing any painting of the floor you may want to determine if there is any moisture present, and I mean any. Most of the big home improvement stores will have a moisture test kit that you can use to test. Look in the sections with the laminate, hardwood and tile flooring for the test kits. The floor needs to be dry before doing any painting in most cases. Check for moisture before you waste your time & money painting... You could stain the floor with a concrete stain and then score lines in the concrete with a concrete saw to make the floor resemble tile. This method is a lot of work but it can give some great results if you take your time doing the work & if you can come up with a pattern....***:D
Q:The house is 20 years of the house, such as the title ~ ground edge plant delay dwarf dwarf coupons chilly cunning wet how to solve the problem, first coated with a layer of waterproof glue, then coated with little glue pollution. Or other suggestions, do not want to "move" more
Ground moisture is afraid of moisture to make the floor deformation, has always been waterproof PVC floor, the ground is not demanding, in the floor below the laying of moisture-proof pad can be planted late dwarf Jurassic coupons, not only will not live So that moisture affects life, and feet feel more soft and comfortable!
Q:I've looked at other answers and I think I need this explained in blonde language. Is there supposed to be an actual floor underneath a bathtub? Me and my fiancée have a place but the floor underneath the tub is nonexistant. Its basically a hole there. We live on the 2nd floor Tips and help would be great!
Don't sell yourself and blondes short. I hope there isn't a tub over the hole. If there is, I would also make the tub nonexistent at this point, for safety reasons. Water weighs 62.5 pounds per cubic foot. A full bathtub can weigh over 560 pounds from just the water in it (not including the tub and the occupant). The weight on the floor below can come close to 1000 pounds. This weight requires some very sturdy flooring underneath a tub. Often, builders will sister (run two joists side by side, attached to each other) joists running under a tub just to give additional strength. A hole in the floor does not sound encouraging at all. Since I'm not there with you, I can't see the hole and accurately judge exactly what condition your floor is in. Usually, holes under bathtubs are caused by water damage from a cracked tub, leaking drain, diverter, or supply plumbing. Whatever the source, the cause is almost always water damage. If you are renting, I would bring this to the attention of the landlord IMMEDIATELY. This is a serious safety issue. If he shrugs you off, remind him that if you drop in on your neighbor while bathing, he will face a lawsuit that will make fixing the floor seem like buying a pack of gum. If this is your place, get it fixed--NOW! Talk with a licensed framer about the problem. He is probably the best one for the money to address the issue.
Q:my mom is low on money and wants me to fix the floor by putting the tiles in our unfinished basement. i haven't done this before and i want some suggestions on how to do it and any advice i should know about doing this. its going to be the first floor put down in my basement so i wont have to tear anything out.
Ceramic or vinyl floor? Both will make a huge difference on what needs to be done. But the first thing you can do for either one is to sweep the floor completely and wash it several times to get all the fine dust and dirt thats there. Either floor must be flat and smooth. When you let me know which flooring you are doing , I ll be glad to guide you along. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q:My family is a new district, this year is the first year of heating. The use of collective heating in the home of the long pedicle short Li's mattress to warm, the hall is the tiles, the temperature can have 18 degrees to 20 degrees, but the room is the wood floor, the temperature is only about 13 degrees, the temperature difference is too large , DX can help you out where the problem is ah? More
The problem of heating is high and the height is lowered
Q:What are the defects in the floor?
What is the original design heating system?
Q:can I? or can i just stain a floor darker? how do i stain a floor is it toxic?
I'm thinking you're talking real wood flooring? Yes you can. Rent a professional type sander and sand all flooring until all present stain has been removed. Be sure to wear a mask and cover anything that's possible to cover as it can be a pretty messy job. However, I don't think it's anything you can't handle. After all old stain has been removed, be sure to wipe down with a damp cloth even if you have to do this a few times. You don't want any old sand left behind. You can either put a clear coat over flooring so it shows the natural color of the wood flooring or use a light stain. You may need a protective coat over stain, but you can ask about this at any hardware store that you'll be dealing with. There may be toxin's in stains, but I'm not sure about this. Another question to ask before starting your project. One way or the other wear a mask and you should be just fine.
Q:We never went trough them but got an assignment that involves it, I'm guessing point of this is to learn to research on your own. And I did but one of the questions is to prove floor(x)+floor(-x). I know it's always -1 unless x =N but how do I prove it?
Remember x can describe as integer part y and decimal part .ddddd or y.dddd the floor of y.dddd and -y.dddddd so floor of (y.dddd) is y (the next smaller number ) the floor of (-y.ddddd) = -y - 1 (the next smaller number) so along as .dddd is not zero . for positive x , floor(y.ddddd) = y for negative x, floor(-y.dddd) = -y - 1 so floor(x) + floor(-x) = y + (-y -1) = -1 However , when x is a whole number you have y + (-y) = 0
Q:im building a new one level home to sell and putting laminate flooring(good quality) throughout with the exception of the 2 bathhrooms(ceramic). im just trying to figure out if it would be at all weird to have the same flooring throughout...everywhere? i mean its open concept great room and then 3 bedrooms down a short hall. I thought maybe too much of one thing? or would it look weirder to stop at the doorways of bedrooms and change to a different colorr of laminate flooring?
An open floor plan would look ridiculous with different types of flooring. It would look like the jobs was done in different phases. A continuous look streamlines the area and also makes it look larger and more cohesive.
