Q:what means by special cement ? Example ? website ?
*Special Cements: It is used for a special application and are having special additives like some minerals. Example: 1.Rapid-setting High-strength Sulphoaluminate Cement, 2.Aluminate Cement, 3.White Cement 4.Special Inorganic Cements. 5.Anti acid cement (acid resistant cement) *** Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), has been used to reconstruct bone during surgery for at least 20 years.
Q:my son got some new posters and wants to hang them up. he has a very light blue (almost white) color painted on his walls (with panelling behind it) and i wanted to know if i could use rubber cement to hang them, or if it would damage the paint color after removal?
There are actually packages of little sticky balls (grey, consistency of gum) that you can use. The schools all use it to put posters up on their walls. It's the same stuff that comes with the glow-in-the-dark stars and planets that some kids put on their ceilings...
Q:Building materials distribution business projects can increase the cement products and steel it?
Building materials distribution business projects can increase the cement products and steel cement: water mixing into a plastic slurry, can cement sand, stone and other materials both in the air hardening and hardening in the water of the powder-like hydraulic cementitious material
Q:I dug out a place for fire pit. I thought some cement blocks would be good to keep things in order. I'm looking at circle, and I would like it to be about about 1-2/1 ft. tall. For these twigs and small limbs that keep falling out of my gag-gum pine trees. What u say?
Cement blocks will will break up under heat ,you are better off using fire bricks .
Q:I am building a box in the ground and need it water-proof.Whats the best mixure cement/sand, or should I use concrete? What differs cement/concrete? And how do you make it strong from cracking without steel enforcement?
About the only suggestions I can give you is to put a descent amount of granite gravel in with the cement and to mix it a little on the dry side. If you notice, old concrete from around the 1940's and earlier tends to hold up better than newer concrete. If you look at the old concrete in relation to new concrete it has larger gravel in it and it has more granite gravel in it. You don't want to put gravel such as limestone in it. Limestone will cause the concrete to break up during winter. A trick I learned off of a friend of mine who worked for a concrete company is to mix concrete on the dry side. A dryer concrete mix instead of a soupy one will tend to be stronger and last longer.
Q:Our pool liner ripped!! our pool is custom 11ft deep. we drained the pool we are removing the water from behind the liner. We are trying desperatly to make this liner last one more summer! Of course it ripped down at the 11 ft area. but the rip only runs along the top edge of the lip that snaps into the metal ring around the pool. I came up with the idea of using rubber cement to cement the ripped liner to the steel wall. Is this possible?? we just can't shell out 3,700.00 for a liner right now and its HOT the kids are driving us insane to try something ANYTHING does anyone have anybetter ideas?? we are open to any ideas! thanks
Rubber cement might work but I'm thinking a heavy duty silicone adhesive like Goop might do it . Another thought is to patch the rip with rubberized vinyl shower pan liner using the seam welding glue that they sell(available at HD or Lowes)Good Luck!
Q:So I got my spacers and brackets put on at the orthodontist next week they're putting in the wires and finishing all that. They put cement on 2 bottom molars so my brackets wont break and come intact. I cannot eat and I'm in pain. Will they remove this cement when I go get my wire put in? The cement doesnt let me eat and its not even. Should I tell my ortho, that its completely uncomfortable and painful? Please I need answers! Lol.
the cement on the molars acts as a bite block so that your teeth dont touch eachother.this will help to put the brackets and faster movement of teeth will take place as the upper and lower teeth dont touch each other. once the initial alignment of teeth is done in 8-10 weeks, the cement will be removed. till then take soft diet like soup, noodles, pasta, milk, juices etc. pain will go away in 3-4 days time.
Q:I am wanting to add a cement patio on to my house and in order to build a $6000 patio, I have to pay a $5000 road bond to the village does that make sense
Bonds are not insurance. What they are asking for is that you provide a bond to promise to pay up to $5000.00 if the cement truck damages the roads it is travelling on. You go to a bonding company (sometimes your insurance company will provide the bond), pay them a fee for providing the bond and have the work done. If the truck damages a road, the bonding company will pay out up to $5000.00 for the damage, then you will have to reimburse the bonding company for it's outlay. Bonds are NOT insurance.
Q:What type/brand of contact cement is the best (best being the strongest) for 1quot; schedule 80 PVC pipe? The PVC pipe will be under a high amount of pressure, And from what I have read on-line the fittings are the most common to fail under high pressure. So I would like to get the strongest glue made so I don't have to worry with it for a few years. Also Im looking for tips on how to prep and glue the fittings for the strongest hold possible. Thanks for your time!
I like Oatey brand Regular clear Advanced cement for PVC. Use a PVC primer first which is usually purple let dry then using the applicator supplied in the can of cement apply a thin even layer to the outside of the pipe and then to the inside of the fitting. Working time is around 30-45 seconds. Insert the pipe into the fitting than give it a half turn. Using excessive amounts of cement is not better. The even layer you have applied will be evenly distributed with the turn of the fitting. GL
Q:Okay, I made a boo boo and drove into a short brick wall (decorative) next to my driveway. I knocked a chunk of about 4 bricks off and now I want to simply stick them back on for as little as possible (labor and cost). The chunk sits nicely on the rest on the wall where it was and really shouldn't go anywhere, but I just want to have a nice fix. Could I just squirt some Great Stuff in there and hold it down for a few minutes?I was just hoping to use something around the house (not cement)Thank you so much in advance!
cement is your best answer. Mortar to be exact. Anything else is a poor substitution to the right product for the job
