Q: how much to insulate and drywall an attic?
Really? Calling medical personnel corpsemen? repeatedly?.Saying that children with asthma should use a Breathalyzer or an inhalator?.Telling us he went to all 57 states on the campaign trail? Yeah this wiz kid is a genius isn't he?.lol you fail.
Q: I want to dye a white blanket navy blue
Make sure the blanket isn't made of polyester which does not accept dye very wellIf it's cotton, rayon or any other natural fiber it will dye fine but thigs you dye yourself (especially blues) tend to fade fairly quickly just from washing normallyIt helps if you put lots of salt in the water when you dye it but it will still fadeBlues just aren't very colorfast.
Q: I live in MN and its cold, like 5-17 degrees each day sometimes warmer, i bought my mare a 1200denier tough 1 blanket and she seems like she might be to hot at times, i just put it on her 2days ago, she has her winter coat and it s healty weight, the bad thing is she seems alittle sweaty on her chest! Should i bring in the stall for the night and take of her blanket, so she can get used to the colder temps again and then only put the blanket on during windy, snowy, blizzardy conditions? Because im just concered its to much blanket.THANKS ! Any advice would be appreciated:)
I have a horse that sweats with a blanket on tooWhen the old horses have their sheets on, the younger ones have non (Sonny is younger, 6 YO and the other is 7 YO- CaseyThe 2 ponies (7 and 14) don't get blanketedThe old ones are 24, 27, and 28 YO)When the old ones get their heavy blankets on (usually in the 20s or below), Casey gets his medium sheetWhen Casey gets his heavy blanket (usually in the - numbers), Sonny gets his medium sheet onThat's all he ever gets in the winterHe doesn't need anything moreWhen it was 10? out he had his heavy sheet and he was soaked with sweatSome horses just don't need big thick blankets like thatSome do, usually older horses thoughI wouldn't put a 400gram blanket on her in those temperaturesWhen it gets 10? or below I would, otherwise I'd keep a 200gram on her if you can300gram may be ok, but 200gram preferablyHope this helps! ) -Fresh-Paint-

Losing weight is 70% diet, 30% exerciseSo you need some exercise30 minutes a day, if you want to lose weight bad enough, you'll make the timeTips: 1) Go vegetarianFirst cut out everything but chicken and fish, then stop eating thatWatch Food, Incto practically instantly go vegetarian2) Count caloriesTo lose weight you have to eat less calories than you usually do3) Drink tons of waterIt makes you feel full4) Make a list of small goals, and big onesReward yourself5) Be restrictive every day and have one day off (but still, no junk food)6) Fruit is good! The sugar is naturalPretty soon a strawberry will look like a chocolate cakeTake care of your body, eat good foods, and you'll get results.
Q: hello everyonei was just wondering, can the birth control pill cause bloating and water retention?and if it does, can going from a low fiber diet to a high fiber diet make it worse?i'm on the pill, and i have overhauled my diet, and i am finding that i get blaoted whenever i eatany thoughts or suggestions?thanks in advance :)
Short answer: yes, the pill can sometimes cause the side effect of feeling bloatedAs for water retention, not as likelyBut jumping to a high fiber diet can, much more frequently than the pill, cause the sensation of bloating High fiber often equals higher gas production, especially if you suddenly increase the fiber in your dietDon't stop eating fiber, thoughWhat you might do is try to increase it by about 5 gper week over 4 weeks to an ideal 25g./day for an adultThat will make it a bit easier on your systemAlso, watch the sodium in your dietShoot for 2g/day maxHigh sodium can cause you to retain fluids.
Q: I just recently started to crochet and knit once again and I decided to crochet my very first blanket!!! I decided to do the granny square method and then to connect them once I completed a row of themMy blanket is turning out nice especially since it is my first crocheted blanket but the only problem that I am having is that it is pretty heavy for a blanketI think that it may have something to do with the type of yarn I am using (RED HEART/ SUPER SAVER) or possibly the amount of granny squares that I have but I read that I should have over 100 of themAny suggestions as to how to make my next blanket lighter? My next project is a baby blanket and I would love suggestions on what type of yarn to useThank you so much for helping me with my craft:)
Use a bigger hookWhat that does is make the granny squares larger for the same number of rounds so it takes fewer squares to cover the same areaAlso, it puts space into the stitches-they are looser and trap more airTherefore you have a warmer blanket for the same weight or a lighter weight blanket for the same warmthYou can also use a loftier yarn than Red Heart Super SaverIt's fairly tight yarnAll-wool yarn is loftier for its weight than acrylic yarn, and some acrylics are loftier (Vanna's Choice) than others (Super Saver)Mash a length between your finger and thumbIf it's lofty, it will flatten and then expand when you turn looseRed Heart Super Saver will stay just like it is, indicating little loftDisclaimer: Red Heart Super Saver is not my favorite yarn to useHowever, it comes in tons of colors and gorgeous color blendsIt's easy care-it will survive machine washing and machine drying numerous times and keep right on keeping you warmIn fact, it gets softer with washing and drying, particularly if you use a fabric softener (which sinks right in to the yarn and improves it)The trick I have found to using Red Heart Super Saver is to use stitches that work with the yarn and to use a bigger hook or needle than the ball-band calls forDouble crochet does better than single crochet, for example; loose stitch patterns do better than tight patternsWhat you're doing is adding loft in the stitches to compensate for the lack of loft in the yarnEdited to add: The number of squares you need for a blanket is determined by two things: (1) The size of each finished square, with edging(2) The size you want your blanket100 squares that average 4 in diameter will give you a throw that's 40 x 40-about a meter square-arranged 10 squares across and 10 squares downIf they are 5 in diameter, the throw will be 50 x 50, which is a very large throwMost squares average between 4 and 5 with the edgingFor a baby blanket, you'd want to use a sport-weight (Category 3) yarn.
