Q:My year old Bissell vacuum is starting to not work so well. It has way less suction than it used to and it makes weird sounds. Our upstairs is all hardwood linoleum so all I'm using it for my crazy 6' X 9' rug in the living room. Maybe all that cat hair is extra hard on vacuums? I don't know why I can't find one that will last. The one I had before this was a Eureka and it still had suction, but the rotating brush in the front broke out after 3 years of use. And it was used in an all carpeted house. What I love about my vacuum most is the compartment in the front that lets me easily dump out the dust instead of having to change a bag. But how to I search through the various upright vacuum cleaners to find one that isn't going to die after a year? Some of them say they are designed for many years, but how do I know what is real in those advertisements? Can any of you tell me what you use and how long it has worked for you? Thanks.
Only okorder / for more information! Many to chose from! Good luck on finding one that works well for you!
Q:I think my little brother (almost 20 months old) has Zuigerphobia. I know I'm being stupid, but I'm just curious. Is there a high chance that my brother will grow up with Zuigerphobia or Ligyrophobia? Or will it pass over, like for most people? I don't want him to be in his 30's, hiding in fear of the world.
Lol he will probaly be fine. He is just a little kid who is probaly startled by the loud noises the vacuum makes. As he gets older he will learn it is nothing to be afraid of. In the mean time just vacuum when he is not home
Q:this house s covered in dirt. im 20 with a 2yr old daughter and almost 16 weks preg with our 2nd. my husband is 22, we live with his dad and sister because mu husbands job keeps cutting hours and hes not making enough to get our own place, and i know some people will be like well if you dont have money to get your own place why have another kid...well i was on birth control both times ok!!! and i dont do abortion, and if i have a child i am going to keep it and take responsiblity and not jut give it away ok!...anyway back to the question...so i want to clean this house, it makes me so mad with how gross it is...everything gets dusty super fast and the carpets always have dirt in them. Our vacuum broke, so is there a way for me to clean all this without a vacuum???
do you know why your vacuum broke? If you have internet access, which I assume you do, you can find instructions for your machine on line. I recently fixed mine by replacing the belt. It only cost 3.99 and it's like a new machine. Are all the filter clean etc. Unless it's the motor, a lot of things can be easy to fix without replacing the vacuum. I have 2 young children so I know it can seem daunting to take on a task like fixing it yourself but it was surprisingly easy. Would a friend lend you their vacuum for an hour?
Q:Anyone have any experience with a Dyson?
Consumer reports just rated a Hoover upright much higher for performance than the Dyson. You can check them out on line. I use a Swiffer broom vac for my hardwood floors because all vacuum cleaners have hard rubber or plastic bottoms that scratch.
Q:I am about to purchase a new vacuum cleaner. Does anyone have any good advice on a good brand?
If you're willing to spend some money, Dyson vacuum cleaners are great. They sell them at Target. Don't buy a Kenmore, unless you want to drive out to Sears every time you need a new filter.
Q:Can anyone give me the manufacturers contact in Malaysia pls?
Contact trade associations or to get offers from suppliers of vacuum cleaners,
Q:My vacuum has the ability to fill air matresses, so all that I need is an entention to fill a sport ball. I'd rather that over an electric ball pump because they're priced at $60+ and probably not as good!
No. You could rig something though. Do you have 100 balls to fill or something? It takes very little time to fill a ball by hand.
Q:Dogs, toddlers, or women?
Toddlers. When my younger brother was a toddler(he's now 8), my older brother would tell him that the vacuum was going to suck his brains out and he was terrified. It took a few years for him to get over it. I now have a 1.5 yr old sister and she too is afraid of the vacuum, although she hasn't been told about it's brain-sucking powers. I can't remember any of us other kids being afraid, but we might have been. I've never met or heard of a dog who was afraid of the vacuum, though.
Q:What value does Voltage indicate for vacuum suction?
You need to explain this better, it makes no sense as it is. edit: no way to know exactly. Voltage alone tells you nothing. But the power used (in watts) could be a guide, if you have that number, in watts. 1400 mA-hour is a measure of the charge stored in the battery, so that is no help, as you need a time number to convert that to mA, which, with the voltage, can give you power in watts. My experience is that hand held vacuum cleaners are all very feeble.
Q:Where can i find the vacuum cleaners listed in the consumer reports?
If you go online to Consumer Reports you can access their archive files for a fee. However, you can get the info free if you go to your local library and ask the reference desk for that report.
