- Q: How should I wire my 4 speakers to connect them to my 2 channel amp? Speakers are all 4 ohms, wattage matches, amp is 2 ohm stable. I realize they need to be wired in parallel but that doesn't mean anything to me. Looking at diagrams it seems like I will need a wire running between my front door speakers and a similar wire between the speakers in the rear deck. Rear deck would be easy but not from door to door. I also realize my ability to fade will be gone Any help will be much appreciated.

- 1) pull out the speaker covers by using a flat head screwdriver. 2) push off the covers. 3) in the trunk push out the clips in back of the speaker holder. 4)remove the holder and replace it on the new speakers. 5)snap the speaker holder back in and replace the covers 6) next your going to have to wire it up and your done.

- because if your speakers are lets say 150watts RMS total all 4, and our radio is 50watts output, thats about 14watts rms each, 1/3 the wattage the speakers need to be fully powered. also, the amp gives you cleared more indept sound. you cant compair the quality of an amped speaker set to a non amped speaker set.

- You should always run speakers that can handle double what the head unit will put out. I'm not sure how many watts the factory stereo is but let's say you have a head unit that puts out 50x4. That means each speaker is getting 25 watts of power. If that is the case then a speaker that has an RMS of 50-80 watts would be ideal. If you have an amp then you will have to calculate your speaker selection by how many watts your amp is putting out. If your Camaro has the premium sound package then you already have an amp and possibly a sub. My Z28 has a Bose setup with an 8 sub in the back. If that's the case then you would want to look for a speaker that can handle about 50 watts RMS.

- Speakers don't have a flat response. It usually looks like a trapezoid ----- / The 50--50K speakers have a far more flat response within 20-20K than 150-20K speakers.

- Go ahead and install it. Your factory speakers should hold up just fine. If they do blow, then you'll know you need new speakers.

- There's no reason why not; but most home speakers are 8-ohm, which will reduce the output power of your car stereo or amplifier. Car audio equipment is generally designed to work with 4-ohm speakers. It's not unsafe to use it with 8-ohm speakers, but the power will be reduced.

- Is it the speakers or the sound card? it's 2 different things. Speakers repair will be cheap. If you have onboard soundcard (commonly) well, may be it's quite expensive.
