Q:, speaker, and amp?: wattage comes in two flavors Peak-to-peek and RMS. A speaker is rated in OHMS. A 2 ohm speaker that is driven by a 50 watt amp - will be MUCH LOUDER than an 8 ohm speaker, driven by that same amp. You actually can damage a speaker with an UNDER-POWERED amp as well what happens is the AMP can't keep up with the power demand so it DUMPS all it's wattage in spurts which can damage your VOICE COIL(S). A sub-woofer is a speaker or set of speakers which has a very low FREQUENCY BAND. they often require more WATTAGE to provide the same output when compared to BASS speakers or MID-RANGE speakers. I don't think you have 6x9 speakers in the rear, though; most Civics use 6-1/2 speakers on the rear deck. Even then, the stock speaker is very, very shallow; you'll need to use a spacer bracket to fit most after-market speakers in the same space.

The main issue is that the factory installed (usually) speakers needing far less power to drive them and as such you will need to turn it up to reach a similar sound level. be advised you CAN exceed the potential of the stock radio and get horrible sound as the Total harmonic distortion at that power level from the stock radio will cause poor sound. just don't go nuts on a high end set of pioneer speakers and you'll be happy.

Q:Can anyone help me find out where I can get a speaker switch box. I need to attach a LG blu Ray player to a 5.1 channel Home theater speaker set. (Not subwoofers, 4x8 speakers)Or The Rockford Fosgate Punch P2002.: Speakers for cars are 4 ohms when two of them are parallel they run @ 2 ohms drawing twice the amps from an amp. It's not about if the Speakers can handle 2 ohms. Any speaker able to handle 200 RMS will work for your needs. Ohms have more to do with what your amp can handle.

Q:i have an 87 monte carlo ss which came with 2, 4 speakers in the dash , i want to run 1 new 6 1/2 speaker on both doors. Q:all of them but one are not working,i took out the speaker and but 2 others there to see if it was the speaker and it still didnt work, then i took out my radio and checked all the wires and nothing, i also noticed when i had the bare wired for the speaker out that when they touch metal all of my other speaker quit working and only my sub was working, what could i do: That speaker is probably blown. If its a new speaker then its defective. When u touch the naked wires together and the other speakers shut off that's normal. That tells me that the speaker is getting power. So It can only be the speaker that is the problem.

Q:Anyone have experience with RV's and outdoor speakers? Recently bought a 27ft Class C and will be having a pretty good radio (carry Sirius) and amp installed. My brother wants to have a set of outdoor speakers powered by the radio for when we sit outside. All intelligent thoughts and ideas appreciated. Name some make and models if you want. The speakers would not be permanently placed to the side of the rv but maybe?? the mounts would be. Also the speakers don't have to be permanently attached to the radio, they could be connected to a plug coming from the rear of the stereo???? Anyway.: I have not seen any outdoor type speaker for vehicles like home audion. Car audio speaker are normally 4 OHM and home speakers in the 8 OHM (requires more power to drive). You can purchase a set of car speakers and build your own box to hold them and install to the side of your rv. Make your that you do not overload the power amp by adding another set of speakers, you can put a plug on one set of speaker from the rv and unplug it when using the outside speaker. This is the most inexpensive way, try name brand speakers like JBL, Infinity, MTX, JL for quality sound and dependability. Hope this helps and good luck.

Q:Hey,I've got 4 speaker all 200 watts @8 ohm, what would be the best way to connect them to a 2 channel amplifier? do I need a crossover?: Wire two speakers in parallel for each channel. This will give you a 4 ohm load for each channel. Speaker 1 and speaker 2 put the + wires together and plug them in channel 1 + (red) speaker post then twist the - negatives together and put them in channel 1 - negative or Black speaker post Repeat above for speaker 3 and 4 in Channel 2
