- Q: the piercing i want is the double cartilage. people call them different things, but the most common (i guess) is scaffold. my uncle said that after its in your ear a long time the weight from the bar weighs down your ear and the cartilage gets weak and kinda is like bent. has this happend to anyone? or is he lying? cam it happen?

- The best thing to use is sea salt soaks: Add 1/4 of a teaspoon of Sea salt (available in supermarkets) to a mug of kettle boiled water, mix and leave to cool slightly before applying it to the piercing. For this particular piercing it may be best to dip and soak your ear in the cup of solution and leave it there until the water cools. After this rinse away any excess salt, dry carefully, with a cotton bud gently remove any crusty bits and avoid touching it at all, especially with dirty hair/shampoo and conditioner etc. Do this twice a day for a few months after which you can cut down to doing it just once a day and just rinse it with the warm water in the shower.

- no...but i got a hoop on my cartilage......but when i first got it pierced it was a stud..the woman that peirced it for me used a gun so i got a stud......after a few weeks(about 7)i took the stud off and replaced it with a hoop
