You shouldn't take them out until they're fully healed. It's a type of scarring from the piercing. Do sea salt soaks twice a day, keep it clean, don't touch it, and it'll be fine! I have a scaffold too - congrats on the new piercing!

Q: does it hurt more than just getting your lobes pierced or the same?i just got a my ears pierced (so now i have two lobe piercing on each ear) it didn't hurt.i'm not sure if i should get it or not.: It is one of the more painful ear cartilage piercings and, as such, hurts more than getting your lobes pierced. Q: id like to know how painful it is, how long it takes to heal, how its done *all i know is that they use a needle* and any other information i need 2 know.: no...but i got a hoop on my cartilage......but when i first got it pierced it was a stud..the woman that peirced it for me used a gun so i got a stud......after a few weeks(about 7)i took the stud off and replaced it with a hoop
