Q: Ive been thinking of subscribing to some magazines, I don't know much about gardening but I'd like to start one next spring, vegetables and flowers, and I'll prolly be planting some stuff this fall too (tulips! maybe other stuff too?) So some magazines with lots of information and tips would be nice. I was thinking of getting better homes and gardens, but I'm not sure, maybe that and another one.. Any suggestions?
In Australia, Gardening Australia Burkes Backyard, mags.
Q: What careers are involved in with Gardening? Can you answer these please ASAP!!
yes there are several careers opportunities are available in gardening field mostly in horticultural industry for those who love spending hours in the garden...The gardening industry offers a range of opportunities for growing a career. There are groundskeepers, landscapers, landscape architects, arborists, horticulturists, and greens keepers, just to name a few. Many in these industries are employed by companies, but a strong number are also small business owners who have gone on to open their own home garden centers, florist shops or landscaping service companies. The average wage for most landscaping and gardening jobs ranges from about $10 an hour for entry level jobs, on up to $18 an hour for more senior positions....!!

Q: I heard a while back that weeds actually end up helping other plants grow because they die and become a fertilizer. I recently tried to look more into this, and all I can find is a bunch of gardening sites talking about how to control/kill weeds. I realize that weeds are probably bad in home gardens, etc.. I am wondering if they serve a role in forests or something of that nature.
Nettles have always been known as good for the ground because they put in many nutrients. However, weeds are really just plants that are in the wrong place. The trouble is that they can overtake the plants you do want to grow if left unchecked. I suggest you look for wild flower garden seeds if you want a natural garden.

Q: Their was this recipe that was in home and garden a long time ago...it was pretty much chicken lemon juice parsley spinach and orzo..except that my family and i don't remember the measurements so it never comes out right anymore. Does anyone remember this recipe? If so could u please share? Thank you :)
i okorder . INGREDIENTS 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 cloves garlic 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper 2 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into bite-size pieces salt to taste 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley 2 cups fresh spinach leaves grated Parmesan cheese for topping DIRECTIONS Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add orzo pasta, cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until al dente, and drain. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, and cook the garlic and red pepper 1 minute, until garlic is golden brown. Stir in chicken, season with salt, and cook 2 to 5 minutes, until lightly browned and juices run clear. Reduce heat to medium, and mix in the parsley and cooked orzo. Place spinach in the skillet. Continue cooking 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until spinach is wilted. Serve topped with Parmesan cheese. 4 servings
Q: Mainly to see a celebrity from the animal planet? Since we are renting , we can't really buy and landscaping stuff or anything.
It is your decision on how bad you want to see the show. How much is it worth to you? I own a home but I have never bothered to go to one because I feel they are a waste of money.
Q: Me and my wife just finished moving in to our first home and we want to have a vegetable garden next Summer. Problem is we both know absolutely NOTHING about gardening. Neither of us ever did any growing up, nor did our parents really do much either.I was hoping the community here could give some good tips to help us get started. We a do not have a ton of space, probably from a rough estimate I did a minute ago 12x50 at the max and that would need to include walking space since most of it is our side yard. We also live in Ohio so winter will need to be accounted for. If possible we would really like to do tomatoes and I have heard we may be able to grow them off the side of our garage saving us some space, and zucchinis would also be nice! Outside those we are open to any suggestions.Anyways if anyone has helpful websites, step by step guides, general tips, advice on fertilizers or pesticides to use/not use all of it is appreciated, since as I said we are completely ignorant on this subject!
According to me you take the guidance of special companies which provides healthy foods for public and good in this field.
Q: Any company which can provide and install stepping stones for my home garden? I am living in N17, London.
Any company that sells soil and mulch should also sell pavers for the garden and they may also offer an installation service. Check your local listings for 'garden supplies'.
Q: how can i get rid of black algae in garden pond?
Wish I knew how big of a pond it is that you have. The pond that I made is 5 foot long by 3 feet wide and 3 feet deep. Here is what I did,now bare in mind I only had algae on the sides. I wiped down the entire sides of the pond, did a water change. But then my pond was cloudy. I waited 2 days and went and got a small bottle of clear all(sold in aquarium stores, cost $2). 3 days of adding this and I have not had a problem since. Crystal clear and can see everything in the pond. And this is with a pond that is wide open to the sun, getting 12 plus hours of sunlight daily.Plus my pond has a sponge filter and a power head to circulate the water. We just went through 1 of the hottest July's on record with temps in the low to mid 90's just about every day. There is also barley straw that can be used and is sold at pond centers. But I heard it takes about a month before seeing any results. Hope this helps
