Q:we have a large rear garden, which runs from our cottage to the village mere, we have always left it as grass to allow our 3 children space to let them run about etc, but now they are growing up we as a family want to create a more structured space, and include maybe decking, paving a fire pit etc, but I have no idea where to get inspiration from!! are there any websites any one is aware of that show you before and afters, or ideas to help do this? we would probably carry out the work ourselves rather than get someone in. thanks.

Q:I live in South Texas and am home gardening. My plots are so-so.For example: Planted corn in March, it is under two feet. Two month-old Okra is four inches high. The watermelons are just sitting there.I had some good results from some beans, but overall, it's not doing much. How about anyone else?
I live in northern minnesota and I planted some radishes and onions and they are up. We still might get another frost so I'm waiting a while to put the rest in.
Q:This a 3bed room 2 bath mobil doublewide 2800sq ft. Situated on 5.12acr of land. There is a Barn a tool shop and tractor shed on the property. recreation on property include a fish lake with all brackish water fish and a picknick/camping area.
Depends on where it's located and the age of the double-wide. In Southern California, $750,000. In upland South Carolina, $150,000. Give or take, because double-wides deteriorate and depreciate in value, unlike houses. And the housing market is still at a low ebb in most parts of the country. The best estimate: Look up your property tax listing--that should be close to the pre-recession value. If you are selling, estimate 80% of the pre-recession value as your lowest selling price. Then call a real-estate agent (preferably a licensed Realtor) and ask for his or her best estimate.
Q:I'm getting married soon and I really don't know a whole lot about cooking. I did find a Better Homes and Gardens Red Checked Newlywed Edition cookbook. Thankfully it has no red checks! It looked good, with information on setting up your first kitchen and color pics explaining different utensils, but I was wondering if the recipes were any good. Has anyone recently bought/ received/ used this or similar cookbooks? It's $30 so I would really like to know before I spent that much $. Please and thank you!
Good Housekeeping Illustrated Cookbook, Betty Crocker, and Joy of Cooking. But since you're a newlywed, try Cooking in the Nude series by Debbie and Steve Cornwell, Howell Press. A friend got us the Quickies cookbook and it really does have fast, good recipes. Plus it cost under $10. Sample some of these recipes: A Saucy Affair, Fetish-ini, Vealing Lusty, and Voulez-Vous Vinaigrette. Seriously, it's a very cute cookbook with good recipes. Great for newlyweds, bridal shower or, in our case, anniversary gift.
Q:Me and my wife just finished moving in to our first home and we want to have a vegetable garden next Summer. Problem is we both know absolutely NOTHING about gardening. Neither of us ever did any growing up, nor did our parents really do much either.I was hoping the community here could give some good tips to help us get started. We a do not have a ton of space, probably from a rough estimate I did a minute ago 12x50 at the max and that would need to include walking space since most of it is our side yard. We also live in Ohio so winter will need to be accounted for. If possible we would really like to do tomatoes and I have heard we may be able to grow them off the side of our garage saving us some space, and zucchinis would also be nice! Outside those we are open to any suggestions.Anyways if anyone has helpful websites, step by step guides, general tips, advice on fertilizers or pesticides to use/not use all of it is appreciated, since as I said we are completely ignorant on this subject!
You will love to grow yellow tomatoes. They are easy. Again less work. They will come out great. They will be a great conversation piece around your house. My freezer always has some stuffed bell peppers inside. Whenever my wife (or myself) doesn’t feel like cooking, unexpected guest, after a late night of partying/dancing, or listening to jazz at a locate club, in goes some stuffed bell peppers. She stuffs them with shrimp, sausage, hamburger, or ham/potato.
Q:Tell me in short about your food gardening methods. With summer coming around, this is the perfect time to start a home vegetable garden.
Have you thought about signing up for a box scheme? Companies like Riverford Organics do boxes of assorted veg, plot to plate style. As with an ordinary garden, you don't get much choice about what you get, it's all seasonal produce. An allotment might work, but you'd need to make a major commitment, and since they've become more fashionable there could be a waiting list. An alternative that worked for a relative of mine would be to approach your local voluntary work bureau and ask about the possibility of helping an elderly person with their garden in return for the use of a veg patch. He got into it by accident as the old gent next door had a veg patch, but couldn't take care of it following a hip replacement and offered him a share of the produce if he'd help out with the digging and heavy work, which suited both of them.
Q:to control insects etc, on vegetables and herbs.
1 cup of cig butts, soak in 1 qt warm h20 over nite,,strain, use spray bottle,,wks great
Q:How do I plant a delicious Herb garden? I’d like to pick home-grown herbs for my daily salad.
Hey okorder /
Q:I was at a home party a couple years back where it was like a tupperware party, but with home decor items. It was very classy and gorgeous items, but for the life of me I cannot remember the company name... I want to get into selling home decor type items myself, and join a company to do it... but I can't seem to find any companies in Canads (Ontario) that are like this... cna you help me out?
I think Home and Garden also went out of business. I loved these types of parties, but I think what happens in the long run is that people don't need home interiors stuff all the time and they don't purchase from the same company all the time. So hard to get return buyers consistently. If you are going to do it because you love it and not really worried about make huge money...then go for it. Work with a direct sale home decor company. I really believe in direct sales...so you can make your own schedule. Try looking at the Direst Sellers Association Web Site. Members of this association are running their businesses under strict standards. They should have a list on their web site. Also research the company’s compensation plan. How you get paid. Some companies are much better than others. Best companies only promote you when you help you team members grow their business. Should have a bonus pay out to you if one of your team members does better than you. This encourages a good work ethic. The way some companies compensation plans work...it sort of hinders the sponsor from helping the team member do to well. If they pass their sponsor by the sponsor will lose money...so sponsor may not encourage great success for team member. Also look at the company’s products and try to pick a company that offers some sort of product that people need to purchase again and again. Repeat buyers are so much easier to market to then trying to find new buyers all the time. Do you research and take the extra time. You will be happy in the end. Consider my company Arbonne. They are available in Canada and I would be happy to sponsor you. I am from Windsor, Ontario and visit often to see family. Live Happy, Karen Harrington
Q:thinking of starting a vegetable garden in east texas when i move there in a couple weeks. what kinds of veggies would do well in the heat/sun? should I water every day, twice a day? any info much appreciated!
Based on what is available at the Farmer's Market in Tyler each summer, you can grow just about any of the common summer crops. My wife all ready has her tomatoes , peppers and lettuce in the ground.
