Q: He is currently incarcerated at SCI Camp Hill, PA, awaiting reclassification to a quot;Homequot; facility. Getting him a subscription should wait until he's transferred to whatever facility he is assigned to for the balance of his time to be served.
Inmates get magazines all the time...(I work at a magazine company)
Q: I made hundreds when I lived in the states from a old copy of BHG that was at the restaurant I worked at. I would like to make one but can't remember the recipe (never that that'd be possible). It didn't have cornstarch I know that it just used flour....anyone please???
2-2/3 cups milk 1 cup sugar 1/3 cup cornstarch Dash salt 2 beaten eggs 1 tablespoon vanilla 1-1/2 cups coconut, toasted 1 recipe Baked Pastry Shell (see recipe below) Whipped cream (optional) Directions 1. Prepare Baked Pastry Shell. Cool. Meanwhile, for filling, in 2-quart saucepan, cook and stir the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt over medium-high heat until bubbly. Cook and stir for 2 minutes more. Remove from heat. 2. Gradually stir about 1 cup of the hot mixture into the beaten eggs. Return all of the mixture to the saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil; reduce heat. Cook and stir for 2 minutes. Stir in vanilla. 3. Sprinkle coconut into pastry shell. Top with filling. Cover with plastic wrap and chill about 3 hours or until set. To serve, dollop with whipped cream and sprinkle with additional coconut, if you like. Makes 8 servings. Baked Pastry Shell: Stir together 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Using a pastry blender, cut in 1/3 cup shortening until pieces are pea-size. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon cold water over part of the mixture; gently toss with a fork. Push moistened dough to the side of the bowl. Repeat moistening dough, using 1 tablespoon cold water at a time, until all the dough is moistened (4 to 5 tablespoons cold water total). Form dough into a ball. On a lightly floured surface, use your hands to slightly flatten dough. Roll dough from center to edge into a circle about 12 inches in diameter. To transfer pastry, wrap it around the rolling pin. Unroll pastry into a 9-inch pie plate. Ease pastry into pie plate, being careful not to stretch pastry. Trim pastry to 1/2 inch beyond edge of pie plate. Fold under extra pastry. Crimp edge as desired. Generously prick bottom and side of pastry in pie plate with a fork. Prick all around where bottom and side meet. Line pastry with a double thickness of foil. Bake in a 450 degree F oven for 8 minutes. Remove foil. Bake 5 to 6 minutes more or until golden. Cool on a wire rack.
Q: Wrong Section. I know. I'm just having a hard time getting answers from logical places. So what do you think. Would you garden a 10' X 10' garden or a 20' X 25' garden, for example. Why or why not? Thanks!
I would love to tend a garden or farm, the bigger the better. I would especially like to grow vegetables. Some of the best vegetables I ever tasted were from someone's home garden. I don't have much of a green thumb, but I catch on fast and think if I applied myself I'd be a great gardener or famer.
Q: expiration of packaged zinnea seeds
Do Seeds Expire
Q: ...and Yahoo believes this should go in Home Garden Cleaning Laundry? Well, I had a different spin cycle in mind, but...ok...
after a hard day at work i like to unwind by fishing
Q: I need some home decor advice. I will be purchasing a light grey sofa with a glossy black wood coffee table and I will be purchasing a rug to place underneath. Since I want to keep my rug neutral, what advice would you recommend as in the patterns, what color will it look best with my sofa and table? Thanks!
Jute Rugs, jute furniture and jute furnishings are also the best option for home decor while giving natural look to your home.
Q: I mean like what does one have that the other doesn't and so forth
For one Chief Architect is something like 2 grand. If you aren't an Architect with a specific purpose for having Chief then I would stick with a consumer level product like the Better Homes one you mentioned.
Q: ive had my turtle for 5years since i found him outside my house.and he is getting too big for his tank.i took him to a place where they take animals in that need a home til they let them free but they said hes been kept in captivity too long so now i don't know where to take him. does anybody have any ideas or if busch gardens would take him?
No they do not take pets.
Q: the one's from stores don't seem to work
Good home made fertilizers: Compost: made form leaves, twigs, grass clippings and garbage. Wood ashes from the fireplace and/or grill. Epsom salt (in small doses )can make nutrients more available to plants. If you decide to buy some fertilizer use a balanced organic fertilizer Gypsum is a good additive for most vegetables.
Q: If you were a family looking for a ranch home, and there were about 2500 sq feet up and another 2500 sq feet of renovated heated space below in the basement, and there was a full kitchen above and below, with a big garden in the front of house and back, would you feel it would be too much area to clean and maintain, taking into consideration that the basement would not be suitable for renting out, as the door leading out of the basement does not have a driveway, since one has to walk over the garden to reach the garage on the main level. The main level is additionally, connected to the basement by means of steps going down within the house into the basement. I feel one would out of necessity need to built a driveway to the basement door in order to be able to sell it with rental potential, as otherwise the area might be too big, in addition to two kitchens being too much to maintain for one family......Any suggestions or tips or ideas?
I bet you could sell it to an older couple who had a son or daughter who really needed a break like having a basement to move into so he or she could go to school or because his or her job doesn't allow living independently, especially if there were grandchildren. I don't think those people would mind having their kids enter and exit through the house, and they would keep the basement clean.
