Q: How do I remove pen ink from a leather sofa?
mr clean magic eraser should do the trick.
Q: i ordered alot of sofas but none of them will fit thru my back or front door. i wasted 10000 dollars and they wont refund it no matter what. i put a lawsuit against them already. how can i modify a sofa and get it up into my house? im on the third floor of an apartment.
yeah i think thats ok best to get the things you really need first then just get the rest as you can afford too. ikea is quite reasonable for furnishings. i got some stuff from argos n maybe ive just been unlucky but the set of drawers i got are falling to bits already n ive only had them a year! your local paper will have folk selling furniture for cheap but it depends on how you feel about havin it second hand
Q: He is 3 years old and fixed. He pees on the couch all the time. He does this right after going out to do his stuff!! He is a good dog, very obedient and quiet. The couch smells bad and no one can sit there now. If I put a cover over the couch, he'll pee the cover too. What do I do? I am getting MAD! Also, is there a way to take the smell out of the couch? I actually feel like throwing it out.
Use white vinegar to get the smell out, and after wards use fabric softener or something to make it smell nice. If your dog does it again, tell him off, then take him outside where he should be having a pee. This may take a few times to get him used to knowing not to pee on the sofa. Also, when my dog tried to jump on the sofa when i don't want her too, i use nail varnish remover to get her of if she carries on jumping on the sofa because she doesn't like the smell; it's too strong. Try that to stop him peeing on it, it's a bit of a long shot but it's worth a try. If all else fails, get a new sofa, but hopefully it won't come to that. Good luck!
Q: I got a free sofa from a local fish and poultry shop the sofa smells just like the mom-and-pop shop I got it from. which is great but I don't sell chicken or fish. How can I get it out? I really like the sofa
quickest n easiest would be using febreeze. u may have to let the cushions air out in the sunshine that will help. sprinkle some baking soda on it, let it sit, then vacumn it up if these don't work u may want to rent an uphoulstery shampooer. good luck
Q: I live in a basement apartment with only a 29 doorway opening, and normal furniture will not fit through my door. I'm considering getting a ready-to-assemble sofa/loveseat and chair but I'm wary of spending over $1000 on furniture I have not seen in person.
I have had my Simplicity Sofas sofa and chair for about a year now and I still love them. They look beautiful and feel comfortable. Nobody who looks at them knows they had to be assembled. Assembling only took me about 1/2 hour for both pieces (not counting the 1/2 hour it took to unwrap the pieces and take them out of the boxes.) Actually, the only thing better than the furniture was the customer service I received. It really was unbelievable. I have never dealt with a company so responsive and eager to please. I had a minor problem with the UPS delivery service and Simplicity Sofas sent me a check for my trouble (without being asked.) They have two people working in their customer service, Jeff and Ann. Both of them are outstanding. I believe Jeff is the President of the company. I just know that whenever I had a question, one of them would get right back to me and always gave a clear answer. This is a company you can't go wrong with.
Q: I am thinking about getting one of those surefit slipcovers for my couch. But I am wondering if it will fit, my couch has huge pillows for the back and sides. Will it stretch enough to go over the pillows or should I try to cover the couch without the pillows and try to find pillows to go over the cover? If anyone has ever used one I would love their opinion.
I have an attached, overstuffed pillowback sofa and I used a Surefit cover. It was fine. The only problem I had was the space between the pillowback and the sofa back. It seemed like too big a hollow for me, so I bought some batting and filled it out. But the slipcover is great...highly recommend it.
Q: On TV they always fill a room with sectionals. How do you decide what is too big? I have a decent sized family room (14x14) and I'm considering a sectional in the middle of the room instead of against walls (which is more traditional). They do it on the design shows all the time but I'm curious if there are particular guidelines or rules...
Dude it depends on where your ganna and how big the room is.
Q: I am looking for a new couch and loveseat. When I look at furniture websites they offer sofas and sleepers. I am somewhat confused on the differences since the both have identical measures and they don't have foldout beds in them.
A sleeper sofa has a folded mattress under the cushions that unfolds to make a bed. A futon just drops the back down to make a bed.
Q: I am looking for a living room set that includes a sofa bed instead of just the regular kind of sofa. I dont need end tables or lamps or anything else. Just a sofa, chair, and ottoman. I can spend between $1000-2000 on the three items. I live in Kansas City and can't seem to find anything like this at the three places I have been to so far (Nebraska Furniture Mart, Home Rooms Furniture, and Rent-A-Center). I do not need financing.
Do I know you??
Q: I was thinking a couch cover but they are around a hundred dollars . Is there anything else I could use? I was thinking a good quality sheet but I dont know how I would fix it to the couch, or even buying fabric but how would I sew it? Any answers would be great, thanks
Buy enough fabric plus a a bit more to completely cover the sofa, sew a hem all the way around the fabric after cutting off enough to sew a long strip that is going around the bottom of the sofa. This strip has to be wide enough to put elastic in so it depends on the size of elastic, I used the round elastic. Place fabric properly on sofa tucking in at cushions etc then put the strip with elastic half way down the bottom of the sofa all the way around. This will hold it all in place and look more like it has been recovered.
