- when answering these questions it's important to remember this relationship: E = h X nu, where nu is the frequency of the light since the speed of light is c (a constant) we can relate the wavelength of light to the frequency through the speed of light lambda (wavelength) = c / nu also, let's think about the EM spectrum, it goes from highest to lowest energy: gamma, x-ray, UV, Vis, IR, micro, radio that means that blue light is the highest energy visible light, and red light is the lowest energy visible light. So, since the rainbow goes from purple to blue, green, yellow, orange, finally to red, then green light is of higher energy - and from the equation above we know that the frequency of the light is directly related to energy - so the higher the energy of that light, the higher the frequency. That means green has a higher frequency than yellow. X-rays have much higher frequencies that microwaves. And all light travels at the same speed - c :)

- Q: I'm looking for a motorcycle tail light for a motorized bike I'm trying to make street legal. Does anyone know where I can find a good LED 12 volt tail light/brake light that is DOT approved and not to expencive?I'm planing on fitting it to a bracket on my rear rack that is originally for a bicycle reflector so I want a flat square shaped tail light that's 3 to 4 inches wide. I can work with bigger if I have to but 5 inches is as big as I'd be willing to go so it's not blocking the turn signals. Online it seems almost impossible to tell if a tail light is DOT approved or not unless they say which usualy they don't.

- Lighting is a key area in order to highlight your arowana in its full glory. Good lighting accentuates the colors of your arowana. Red or pinkish lighting is normally preferred as it brings out the redness of the arowana better. Try to avoid too strong lighting for an arowana setup as it would encourage algae growth. A simple fluorescent light would suffice for most arowana tank setups. Artificial light in aquariums is usually for us to view the fish, if they receive a natural light source (not direct sunlight) then they know that its day or night. If you have artificial light because of plants then it is necessary to try reproducing the plants natural light spectrum to stimulate growth. Fish are aware of movement outside of the tank, if you can, position the tank in an area of the house where there is the least amount of people traffic. Having the light on directly above the tank also reduces the amount of visibility the fish have through the glass, this would depend on the amount of light that is available in the room the aquarium is in.
