- it is the uv (ultraviolet) rays that make you tan.. a normal house light work work like that.. you have to use the sun or a tanning booth but uv rays can be dangerious so be careful

- That's a very good question. If our present laws of physics are correct, then light speed is the cosmic speed limit. Ergo, if a star or galaxy is one million light years distant, it follows that the universe must be older than one million years. You are correct. The light from that object would take one million years to reach Earth. Confusion is an atrocity. Alas, I think it's part of the human condition. - the little bugger is dangerous, it will ignite big time if you over fill. Go with butane, it is easy to fill neater, and not as dangerous. - I can't think of any exceptions but with most strobe lights the modeling light is integrated into the strobe head itself. This allows you to get an idea of where your strobes are focused on the subject. Furthermore the modeling light is usually a tungsten balanced light which emits a yellow light compared to the strobes which emit a bluish daylight colored light which is why you need to use daylight balanced film with your camera. Perhaps the modeling light you are refering to is a hot-light such as a smith victor? Furthermore just to let you know it isnt a good idea to hand hold any strobe light. If there is an exposed wire, or the bulb explodes you will be seriously injured. The capacitors in strobes build up extreme amounts of electricity. Furthermore if you have a strobe kit with a seppate powerpack, always use the on off switch and never just pull the plug...in addition, click the test button to discharge any remaining voltage from the pack...sometimes if you unplug a pack before turning off the pack it can explode, norman strobe packs are prone to this, and when it goes off, it can be like dynamite going off, and send pieces of shrapnel flying all over the place, no joke.

- The amount of light will not double, since mirrors only reflect about 80% of light that hits them (absorbing 20%). It would be brighter in the room, though. However, if you had a room full of mirrors on all surfaces, the room would be much brigher than a room full of black surfaces, since the light rays will be reflected rather than being absorbed by the dark color.

- Yes it will. But if you overdue it your period will stop compleatly and thats really unhealthy.

- Coherent light = laser......this is a focused beam of light energy. Lasers use a laser diode and a special crystal to achieve this.... incoherent light is scattered such as a light globe since there is no physical medium to concentrate the light...
