- Q: What lights should be used when on an airplane? NAV Lights, Strobe Lights, Rotating Beacon, ect.
- Our nav lights go on when we start the apu. The rotating beacon comes on when we start engines. The strobes, landing lights and taxilights go on for every takeoff prior to entering the active runway. The taxilights go off when the gear comes up. The landing lights come off at ten thousand feet. The whole process is reversed on arrival. Day or night.

- A yellow light is a transition light. It tells you that the light is going to turn red anywhere from 2-7 seconds from now. Treat it like this. - Thats is a marketing ploy. That way they can get the reefers and planted tank money. Ian is right... 6,500 - 6,700 is best. 10,000 is the highest you can go, 5,000k is the lowest. You can mix and match bulbs to whatever colour light pleases you. Other than that I would like to add that petsmart has a T5NO fixture under aqueon. Not HO.. but still better than T12's and T8's.
