- Light does not stain a fabric. But, light can cause a chemical reaction causing bleaching of the fabric. Although a particular color light reflecting off a colored fabric does not change the color of the fabric, it can cause you to see a different color. Green light on white fabric looks green Red light on white fabric looks red. white light on red fabric looks red. Green light on white fabric looks green red light on green fabric looks black green light on red fabric looks black

- Light takes time to travel. It travels at 3 x 10^8 meters per second. When you turn a light on in your house, it takes time for the light to go from the light bulb to your eyes. If the bulb is 3 meters away, it takes 10 nanoseconds. That's a very small period of time, so you think it's instantaneous but it's not. Light from the moon takes a little over a second to reach us. Light from the sun takes about 500 seconds to reach us. Light from stars takes years to reach us.
