Q: Can we amplify light from various sources say light from a bulb?
Yes, this a laser.
Q: what does light years mean?
Distance(miles) light travels [in a vacuum]... per second:186,000 per minute: 11,160,000 per hour: 669,600,000 per day: 16,070,400,000 per year: 5,865,696,000,000or 5Trillion, 865Billion,696Million miles Now why you want to know that distance is beyond me since very very very few people can truly grasp the sheer immensity of those numbers and distances. I can talk about and throw around those numbers all day, but I can't truly put them into perspective. They're just too huge. I mean, what's the longest trip you've ever made...a thousand miles or maybe two thousand even? that is nothing compared to cosmic distances. Anyway, it takes time for light to travel anywhere, just like anything else. So, depending upon how far away a star is, it took that long for the light hitting your eyeballs to get here from the star. Alpha Proxima is 4.5 light years away. When you look at it, the photons hitting your eye left that star 4.5 years ago. Something to think about: You're not even seeing the star where it is. In those intervening 4.5 years, it moved and so has the earth. So, what you are REALLY seeing is a photon that was sent from its THEN position in a direction that ended up intersecting with the earth's NOW position. But, it's all perfectly okay in a relative way.
Q: How do the light sensors in a night light work that allow it to turn on in the absence of direct light?
This Site Might Help You. RE: How does a light sensor work? How do the light sensors in a night light work that allow it to turn on in the absence of direct light?
Q: Is fluorescent lighting true lighting? I was told that it is false lighting and that it distorts color and image but then I was also told that It's true lighting and thats how objects really look to others. I have florescent lighting in my room but it looks a lot different to how I look in a mirror at school with fluorescent lighting. How can I tell what I really look like?Is how I look under fluorescent lighting how I look to other people? I look really funny under it..I also feel like its mostly just when I'm in a white room with fluorescent lighting that I look my worst.
Kayla, this is a good question. The answer actually is it depends. There are different kinds of fluorescent lights, and depending on the color temperature (yes, that's a real term) of the bulb, it changes the way objects look as seen under that light. Cool light has a bluish hue and is typically in the range of 5000k. Warm light has a yellowish hue and typically falls in the range of 2500 to 3500k, by comparison. The typical soft white household bulb tends to be in the 3000k range. The standard long fluorescent tube tends to be on the cold side, which commonly is perceived as being harsh and distorting. The lighting section at Home Depot by us has a display that shows the same. picture under different lights. By looking at this, you can get a good understanding of how the color temperature of a particular bulb affects the way things look. Although actual daylight is on the order of 6500k, that winds up looking very harsh in the context of a home. Cooler lights are brighter, so they are often used in institutional settings, but they are not the kind of warm friendly lights most people want in their homes. This accounts for your feeling that you look your worst under fluorescent lights in a white room - it gives an almost bluish cast to your skin; very harsh! Everybody looks awful under cold fluorescent lights, though some people probably look even worse depending on their natural skin color and clothing....but depending on the specific bulb that's in place, it'll change how everything looks.
Q: I am adding four lights to my laundry room. I have one light already, which is at the far end of the room. I would like to put the switch at the entrance to the room and add four more lights to the existing light. But the power is at the END of the room, coming through the existing light, which means it would run from that light, through the four added lights and finally to the switch. How do I make the switch control the power? Thanks.
===== use the as an social gathering, evaluate a extremely ordinary circuit including 4 gentle bulbs and one 6 V battery. If a cord joins the battery to at least one bulb, to the subsequent bulb, to the subsequent bulb, to the subsequent bulb, then decrea
Q: so i want to have a little black light party in my basement and i got black light bulbs, but they didnt light it up or make it look glowy, does anyone know of a black light that can light up a whole room?
My black light experience is with the tube type light in a florescent light fixture. I used it to capture the the way cotton fibers respond in paper which I had done art work on. My lab in a textile company had larger tube type lights to check chemical additives in fabric. So, try the tube lights which you may be able to find in a Spencer Gifts store.
Q: I just bought a lighting system for my 75gallon aquarium. It came with two different lighting systems. A white light, ad a true actnic blue light. How much time should i leave the white light on for? and also the blue light?
The white light is probably a 10K. Both the white and blue lights help to grow plants in freshwater tanks and corals in saltwater tanks. Because they help plants grow, they will also help algae grow, so don't leave them on for too long during the day, maybe no more than 8 hours a day. If you just have regular tropical fish, they certainly don't need light all day long and if you leave the blue light on 24/7 it may disrupt their sleep patterns and will probably give you more algae than you want. On my fish-only tropical tanks, I usually just run the lights if I'm home to watch them, it also saves energy. Good luck, have fun!
Q: what is sustainable lighting in architecture?
Sustainable lighting in architecture takes into consideration the best use and optimization of light from natural sources - (ie solar, daytime) and applies this in terms of cost and efficiency, effectiveness and environmental concerns when building. That's my understanding of it. Hope this helps.
Q: how much weight is considered lifting light
It depends on what muscle group for legs light would be 30 kg for arms 7.5 kg would be light and for chest 15 kg would be light. There is no overall average weight for all muscle groups together.
Q: The one they use to find dirt and stuff left behind like that blue light.
blacklight? UV light / ultraviolet?
