- I okorder and asked if there were ever discounts on these machines. It's not that I didn't want the machine or didn't understand the price I just like feeling like I got a good deal. They told me that they could offer me the Miele Uniq for $1299 and there was free shipping and because I am out of state I was able to pay no tax too. So $200 off made me feel like I was saving some money so I went ahead and bought it. Went flawless. I am not sure what model you are looking at but sounds like they give discounts on all machines. - Q: Do I need to Vacuum up pet hair, etc before I use one of these Bissell Upright Steam Cleaners. I was going to purchase a new Bagless Bissell Pet Hair removal vacuum and the aile over I saw the Bissell Pro Heat cleaners for like 100 bucks more. Can I just get rid of my vacuum and use this steam cleaner instead or do you still need to vacuum before you clean. Or can I use steam cleaners without the water now and then just like a vacuum?
- You have to have both. Steam cleaners aren't designed to be vacuum cleaners. (I haven't heard of a dual purpose one yet.) You need a vacuum cleaner for weekly general cleaning in between steaming and you use the steam cleaner for cleaning every couple months or if have a particularly tough stain in carpet or a large house party to clean up after. Or just buy the vacuum cleaner and rent a steamer when you need it. Or hire Stanley Steamer to steam clean for you. The only people who really need to own a steamer and use it frequently are those with white/light carpets and lots of foot traffic and pets.
- Q: I have a Hoover Elite Rewind U5507-900 vacuum that needs a new belt. I mean the belt snapped off, so I know that's the problem but I cannot find what belt size I need! This is a vacuum that was handed down to me, so I never had the owners manual and when I did find one online, it doesn't tell you the belt size you need;
- Glad to help Daisy. If you look on the back of the vacuum there should be a sticker with the Model, Serial, and _replacement Belt numbers. If not, when you go to the Grocery Store or most any Department Store that sells Vacuum Cleaners will sell Belts too! The package should say: fits Hoover Elite and several other Models, If you have the old belt you can compare them. Also Daisy when you replace the Belt, check to see if anything caused the Belt to break other than just wear. Most often something gets wrapped around the Beater Bar, (Carpet Fiber/String/Thread/Etc.)something that stops the Bar, causing it to burn up the Belt! Good Luck!

- Well, amongst folks with animals, the Dyson is the favorite. We had the supposedly top-rated (by Consumer Reports) Hoover Windtunnel upright prior to our Dyson (which Consumer Reports has no use for). There is no comparison. I have to empty the Dyson at least three times every time we vacuum our 1400 sf house. I could go a month without replacing the bag on the Hoover. Plus, Dysons don't catch fire. I've seen ads for other makes showing their models picking up ball bearings and all kinds of stuff. Next time I need to pick up hundreds of marble-sized steel ball bearings, I'll buy it.
