- Q:does anyone have a wiring diagram for a rccb or can you explain how to wire one up . as an rcd has a wiring for connecting to earth but an rccb does not have that.
- Assuming the lights are wire in a loop system, and not from a junction box. You'll need a three core and earth cable from the lamp or first lamp to the bathroom fan, or two twin and earth cable will do. Because you need a live feed and a switched wire, as well as the neutral to the fan. If it's wired from a junction box just take the three core and earth from the J' box to the fan. I trust the spot lights are specifically designed for bathroom use. Can't actually draw a diagram on here but hope this helps.

- you are in a older home where there was no black wire. you that your tester ,and put one end to the gound then that the other end to the other wire one at a time to see if is hot . one will and the ohrer not. if you have a switch then trun it . and off to make sure it work those wire . some old light had pall chains to trun the light on.

- What gauge is the wire? Is it stranded or solid? Each type of wire has its own method. You can't really twist solid wires because as you have seen, they stress and break. If you do get them to connect they can loosen up create a bad connection. Electronic places have special connectors for these. Stranded wires are not usually a problems with twisting.
- Q:I was re-wiring a light switch and a fan control knob and I accidentally cut a wire too short. This wire comes out the front of the fan dial and goes around to the back, connecting to another wire, thus placing a wire nut impossible. - Most fans have a wiring schematic and this will tell you how to wire it. Normally black is the power, green is a ground, which you don't have, and as for the red wires I'm not sure. Is this a new fan or one that has been used before. In the USA we have a white wire which is a neutral. I'm puzzled about the two red wires, these may have been added at a later date. If your in a country that has 240 volts then this may be an explanation. Regards, Dale
