Q:pave a carpet under the tea table in the living room or not?
All right! , there is a special tea table carpet
Q:After stepping on strong sticky rat board, get on the carpet is how to remove the shoe, viscose carpet without damage to the carpet?
All the glue on the rat board is strong glue. If you have strong glue, you can consider using some alcohol or gasoline for cleaning. First, try wiping the gasoline with a rag, then try it. Take care not to smoke during the process. Do not use fire. Gasoline is dangerous. After cleaning, rinse off with water, and the smell of petrol will be fine. Try with other organic solvents, too.
Q:This might be a stupid question. But I'm about to buy carpet and I need to know how many sq. feet I need. thanks
What is your room shaped like? If it's a perfect square, then it should be obvious, but if it's L shaped or some other shape you'll have to work a little harder. If you've ever taken geometry, then you should have no problem. If your room is L shaped, break up the space into two rectangles. One for the vertical part of the L and another for the horizontal part of the L. Then measure each rectangle separately and add the two amounts together. The other thing you have to remember about carpet is that it's going to have a seam. Obviously there aren't 20 foot wide rolls of carpet out there, so installers will sew the pieces together to create a seamless look. That is something else you have to determine. You'll have to find the carpet you want and figure out how wide it comes. THEN you'll have to figure out where to put the seam in your floor in order to have it as out-of-the-way-of-foot-traffic as possible so it doesn't come apart after a few years. In all honesty, carpet is a lot more confusing and difficult than most people think, which is why there are professionals you can call for help with this. I suggest you call a local carpet dealer and ask them what they recommend. After all, they're not going to charge you to call and ask. Good luck!
Q:I live in the UK where the weather totally changes from one day to the next. One day it's freezing, the next it's hot. So I never know which rug to put on my horse. If I put a lightweight on and the weather turns cold he'll be cold. But if I put his mediumweight on and the sun comes out he'll be hot. Which is better?
I know the feeling - we are swapping and changing at the moment same as you! Personally I'd rather the horse was a bit on the warm side, at least it will help with getting the winter coat out! At the moment we are mostly going with a medium weight stable rug over night, and a no-fill outdoor one for daytime outside, on our fairly robust but elderly warmblood.
Q:It's a really nice 5'x9' woven American Indian area rug, but the people that owed it never took care of it. It cost over $100. to take it to a professional. Does any one have any idea's how I can clean it myself? In the olden days there had to been away!
You can buy a can of carpet cleaner. The kind that is foamy would be good. The instructions will tell you to use a sponge mop to work the foam into the carpet, then after a certain time...it can be vacuumed off. I guess they still make it like that, haven't used in a while..LOL OR, you can get Auto carpet and upholstery cleaner, which is foamy.
Q:I keep a super clean litter box, sometimes she goes in it sometimes she doesn't. The bath rug is literally a foot away from her litter box. She's 1yrs old, fixed and is good behaved except for that. Ive washed the rugs, got new ones, tried different material rugs, everything... the rugs have all had rubber backing. I remember I had a rug w/ out the rubber backing I don't think she pee'd on that 1. Could it be the rubber or something? We moved a few months back could that be a reason?
well isnt it obvious?? the rug has sand on it! i mean unless your cat is a gimp and likes playing sick games with your beloved rug then put the god damn cat to sleep. perminantly. one more easy way to solve the problem. take away the rug. also very obvious and a bit of a shite question. ask your vet or local sex group. sank you and goodbye you daft daft man
Q:Can carpet be laid on the floor heating?
Try not to lay carpet in the room with floor heating, or it will affect the heat transfer. If it is just a small part, then the impact is not obvious. In addition, it would be better for heat transfer to buy furniture with legs for the room installed with floor heating.
Q:Candle wax has dripped onto our carpet and we need a way of removing it without destroying the carpet.
Wax Removal from Carpet The last thing any of us need is wax dripped on the carpet. Once it hardens, it seems impossible to remove. All is not lost though. For cleaning carpet stains made by wax, first chip off as much of the surface wax as possible, using a dull knife or paint scraper. Once that is done, place a cloth or several layers of paper towels over the wax and apply a warm iron. Iron the towel for a few minutes and then lift. The wax should now be on the cloth instead of the carpet. Remove carpet stains left behind by blotting with a vinegar, or if it doesn't come up easily, nail polish remover. Good Luck!!.....:)
Q:WHAT GETS MOLD OUT OF CARPETS AND WALLS??CAN YOU GET THE CARPETS CLEANED AND PROFESSIONALS AND ITLL BE GONE?AND CAN YOU JUST SCRUB THE WALLS WITH BLEACH? WOULD THAT WORK??AND WHATS THE BETTER KIND OF CARPET CLEANING? STEAM CLEAN OR quot;CHEMDRYquot;
I really hope this helps!
Q:Refreshing my memory been a while so wondering how to lay carpet with a seam. Don't have enough carpet so have some extra carpet that looks the same that I need to use so wanting to lay the carpet with a seam so all the carpet will look as one.
Practice - practice - practice First, the carpet pieces all need the fibers going in the same direction....if you can't do that, it won't matter how skilled you are at seaming a carpet, the piles running different dirctions will stand out. Clean cuts - you need a clean cut along the seam, on BOTH pieces to get them to look good when they are joined. Two kinds of tape - adhesive, and 'carpet' tape (which needs a seaming iron). BEFORE the carpet is stretched for the room, the adjacent pieces of carpet need to be joined. This involves making a straight, clean cut on both edges - this cut should match identically. I achieve this by overlapping the two pieces, and using a straight edge, cut through both layers at once. (You need a VERY sharp blade). Next, apply the seaming tape to the underside of the carpet. I prefer to use the professional grade carpet tape, and I own all the necessary carpet tools to do this. If you do not own them, they can be rented from a local business that rents tools and equipment. I wouldnt make the investment in tools for one room of carpet. If you are using carpet tape, cut it to fit the length of the seam (actually allow it to extend beyond the ends of the seam, for a couple of inches) Plug in the seaming iron, allow it to heat up, and then place it UNDER the carpet, but ON the tape. As the seaming iron heats up the tape, slide it along the length of the seam, pulling the carpet edges together behind it, and press them firmly into the tape. (A roller is handy for this) Do NOT overlap the edges, do NOT allow them to pucker...this is why a good clean cut is so important. Allow the tape to cool, and then you can stretch the carpet and trim it out. Have Fun
