- Q:A crane lifts a 425 kg steel beam vertically a distance of 117m. How much work does the crane do on the beam if the beam accelerates upward at 1.8 m/s^2? Neglect frictional forces.a.) 3.4 x 10^5 Jb.) 4.0 x 10^5 Jc.) 5.8 x 10^5 Jd.) 4.9 x 10^5 JSolved as W= mgh but obviously that is wrong. Where do I go wrong?
- Force=mass x (acceleration) -Gravity must be taken into account F=425 x (1.8 -(-9.8)) F=4930 w= F x deltay w= 4930 x 117 w=576810J
- Q:Who invented the tower crane, please?
- In 1923, a prototype of modern tower crane was built. The first relatively complete modern tower crane appeared in the same year. Our tower crane started from Shanghai in 1950.
- Q:im 35 and in august i get my license back and i am going after my childhood dream of being a crane operator and was wondering how i need to go about achieving this?
- I am sorry I do not know where are you from as different country might have different requirement on getting a Crane Operator licence. Anyway, I believe the basic is the same: You need to attend a theory class on crane operations which usually include topics like design theory of cranes, slinging and lifting, signalling. After this, there will be a practical session to test your understanding and practical operations on an actual crane in the training center's facility. Good Luck and May You Attain You Dream :)
- Q:We see lots of cranes doing some heavy lifting during construction. But how do they get so high up these buildings? And when construction is nearly done, how do they go back down?
- Depends on the building of course. Either a taller crane is brought in to lift them, or they're lifted by helicopter. And sometimes a building effectively builds itself, and the crane moves up with the construction platform after being constructed at ground level. Will still need a helicopter to remove it of course.
- Q:What is an attached tower crane?
- Its weight is 5 ~ 100kN, lifting radius of 3 ~ 35m (trolley), the lifting height is 160m, the maximum lifting torque of 1600kN - m, each with high 2.5m, the QT4 - 10 type crane lifting system comprises a lifting sleeve frame, long stroke hydraulic jack, bearing seat, lifting beam and a positioning pin. The cylinder block of the hydraulic jack is installed on the support seat at the bottom of the tower, and the lifting process can be divided into five steps.
- Q:ok. soooo.i've got this essay.and i'm stuck.all because i can't figure out the poetic form of War is Kind.help??its only the first five stanzas.Do not weep, maiden, for war is kind. Because your lover threw wild hands toward the sky And the affrighted steed ran on alone, Do not weep. War is kind. Hoarse, booming drums of the regiment, Little souls who thirst for fight, These men were born to drill and die. The unexplained glory flies above them, Great is the battle-god, great, and his kingdom -- A field where a thousand corpses lie. Do not weep, babe, for war is kind. Because your father tumbled in the yellow trenches, Raged at his breast, gulped and died, Do not weep. War is kind. Swift blazing flag of the regiment, Eagle with crest of red and gold, These men were born to drill and die. Point for them the virtue of slaughter, Make plain to them the excellence of killing And a field where a thousand corpses lie.???
- War Is Kind Stephen Crane (1899) Do not weep, maiden, for war is kind, Because your lover threw wild hands toward the sky And the affrighted steed ran on alone, Do not weep. War is kind. Hoarse, booming drums of the regiment, Little souls who thirst for fight, These men were born to drill and die. The unexplained glory flies above them. Great is the battle-god, great, and his kingdom-- A field where a thousand corpses lie. Do not weep, babe, for war is kind. Because your father tumbles in the yellow trenches, Raged at his breast, gulped and died, Do not weep. War is kind. Swift blazing flag of the regiment, Eagle with crest of red and gold, These men were born to drill and die. Point for them the virtue of slaughter, Make plain to them the excellence of killing And a field where a thousand corpses lie. Mother whose heart hung humble as a button On the bright splendid shroud of your son, Do not weep. War is kind!
- Q:I need to know exactly how much weight they can lift also how much do they weight?how long is thier life-time?in what temprature they can work?does mosture do any harm to them?for installation , do they need foundation?the exact height and width?
- You need to be more specific. The lifting capacities for container cranes varies significantly, as does any other crane. Some of the variation is based purely on load (horsepower) availability; some is based on speed (rpm) for lift/drop portions of the cycle. Cranes like these operate year-round, at ports all over the world. Some ports have average ambient temperatures in the range of 45 C, with highs up to 60 C. Others can be as low an average as 10 C, with a low peak as much as -50 C. Moisture will, over the long haul, harm them - they're metal constructs, and thus are prone to oxidation. Using corrosion-resistant materials and/or coatings will certainly prolong their usable lifespan. The crane drives (electric motors and power electronics) are also susceptible to moisture and other contaminants. All true dockside cranes require some sort of permanent foundation; it's usually part of the pier construction itself. However, there are portable cranes that operate without one. There is also more than one crane manufacturer out there - all will have their trade secrets that will make each look a little different than the rest. It will generally also reflect in their operation parameters, and in their expected life cycle.
- Q:Hi I was with a friend and her family and they kept referring to some birds at a lake as cranes. I know for sure that some birds there were Great Blue Herons. When I here crane I think of a bird from Asia or something. Anyway these birds were white and I thought maybe they were egrets or something, and this is in Ohio. I'm not looking to prove anyone wrong, I'd just like to find out about cranes- are there cranes in America and if so could these birds be cranes? Thanks!
- Some geese, if they know they can get plenty of food, don't fly south in the winter. Also, some geese go much further north in the summer, so flying to Indiana is flying south for the winter.
- Q:Notice of tower crane
- Please refer to the technical regulations for the safety of installation, disassembly and use of tower cranes in construction; The following is copy:3 installation of tower cranes3.1 conditions for installation of tower cranes3.1.1 tower crane installation unit must have the construction administrative departments issued the contracted professional qualification and heavy equipment installation engineering construction enterprises safety production license. Tower crane installation units must be engaged in the installation of tower cranes within the scope of qualification permit. In addition to the professional and technical personnel who have the qualification standard, the installation units of 3.1.2 tower cranes shall also have professional personnel who are in line with the project. The person in charge of the project, the project manager and the full-time safety management personnel shall have the certificate of safety production inspection. Tower cranes, installers, electricians, drivers, signal engineers, cable operators should have special construction operation qualification certificates.3.1.3 construction units shall sign professional contract for installation engineering with the installation units, and make clear the responsibility of both sides for safety in production. In case of general contracting of construction, it shall be signed by the general contractor and the installation unit.
- Q:What are the lifting moment requirements for tower cranes?
- 1. Tower crane consists of three parts: metal structure, working mechanism and electrical system. The three main technical parameters are lifting moment, lifting weight and working speed. Lifting moment refers to the boom as the basic arm length maximum amplitude corresponding to the rated lifting weight of product, product or maximum weight with the corresponding inflection point.
