Q: I know this is a longshot someone will know what I'm talking about... but I just got a flash memory of a poem where a bird with long legs (I believe cranes, but it could have been flamingos or some other bird) and kids threw stones at them and their legs just snapped.... that's all I can remember, but I remember whatever the line was describing the legs snapping really well because it was in such sharp contrast to the rest of the poem.... anyone have any clue what poem this is?
The Crane and The Crow'-Aesop's fables The farmer threw the stone at the crane and broke both his legs. The injured crane said to the crow, What has become of your God-given prophecies? Why didn't you warn me that his was going to happen?
Q: Please help. I need real answers.
About Ichabod Crane, the school master, Washington Irving writes in A Legend of Sleepy Hollow: He was, in fact an odd mixture of small shrewdness and simple credultiy. His appetite for the marvellous, and his powers of digesting it, were equally extraordinary; and both had been increased by his residence in this spellbound region. Ichabod Crane digests Cotton Mather's (a Puritan preacher) History of New England Witchcraft, a book in which he firmly and most potently believes. He spends many hours reading Mather's work, and fluttered by his excited imagination he believes that he is struck with a witch's token at times. To drive away the evil spirits, he sings psalm tunes. Nevertheless, Crane still delights in the supernatural, so he spends winter evening with the old Dutch wives who exchange tales of ghosts and goblins around the fire. In turn, Ichabod entertains them with Mathers's reports on witchcraft, as well as predicting what the sounds in the winter air portend.
Q: Romney woulda had that thing fixed by now.
Obama hates cranes!
Q: I read on wikipedia that in recent years, it has become less popular, but they do not mention why. I understand the philosophy of the art and it seems like Machida and Anderson Silva use similar styles. These are 2 of the best fighters in MMA. Can anyone shed some light on this?
I can't comment on the people you mentioned. What I can say is that White Crane is a good style. BUT, it was never as popular as arts like Goju-ryu, Shotokan, Shito-ryu, and many others. It is curious that Wikipedia would say something like the style is less popular. But then I have always taken what I see on the internet with a grain of salt. Anyone can post any thing they want on the net. That does not make it true.
Q: why was the japanese crane hunted for its plumage in the 20th century?

Q: A heavy concrete panel is being lifted into position in a building by means of a crane (see figure below). The tension of 1.78 x 10^4 N in the supporting cable produces a torque with respect to point O. (Let L = 46.3 m.)
The crane contributes a torque of 495,979.8 Newton-meters. 1.78e+4 * 46.3 * cos(53.0) = 495,979.8 ...but this is not the total (net) torque. There is also a torque due to the weight of the concrete slab - torque we are ignoring since we do not know the weight of the slab.
Q: I have three of these little pests hovering around in my tiny bathroom (my flatmate left the window open). I don't like to get close to them, and when they flutter near me I panic. I need an effective method of getting rid of them, that doesn't require me to get close or touch them - I really need to shower, so any advice is welcomed! Thanks, Ashley.
a daddy long legs interior the united statesis a sort of spider with an extremely small around physique and intensely long 8 legs. interior the united kingdom, Australia, and Canada crane flies are noted as daddy long legs. So what you ought to have seen could have been a crane fly and it could have been a spider. The crane fly has an elongated physique, six legs, and wings. It sounds like a good sized mosquito.
Q: I've recently finished folding my 1000 paper cranes. I herd that there is a shrine in japan that takes them. Anybody know where that place is and the information I need to have to send them?
Yes, the Hiroshima Peace Park.
