Q: There are 4 adults and 1 dog in my home. One of the adults tends to quot;shedquite a lot and has ruined every cheap vacuum we have bought with her hair. I would like to get a nice vacuum anyway, and I've found a great deal on Dyson vacuums, so the one I get has to be a Dyson. However, regardless of the deal, I don't want to buy a nice vacuum if the human hair will ruin it. I've narrowed it down to the DC25 All Floor, or the DC25 Animal. Is there a difference between the two? And will human hair ruin either one? Or do you have a suggestion for a different Dyson (I'd like all floor capable and ball technology)? Thank you.
I have a Dyson and I love it! I have never had a problem with it. I have the DC14 and I've had it for about 10 years now.If it ever breaks down or gets worn out I'm gonna get another Dyson for sure. You can't go wrong with either one you choose but I'd ask a sales person what the difference between the two is.Have fun, nothing beats a Dyson.
Q: I have had Sears vacuum cleaners, with beater bar and brushes, for over 40 years, now all of a sudden the bars have only brushes, no beater (to vibrate dust out of the carpet.) So I am wondering if ANY other company has them???.
They are harder to find; if you go to Google's Product search page and search for vacuum AND beater bar you will find some models listed. You can access Google's Product Search by going to Google and then clicking on the Shopping link; insert the search terms recommended above after clicking on the shopping link.
Q: My mom is looking for a new vacuum cleaner and can't decide between an upright or canister. She has a lot of carpeted areas and bare floor as well. What would you recommend? Can you suggest good vacuum cleaners that aren't too expensive and especially, aren't too heavy or difficult to maneuver?
I agree with Scorpio, a canister is more convenient for multiple floor types as well as dusting walls, window sills, stair banisters, books, etc. Actually I have both, I like the upright for just carpets; easy to maneuver and store. But when it's time for serious cleaning, out comes the canister.
Q: I have noticed that some vacuum cleaners are rated in quot;Airwattsquot;. Now, if you multiply a volume flow rate by a pressure, you get units of kg.m2.s-3. Which are equivalent to Watts:Flow rate = m3.s-1Pressure = Pa = N/m2 = kg.m-1.s-2Product = kg.m2.s-3 = J.s-1 = W.So if you multiply the volume flow rate through a vacuum cleaner by the pressure change it creates, is that the rate at which work is being done to move air through the machine? Is this what quot;Airwattsmeans? And if you then divide this by the power being supplied to the motor, is this giving the efficiency of the machine?
I believe it is similar to mechanical horsepower, which takes into account both speed and torque. In the case of airwatts, it would be the available power to do work, taking into account both the pressure and volume of the airflow, outside of the vacuum motor's fan.
Q: How to repair the vibration lever of vacuum cleaner?
Remove the clamps at both ends, then remove the belt and bring the vibration lever out of the housing
Q: My bagless vacuum is about 1 year old. We change our HEPA filter and the round filter under the dirt trap, clean the washable sponge as instructed. Recently, all of a sudden the machine smells really bad like a dead body is inside the machine. Anyone with a solution?
I was going to say change the bag, but okay, that's not it. But a vacuum cleaner has other parts that can retain specks of stuff, and whatever is decaying can be there instead.
Q: Okay, I won't tell you who thinks what, but one of us think that you should dust your furniture, before you vacuum that way whatever dust gets on the floor its vacuumed up. The other thinks you vacuum before you dust...So which is it, do you dust before you vacuum or after? Please help this is so small but I would just like to do one of those kinda I told you so things.. Its a wife thing!
I've always vacuumed before dusting. I use a damp cloth for dusting so no dust is hitting the ground but the vacuum puts dust in the air. hope it helps one of you :)
Q: I want to return this new Foreskin Bedazzler, but I'm embarrassed to ask where they bought it
personally I think its clothing, its either the wrong size color or style no matter how much thought you put into it, but Summer Rain is right on the money about vacuum cleaners too, I do not understand why anyone would buy one of those for a gift for anything other than a bridal shower or a housewarming party I think I would return your gift too, first off because I have no foreskin and second because it sounds like it would be rather painful to use - regifting is always good, and it sounds like you have a taker :)
Q: is there a name for fear of vaccum cleaners? because I KNOW i have it! ever since i was an infant i would screem frickin bloody murder in my crib when my mom would run teh vacuum cleaner. when i was jsut a small child i would run from it, afraid it would suck up my toes. and now, today, at 14, i cannot STAND the loud noise they make and i do NOT put my toes in front of one. it takes me a few moments before i can even bring myself to turn it on. the bigger, louder they are, the worse my reactions. sometimes at work (i volunteer at a veterinary hospital) i have to ask one of my co-workers to do it because i will purposly busy myself just to get away from it.please, do not laugh at me. it's embarrassing enough and i just want to know the name of it.thankxx! :]
we had a dog that had this... she would always go and run and hide under the bed... but she was a BIG dog... I mean, the bed had 2 legs up in the air and was quivering with her breathing
Q: are canister vacuum cleaners good brands?so where are they for sale online
Hi, Many people like canister vacuums as they find them lighter and easier to push under furniture. I have a friend that has a Eureka and really likes it. Hope this helps.
