- Q:I have a sidekick and my USB data cable isnt working. I want to transfer files onto my computer. No window pops up. I've checked 'My Computer' for it, but nothing happens. How can I solve this problem?
- You'll probably have to download drivers so your computer can recognize the Sidekick. Check t-mobile's website and look for the latest drivers.
- Q:I want to put custom ringtones on my new Virgin Mobile phone, but their site doesnt have my favorites. So I want to make a custom cable. However, I think there are four wires in a USB cable and two in an AC adapter. The connection between the two sets of two will give me a USB charger, but how do I make it into a data chaarger???
- You cannot do this. Do Not try or you risk destroying the devices. I suggest that you get a software product called Data Pilot. This is a product created to interface various phone brands and PCs. It comes with the software tools and an assortment of Phone-to-USB connecting cables. It isn't free, but it's cheaper than screwing up your devices.
- Q:(I had to rephrase my earlier question)If the 1.1 cable doesn't catch on fire, etc: will all transferred data be intact (undamaged)?
- If you are concerned about the integrity of the data, then why not sha1sum or md5sum and check them? The cable for 1.1 and 2.0 as far as I know are wired precisely the same way, differences probably being shielding and guage of wire. Frankly, I do not believe there will be any issues with your data, given the general length of most USB cables.
- Q:i don't have a data cable, but i do have a memory card.
- You have to have a data cable. You can put themes on your memory card but for them to work you have to edit or put new files in your phone. That is where the data cable comes in. I tried but failed so went to OKorder and bought a cable for $4. It was easy after that.
- Q:I have am Energizer PSP charger with a USB cord. I needed to transfer some data from my Acer laptop to my PSP. Couldn't I just use the USB cord that came with the Energizer charger for that? I mean, It is a USB cable after all and its for the PSP.
- If it's just a normal USB cable where one end fits into a computer's USB port and the other end fits into the PSP's USB port(on the top of the PSP)then yes. Just hook it up and try. And if doesn't work nothing will happen. But it will work. I do it all the time. (don't forget that your PSP has to be charged and on. Also don't forget to select the optionUSB connection from the setting) Hope I helped

- This is a somewhat controversial topic. As you can see from the Wikipedia article I've sourced (and indeed the complaints you'll find via a regular search), the mini-USB port is for use by developers only, and not the general public.

- Should be able to. I had a Motorola Rizr with the Motorola Phone Tools software. When i hooked it up to my computer it would charge.

- Fiber Optic can easily hit 100 Gbps. 10 or 40 Gbps is typical Coaxial cable has a bandwidth of over 1 GHz. CATV typically uses frequencies up to 1 GHz This means it can carry about 166 channels, each 6 MHz wide (Standard analog TV channel). Each channel can transfer raw data at 42.88mbps so that would give a throughput of 7118 Mbps, or 7.118 Gbps
- Q:I have a very common LG CU400 cell and want to be able to pull some of the pictures that I have taken on the phone off into a printing kiosk, or onto a PC - I can't seem to find anything that fits this description. Does anybody out there know of such a cable? I have found LG Data USB Cables but am not sure if it will allow me to pull pictures onto my PC. Thanks!
