Q: I have a nyko charging station for my xbox 360 controllers but they wont hold a charge anymore. I put them on the dock station and it says they are charged after like 15 mins but then they dont last very long. Wasnt sure if it would be the battery packs or the dock station.
I would say it's the battery packs. They don't usually last much longer than a year or so.
Q: I just got this Volcano Ecig pack that charges batteries on the go. only problem is when you put them in the charging slot Nothing happens, theres no acknowledgment that it's charging or that its done charging. Any help?
Here you need some experience in charging. Measure the time it takes to fill the cigarette. Perhaps this period is mentioned also in the manual. If you can not check the load of the batteries (no light indicating the device is on what shines brighter if full?), then feel the device. Loading batteries are warmer and so is the charger. You can also evaporate/atomize and notice the difference with an empty or partly filled battery and see if you can see something glow. Better not have empty batteries, they do not last quite as long.
Q: What almost all of the remote control cars, are using the battery pack, can not use the No. 5 battery?

It depends on the required voltage and power needs. Different batteries have different voltages (difference of potential between the + and - terminals) and Amp-hour (total potential hours of operation at one Amp of current) ratings. If you need a power source that isn't currently available for sale, try stringing together many of the same type of battery (same voltage and Amp-hour rating), connected in series. If this is a store-bought robot, I have to assume it came with a battery pack, probably a series of rechargeable AAs in a heat-shrunk package. If you made the robot yourself, you need to know the required voltages for each of its subcomponents and may have to have multiple power supplies. Or just find the nearest Radio Shack.
Q: I decided to replace an ailing NiMh battery pack (3.6 V) with 3 AA alkalines in series (4.5 V) to a small DC motor (hair clippers). Soldered the batteries in proper polarity series and ran the motor for a few minutes. The batteries became so hot they nearly exploded. Any ideas why this might have happened?
It is possible that the battery pack had cells in series to obtain the correct (added) voltage and also series cells in parallel so that all the current did not have to travel through each cell. Sharing the load (parallel cells) would reduce current and heat. Also the three AA alkaline cells in series produced a higher voltage than the battery pack resulting in greater current and the load (hair clippers) may have had too little resistance appearing similar to a short circuit. The current in the load also passes through all of the cells which have internal resistance and can heat as a result of current (I square R losses).
Q: I was looking to getting a Nikon, but it says that the Nikon D3100 and D5000 both use battery packs, are they really worth the trouble? Will I not be able to use my own batteries if the pack happens to go dead?
Li-Ion battery packs are by far the cheapest way to power a camera. They can be re-charged virtually for free and are cheap to buy, about the cost of a couple of sets of AA batteries so carrying a spare or two is not going to break the bank. Pentax still use AA batteries on their entry level DSLR's, but even here your much better off using rechargeable, though they can use alkaline AA in a pinch, but they won't last anything like as long as a Eneloop rechargeable which they are designed to take. Q: I recently purchased an Xbox 360 and I got an extra controller as well its an Xbox brand Blue. I bought 2 Nyko charge kits (power kit, they are play and charge) as they were really cheap $10! I plugged one into the blue and one into the white controller, the blue one charges everything fine but the white one doesn't seem to do anything, when I plug in the cable the light on the cable flashes Orange once and then no light comes out of the LED (i assume orange is a mixture of the red and green together). If i switch the cable and or battery to the blue controller it charges fine, but switching the blue battery to the white controller does the same thing as before. Most of the time I can play with everything plugged in, or I can charge the battery in the blue controller and then use it on the white controller. Has anyone run into this problem? I have tried connecting it (as in wireless connection, and the charging cable) multiple times and nothing seems to charge w/ the white.
try the regular batteries in the White one and see if it works (batteries should come with the controllers)

Q: I just got an iPod dock - the Kicker IK501 - and realized that portable does not mean that it has a rechargeable battery. It uses a 22 volt DC adapter, so i am wondering if it is possible to buy a portable 22 volt battery pack so that i can use my dock without it being plugged into the wall. If there is such a thing, then please list a place where I can get one. Thanks so much!
22V is a bit of an unusual number, but modern stuff uses weird voltages. You may be able to find such a battery, but it would be costly. Contact Kicker and ask if it can operate on 24V; if so, you could use two inexpensive 12V batteries in series, or if a lower voltage would work acceptably (maybe 18V), you could use three 6V batteries in series. 14 D cells in series would provide 21.5V, which is close enough to 22V, but that's an awful lot of D cells.
Q: i just recently bought a M15 ( hk33e) both elephant airsoft rifle, a 9.6v battery pack was included. the battery pack itsself says (Ni-MH 2/3A1200mAh 9.6V) the charger says (input:120v 60hz 6.9woutput:9.6V 250Ma)so i havent the slightest idea how long it should be chargedplease help.
