- Q: i bought 2 gameware rechargable battery packs for my xbox 360 a year a go and they stopped working about 4 - 6 months ago, they only work when they are plugged in with the wire thats supposed to charge them but now there broke they wont charge they only turn on. there is no reason for them braking, or none that i know of. can somebody tell me whether the official microsoft rechargable battery packs do this aswell, because is they do i will buy some of them, but if they dont im not going to bother.
- Like any rechargeable battery over time they wont be able to keep a charge. The microsoft ones do the same thing . If you charge them to much they don't last as long . Mine last 2 years before it wore out . Its normal either buy a wired controller use the cord or just get use to buying new battery packs when they wear out if you want to have a wireless controller .

- It doesn't charge the controller. It only keeps the controller on while the batteries still have power. You can't use it if the battery is empty, even if they are rechargeable. The only batteries it recharges are the ones in the Play and Charge Kit.

- That's not really a question anyone can answer. When anyone, a company or otherwise tries to give battery life, the answer is always estimate, usually over estimated, and reflects optimum usage patterns etc. If you can find them, look for Sanyo AA Eneloops, which are superior, and hold their charge for a -long- time, whereas NiMH batteries lose 80% of charge after a month roughly.

- Battery packs have recently been messing up. The only thing i could tell you is to take it back to the store you got it from (with your reciept) and ask for a new one. (Battery packs arent that durable they last maybe a year then thats it.)

- Try it. If they are exactly the same yes. Canon changes battery pack shape from time to time because of the various configurations inside the camera. The voltage should be the same but the physical size and shape may be different. I have a Rebel XS and an eos t1i, they take the same battery but the 50 60, you'll have to read the specs or just try it.

- Could just be old. Sounds similar to the battery packs used in my construction tools, or even my computer/cell phone. When I bought my iPhone, I checked with a battery shop (Batteries Plus - national chain). They said most batteries are good for about 400 to 500 recharge cycles. Excessive heat or cold damages them. Take it to a Batteries Plus or similar battery specialty shop for testing. They can tell you what's going on, and probably sell you a replacement for less than most places. They've been much cheaper for batteries for my Paslode tools, and for the laptop PCs.
