Q: I don't understand why if there's this big worry with electric cars about range anxiety, is why they all don't just use the 85kwh batteries used on tesla cars to achieve around 300 miles of range. It would give EV's the kick start they need. If one were to pay big bucks could they have those types of batteries installed into say a leaf or a rav4 ev to get better range? Thanks!
Batteries are still very expensive, but I'm sure a small car could be designed that would give long range without the power of the Tesla. The issue is the even rather mundane cars like the Leaf are still very expensive for what they do, and increasing cost to give longer range isn't likely to sell any better. Just a comment about wireless transmission - people freak out when it is suggested that new power lines be run near their houses. I seriously doubt people could be convinced to drive near electric fields that were quadrillions of times greater than what you get from power lines. DK
Q: I'm building a circuit and I have no idea how electronics work. I want it to be roughly a 9 volt circuit. can i use a whole bunch of 1.5 volt rechargable batteries in series to get up to 9v or do i have to use a 9v battery?
Either way you will have 9 Volts. But the determinant as to which you use is the current needed by your project. Rule of thumb here: If your circuit draws less than 50 mA, then a 9V battery will do okay. If your circuit draws more than that, you are better going with the individual cells. You need to think of each battery as a battery with a series resistor in it (the resistance is a byproduct of how the battery is made). The 9V battery has a larger series resistance than 6 cells in series, so that when you load it heavily, the voltage will go way down.

If you have a regular batter pack, the pack in run by 2 double A batteries inside the pack. Look for 2 holes on the bottom of the battery pack. If you have a rechargeable one, you can tell if there is no place to put batteries, there should be a chord that plugs into the top of the xbox controller and into the controller port on the xbox

Sony reveal that psv only get up to 5 hours so to please customer, they announce that it will come with a external battery pack as a accessory, since psv internal battery can't be replace like you can on psp. it's just a battery pack you hook up to psv using the connector on the bottom. This should give you another 5 hours. If you still dont Know what it is. Think the external pack as a regular battery you put in remotes and flash light. Now put a connector from that battery to the psv. That's what it is basically, but in its own form. I suggest you get it because the psv will only last 5 hours. I will too. Let's just hope it's small enough to fit in pocket

You didn't get 1.2v battery. You received a battery pack made up of 1.2v sub-C cells wired in series Count the cells, if there's 7 1.2v cells then it's a 8.4v battery, if there's 8 1.2v cells, then it's a 9.6v battery.

No, the battery for the 1000 series cannot be used in a 2000 or 3000. On the very bottom of it (with the screen facing up and the shoulder buttons furthest away from you), you should see a barcode with the model number. If it says 1000 (or 1001 or something similar), you have a fat model. If it says 2000 or 3000, you have a Slim model. The 1000's battery doesn't fit in the 2000 and 3000's compartment. Sony does make replacement battery packs, however, as well as an Extended Life Battery Kit. If you use your PSP a lot, I really recommend getting the Extended Kit. It takes the normal battery life from 3-5 hours to 5-11. The only problem is it's bigger, and a bigger battery means a bigger cover. They only provide black and silver battery covers. It's not a huge problem, but it is there.

1.) I believe that you got the units wrong. mA is a unit of current, mAh is a unit of energy. Don't get the two confused. 2.) If you want to increase the duration of your plane, then what you need is a battery with a higher mAh capacity. mAh dictates the amount of energy the battery has. Thus the more energy the battery has(measured in mAh), the longer lasting your plane would be. Get a battery with a higher mAh and then your plane will last longer. However there is one thing that you must consider. Not that many battery companies post the mAh rating of the battery on the actual battery itself. Thus you may want to visit the companies website to find the exact battery specifications you need. 3.) The voltage rating of the battery must remain the same, or you risk damaging the internal electronics inside the circuit. Unless of course the circuit has a voltage regulator(Nowadays almost everyone uses a regulator). If the battery that you purchase is within tolerance I would def. use it as well. I would get any battery that has a higher maH rating and any voltage upto 10.6V. 4.) The current rating does not matter for the battery.

There are a few possible answers to what you might have done to your laptop to cause the battery to act like this. A. you spilled some liquid on it (maybe accidentally/unknowingly) b. your battery sucks (very unlikely( c. you overcharge your battery too much by leaving your laptop plugged in all the time even when it is at 100% power.
