Q:I recently purchased a rechargeable battery pack. It was manufactured two years back. Will this have any effect on its performance or recharge cycle? Thanks
I'm still using packs of rechargeable batteries that are over 5 years old It's more important that you know how to look after them when you start to use themdon't let them lie around without charging them or they will dieI use rechargeables in all my audio devices and my photography and video equipment and check them all regularly to make sure they haven't discharged - it's a nuisance sometimeswell worth it though.
Q:I have Rock Band drums that take 3 AA batteries and I don't want to waste batteries. Is there a way to make something that plugs into the wall and connects to the battery sockets (1.5 volt)?
I assume there's no external power connector on your drums (bad design in my opinion). There are some products in the market that do what you say, but they are specially made for specific devices such as professional flashes and cameras. The problem is that each battery compartment is different, and you also have a problem with the door. I think you're way better off by getting a good set of rechargeable batteries and a wall charger. Buy brand (Energizer, Sanyo, etc), you'll save money in the long run.
Q:I have a Dewalt battery pack (DW0242) for a sawsall that I want to rebuild/convert from nicd to nimh.
I doubt it. You would need to modify the device and charger to work with the battery.
Q:I just bought a Canon Rebel 300D off OKorder and it came with 2 of the rechargeable battery pack things. I've gone through both already tonight and haven't taken the life expectancy of 400 shots. I was wondering if you can use AA batteries in them?
AA's last much shorter even if they would fit, to which I highly doubt. You don't expect 400 shots as a standard. If you keep the LCD on most of the time like when viewing and reviewing your shots, you'll go much lower than 400 for sure. Then if the batteries are old, it goes down further.
Q:For some reason the battery works with a separate red controller i bought, but not with the one that came with the xbox. when i try to connect it, the green around the logo just spins and wont locate as player one. does anyone know if the controller that came with the xbox is compatible with the battery pack? what do u recommend i do?
never okorder
Q:I bought a Canon VIXIA HF R300 Camcorder a few months ago, and I noticed a message saying to change the battery pack almost as soon as I turned it on. I just decided to wait and see what that meant, since I didn't know why it would need it; I had literally just gotten the camera. Now when I turn on the video camera it says that message every time, and when I go to look at the videos I've recorded it pops up there too. When I'm recording the battery drains REALLY fast. Why is it doing this? How do I fix it?
Are you charging the battery according to the instructions in the manual? If so, you have a defective battery.
Q:for my labtop and xbox controllers the battery packs are not working. the work but even if u touch the bettery pack or anywere around it the device shuts off any help plz?
I do not really have an answer but i have experienced the same problem with my xbox controllers. If the controller is shaken at all, or touched in a certain spot, then it will say xbox controller disconnectedd so you have to push the battery pack back and continue on. The only thing ive done to try and fix the problem is using tape to tightly secure the battery pack against the controller, and for the most part, it works, but it can get annoying.
Q:I'm building a circuit and I have no idea how electronics work. I want it to be roughly a 9 volt circuit. can i use a whole bunch of 1.5 volt rechargable batteries in series to get up to 9v or do i have to use a 9v battery?
The barcode is the only important bit. The rest is safe to mark up.
Q:I'm considering the Sony DSC W80 digital camera. It contains the Sony's NP-BG1 recharableable Li-ion battery pack. I am glad it comes with a battery pack that lasts longer than a standard 2xAA but:1. What is the lifetime of such a battery pack? How many reuses can i get out of it? 2. Are such Li-ion batteries or specially this Sony pack decent? Should i purchase a second battery pack and leave it on the shelf for a year when the 1st pack dies?
I wouldn't bother buying a second battery at this stage, because the battery that comes supplied with it will allow up to 340 shots per charge (which is a lot more than what other batteries provide). I'm not sure of how many times a battery can be charged, but it would be quite a large number of times. However, the real downside to this battery, is that it takes a very long 4.5 hours to fully charge it. But, you CAN buy a 1.5 hour, fast charger (which is an extra and expensive cost). Another very clever marketing idea from Sony, of course. If I were you, I would just use the one battery and takes steps to conserve it's life by turning off the LCD screen in-between shots, limit how long you review your images, and also limit your use of the flash. You can also turn off the LCD and use the viewfinder instead to compose your shots. Doing this, will give you lots more battery life. And make sure you give the battery a top up charge as often as possible. You don't have to wait for the battery to fully drain before you re-charge it.
Q:I just bought a new xbox 360 controller with the rechargeable battery pack and cable. I charge the battery fully but it only holds its charge for about 30 min before it dies. I just bought this. It is brand new. Is this how long these things normally last while not plugged in?
They take 4 hours to charge. Make sure they are fully charged. If they are only holding 30 minutes, you may want to go return them as they sound defective.
