How to choose suitable inverter?

- the rate is normally 1/C - the inverse of the current capacity. 1 hour only if you have a Smart Charger and it can sense the heat generated by charging the battery. I recharge my 9.6v/4000mAh pack in 15 minutes, but I have a battery that is MADE for hot charges and my charger is made to push that much current into the battery.

- I have a Quantum power pack that has lasted me for 18 years. Its a workhorse of a pack and has gotten me through day long shoots without having to recharge. Whichever type you get, make sure you recharge it AS SOON as you are done using it. This will help the battery last a lot longer then if you leave it laying around half charged.

- No you shld by no means discharge lithium Ions battery Lithium Ions Batteries are risky demands power consistently to maintain stability (it has a microcomputer to change power) If u discharge Lithium Ion battery you will cut back the whole battery life basically nickel-cadium batteries require discharging

- It would help to know the model number of the camera you are using. Also, the battery's model number found on the sticker on the back of the battery. The newer ones, such as NB-4L and NB-5L have a slightly longer battery life, but either way they shouldn't be dead immediately after charging. I had this same problem when I bought a third party battery pack for my Canon SD550. The battery worked fine for a few weeks, but after a while it could barely hold any charge at all. I would recommend that you buy an official Canon battery pack (one that has Canon engraved into the battery itself). If this doesn't work, you may have a problem with your camera itself.

- You can try zapping the battery packs with a welder per the referenced URL. I've never done that personally but I've had quite good success zapping individual Ni-Cd batteries with an auto battery charger and it's worth a try. You definitely need a higher current and/or voltage source to successfully zap a battery pack with its array of series and parallel connected cells. If that doesn't work, if you're handy you can try rebuilding the battery pack by disassembling it and testing/replacing the bad individual Ni-Cd sub-C cells. There are several good sources online for detailed info on how to do that. I also happen to own a DeWalt cordless drill with 2 battery packs that are slowly going bad and that's what I plan to do when they finally fail. Replacement battery packs are ridiculously overpriced and are only a last resort. Good luck!
- Q: i bought the limited edition red controller that came with the play and charge kit thing mid to late last year. recently my 360 red ringed :( but i got it back a few weeks ago, but since i couldn't play it my battery pack just died inside of it (i thnk i only had 2 cells left in it). but i have been playing with it plugged in to the 360 like i did when i would charge it. everything else works fine, but i don't know if maybe a few months from now if i should buy a new battery pack, switch to using real batteries, or just keep doing what i've been doing for the last couple of weeks.
- All what you mentioned are options. You should buy a new Plug and charge kit, its gonna look crappy either whit or black but hey thats only cosmetic.
