Calcium Silicon Powder

1. Description:

Silicon Calcium Alloy is a stable compound; it is supplied in the form of solid with approximate melting point of 1245°C and boiling point 1800°C in normal atmospheric pressure.

Solubility in water reacts with moist gas and water.

Silicon Calcium Alloy is a potent deoxidizer and desulfurizer utilized in the production of high grade steels. Although Silicon itself is a powerful deoxidizer, Calcium is by far more powerful. In addition, Calcium Silicon is used to control the shape, size and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions improving fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties of the final product. Calcium Silicon can be obtained in lump or powder form. The most widely used method for intergraded steel applications is in the form of cored wire. This is mainly because calcium has a low density and high reactivity in the ladle making it difficult to introduce and retain in the melt. Cored wire eliminates these variables.

(1) Silicon calcium alloy is an ideal deoxidizer and desulfurizer.

(2) CaSi is generally used in manufacturing steel of high quality and low carbon, and the same as the production of stainless.

(3) CaSi is also served as a starting material for other special alloys, such as nickel base alloy and titanium base alloy.

(4) Silicon Calcium Alloy can also be used as the inoculant of cast iron and the additive in the production of nodular cast iron.

Q: Can you name some bands that are nu metal?: Metals are not usually referred to as corrosive. Metals are corroded by air, water or other materials. In the sense of corrodability, I think the activity series of metals would be what you may be looking for. Metals at the top are most susceptible to corrosion while those at the bottom are the least. Cesium is near the top and reacts rapidly with air or moisture. Gold is near the bottom and is highly resistant to strong oxidizing agents like nitric acid.

Q: Iv heard that most metal bands are actually christian in religion, but im just curious.: This would depend on the type of metal somewhat. In my experience, gorilla glue does not work real well with metal to metal as it is not porous. I have used it to glue metal to wood and it works well with sheets of non galvanized steel to non pressure treated wood. For small metal pieces, it would probably not work well as gorilla glue also expands alot, and is not flexible at all. What I would recommend if this is something decorative is to check into having it soldered, if looks aren't an issue and it has to bear a load check into having it welded.

Q: Mine HAS to be Brutal Death Metal, although I do enjoy some Tech Metal!: I am a huge Metal Gear fan so my answers are pretty simple 1) My favorite by far is big boss from Snake Eater, since he is the Original, and Solid is for the most part his clone I think that The Big Boss would win in a fight. 2) This is a hard choice between Metal Gear Solid for the ps1, and Metal Gear solid 3 for the ps2. They were both awesome games it's just hard to choose. 3) The Metal Gear movie is already in production and is set for a 2009 release last I heard, I think it will be really interesting to see what they do with it.

The best metals for patinas are copper based alloys. Brass is probably the worst, with bronze being the almost best. Copper would be the ultimate best. There may be some copper sheet at HD, or other hardware stores. You might try some roofing supply outfits, sometimes copper sheet is used as flashing on finer homes or historical restorations. As far as what chemical(s) to use, the application, and preservation of the finished patina is a whole 'nuther question. Finding the metal is the first step. Good luck
