Smelting process
There are two kinds of methods in smelting silicochromium---one-step method and two-step method. One-step method is also called slag method, two-step method is also called no-slag method. One-step is smelting Silicochromium by putting chrome ore, silica and coke into one furnace. The first step of two-step method is putting chrome ore and coke into the first furnace to produce high carbon ferrochrome, and in second step to put the crushed high carbon ferrochrome, silica, coke together into another furnace.
