- being a bearded dragon ownner myself prefer sand . i think it is the best because it is like there natural envirment and it is much easier to clean. for example it dosen't cake onto the cage and if your lizards poops you can get a sifter and easily get it out without fully cleaning the cage. Also it keeps very warm during the day(just the right temp. for the lizard) and when its cold (at night w/ out a light) It stays at about an average temp. plus they DO NOT need to dig they normally bask... hope i helped!!!!!!
