Q: how would you rate the quality of these mechines?: It is OK for small work, after you get going you my want to bump up to a Cat 330, or Hitachi 400

Q: We had to transplant a group of approx. 10 ft. tall Arbavida trees in July. It was all done with the use of a mechanical shovel (excavator). I'm wondering how long is it necessary to water them?: all the way to winter.... these first months, the little new feeder roots are pushing their way thru the soil , expanding their area to draw water and nutrients.... if the soil goes dry, it's very hard for the little things to push thru ... so the soil should remain moist to make it easier for them .... makes for a happier tree!....

Q: Crawler excavator would like to know the performance, price and maintenance of knowledge: For more information on excavators and more information on other engineering machinery, such as: bulldozers, road rollers, cranes and concrete spraying machine information.

Q: I want to consider digging a hole for the foundation of an addition with crawl space to my home. This hole would have to be at least 4 feet deep for the frost line and would have to be the perimeter of the addition so 40 or more feet depending on how big of an addition. My question is, what are my options for digging this monster hole?I know I can always do the shovel and pickax route. And I know I can rent a mini excavator for about $200 a day from stores. Does anyone have any other inexpensive ways or some creative ideas that I could use to make this job a little easier?: Find a local private party with a backhoe or bulldozer. He can do the job in a day. But what are you going to do with the dirt from the hole? Takes some planning to spread around that much dirt on the property, taking into account drainage and several other factors. if you want to grow something on it you will have to bring in topsoil. So figure 3 days for the bulldozer guy.

Q: How do I get my basement to stop flooding?: BEFORE YOU SPEND ANY MONEY - be sure rainwater does not pond adjacent to your foundation and your rain gutter downspouts dump their water well away from your foundation.

Q: How long approx will it take a new operator (I am going to get the feel for it first, just saying no prior expeirence) to dig this hole? (8ft deep)I am aware I have to shore it. I plan on building 2 plywood/2x4 walls across the long side of the hole and connect them across at the corners, then buildthe other 2 shorter walls and attach. Will this work good any sugestions?: If you are a first time operator, you CAN'T make a hole that size, regardless of how you attempt to shore it. Keep your cell phone handy so you can call for help from UNDER the excavator inside the hole.
