Any moisture barrier that is put down you will not be able to adhere the flooring down with..Now if your engineered flooring is made to float that is different..If not the only way to adhere engineered wood is to glue directly to the cement.. The glue in this case acts as your moisture barrier. Since most all glues( not all) used to adhere wood flooring is a non water based product and thus normal basement floors won t affect it..
