- Q:My year old Bissell vacuum is starting to not work so well. It has way less suction than it used to and it makes weird sounds. Our upstairs is all hardwood linoleum so all I'm using it for my crazy 6' X 9' rug in the living room. Maybe all that cat hair is extra hard on vacuums? I don't know why I can't find one that will last. The one I had before this was a Eureka and it still had suction, but the rotating brush in the front broke out after 3 years of use. And it was used in an all carpeted house. What I love about my vacuum most is the compartment in the front that lets me easily dump out the dust instead of having to change a bag. But how to I search through the various upright vacuum cleaners to find one that isn't going to die after a year? Some of them say they are designed for many years, but how do I know what is real in those advertisements? Can any of you tell me what you use and how long it has worked for you? Thanks.
- Have you checked the belt, looked for a clog somewhere? You do need to do maintenance on them now and then! You can take it to a vacuum repair shop too. If you really want a good vacuum, go to a vacuum repair shop or a vacuum cleaner dealer store. None of them at the discount stores are worth a darn! Find something with a metal fan blade, instead of plastic, and a commercial model would even be better. It will cost you more initially, but in the long run it will not need to be replaced for years!!! I cleaned houses for 14 yrs. 5 days a week 3-4 houses a day, using the same vacuum cleaner!!!
- Q:Combines the cyclonic suction of a Dyson but utilizes a bag?I've used Dyson's (never owned one) and they have tremendous suction power, but I absolutely HATE the bag-less containers because when I empty them the dust goes everywhere and eventually you have to clean the containers and those filters inside. If there isn't anything that combines the best of both worlds, what upright (bag using) vacuum do you recommend as the best for a single floor mid-sized house?I really desire something that can get up close against the edge of the carpet and the side-boards and has good consistent suction power.
- Dyson probably makes the best bagless vacuum available, closely followed by the Shark Navigator. I've never experienced mess issues with either of these vacuums while emptying them, however further use of the garbage can after the fact can stir the dust quite badly. For this reason I recommend emptying a bagless canister into a separate garbage bag, carefully folding the top over a few times, then putting that into your trash or directly into your refuse bin outside. Cheap knock-off bagless vacuums such as those made by Eureka don't work well to begin with and are horrendously messy to service. The pros of a bagless vacuum is that they do not hold odors like bag vacuums do, and they're easier to empty/service than most bag vacuums are. There are no bags to buy either, which depending on the brand you choose, can be quite expensive. Bag vacuums alleviate the dust issues, but still require the filters be serviced at regular intervals. Filter maintenance is part of vacuum ownership, as is cleaning the brush roll periodically to maintain optimal performance. The real downfall of bag vacuums is poor odor control, particularly if you have pets.
- Q:Why are cats generally terrified of Vacuum Cleaners?
- Probably cause vacuum cleaners are generally loud, and the noise scares them. Plus the vacuum cleaner's a lot larger than the cat, so it may be intimidating. Cats seem to get scared of a lot of things easily though,
- Q:which are the best vacuum cleaners?
- killed 3 dysons had a henry for the last 4 years and cant fault it for ?90,
- Q:My place only has one carpeted room, so it actually has very little to vaccum. I currently own a hand-me-down vacuum cleaner, but it's bulky so I end up not using because of convenience. Is there a cheap vacuum cleaner out there that could work for me, one that might even be good for hardwood floors?
- i have been using a bissell powerforce bagless i purchased at walmart for about 50 bucks. i am so impressed with this little 12 amp. cleaner. it really sucks . i've had many vacuum cleaners over the years from the best, most exspensive to the power brooms sold now days that are not worth the money to bring them home. for what i paid for my new one, i got a keeper.
- Q:I need one of these steam vacuum carpet cleaner as soon as possible, but i am not able to go shop local so can you please tell me where they can be found online
- rent one at the local store. walmart.. ace hardware etc........... a lot less expensive than buying and immrdiate use you wont have to wait for shipping
- Q:HOLA! i have one of those kirby vacuum cleaners. Unfortunately i'm out of filter bags or vacuum cleaner bags. I don't want to buy online so can someone tell me where i can buy them. Like walmart or sumthin. They have to be kirby bags, nto just any old vacuum cleaner bag. THANKS
- My mother's vac is a kirby, and I'm pretty sure she buys the bags at the vacuum store where she bought it. I don't know that I've ever seen them on store shelves other than the dealers.
- Q:Has anyone with pet allergies tryed the Hepa Air Cleaner? How well does it work?
- Has not anything in any respect to do with radiation. HEPA, I have no idea the distinctive terminology HOWEVER: High Efficiency Particles ----some thing. It relatively does use a prime voltage electric area to suck very tiny debris out of the air that passes by way of it. Some of the filters are simply filters. Others use prime voltage to energise a distinct filter out to Ionize the passing filth/spores, and many others., to get them out of the air. When searching for those matters cross to the Consumer Reports web page to uncover out which of them paintings and which of them are simply fakes!
- Q:The line graph shows the typical daily electricity demand in England during the winter and summer season, while the pie chart illustrates the different proportions of electricity used for the most frequent activities in an average English home.Comparing the two trends of electricity demand in the first graph, it is evident that during winter the electricity consumption doubles. Over the day, during either summer or winter, the lowest levels are recorded in the morning, between 8:00 a.m. and 9.00 p.m. Conversely, the peak hours are different between the two periods.
- try and write it like this: The line graph shows the typical daily electricity demand in England during the winter and summer season, while the pie chart illustrates the different proportions of electricity used for the most frequent activities in an average English home. Comparing the two trends of electricity demand in the first graph, it is evident that during winter the electricity consumption doubles. Over the day, during either summer or winter, the lowest levels are recorded in the morning, between 8:00 a.m. and 9.00 p.m. Conversely, the peak hours are different between the two periods. During the summer, electricity consumption peaks around 10:00 P.M; during winter the highest levels of demand are reached both in the afternoon at 4 p.m. and in the evening at 10:00 p.m. The pie chart shows that heating is by far the most electricity-consuming activity in an average English house (52.5 %). Clearly, this figure explains the reason why the electricity demand is higher during the small spans of time previously mentioned in the graph. The rest of the activities and devices used in the house, such as ovens, lighting and vacuum cleaners, use almost the same proportion of electricity, less than 16 %.
- Q:I'm looking for a vacuum that is less than $200, Upright, bagless, HEPA, can clean pet hair, and reliable/durable. If you know any other vaccuum brand that fits into ALL of my requirements above, feel free to tell me. I did some research and narrowed my list down to two. So my questions are:1. Which one should I buy? 2. What are the pros and cons between the two?
- Years ago vacuums were mostly metal, with plastic used sparingly, as in bumpers, trim, etc. Nowadays vacuums are 98 % plastic, with metal used sparingly, such as in the motor, wheel shafts, screws, etc. Bissell has traditionally used a cheaper plastic, similar to the stuff they used to make those cheapie little toys out of. It doesn't stand up to rough use very well, cracks easily and breaks. Eureka has been in the vacuum business longer and I feel, makes a moderately good product. I'm not aware of any Eureka u/r's that allow for agitator shut down while running. Panasonic makes an u/r with that feature, as does Riccar and Simplicity, all in the $300-$500 range. Bagless machines require more filters to catch the dirt that the bag normally stops, so require that you purchase filters regularly instead of bags. It's a trade off. Also, when you dump the dirt container there's always that little puff of dirt back into the air, which you can frequently bypass with a bag. Consumer Reports rates bagged units over bagless units, nearly every time. One of the best vac's for the money is the Hoover Windtunnel u/r. If you have trouble with your arms or wrists they are available in self-propelled models, if not get one without. They all have great suction and a good agitator system.
