Q: My husband was hurt on the job 2 days ago, which required emergency medical care and surgery. He came close to losing his entire hand in a meat grinder accident. The grinder was supposed to have a safety mechanism, where if you lifted the lid, the machine would cut off, but it was not working. I am guessing he will be receiving workman's comp. benefits, but is this safety malfunction grounds for a lawsuit? It looks like his hand will never be fully functional. I'm afraid his career as a meat cutter is over. He doesn't have any other trade that he can do and his age is a factor (58). I'm afraid that he will be unable to work sufficiently after this accident.
Ussually yes, you have one hell of a case. The company is expected and required to provide SAFE equipment. The exceptions are if your husband provides his own equipment, or if your husband is supposed to maintain the equipment, and failed to do so.Or if he failed to report defective equipment, If he knowingly used defective equipment it's his fault.
Q: Can anyone help me identify this logo/sign
not me
Q: You purchased a piece of machinery for $180,000. The machine's salvage value is $5,000 and its useful life span is 10 years. a) Using Straight Line Depreciation, what is the annual depreciation?b) Write an equation that relates Value to Time using the information given above.c) What would be the machine's value at the end of 6 years?d) What would be its value after 14 years?
a) (180,000 - 5,000) / 10 = $17,500 per year b) Value = Purchase Price - (Annual Depr. * Years in Service) Not sure if this is what you're looking for. c) 180,000 - (17,500 * 6) = $75,000 d) Anytime after 10 years, value will simply be Salvage Value ($5,000).
Q: Friction generates and causes wear in machinery, yet friction is often needed.please explain?
To explain the car breaks answer above so it makes sense -- when you apply the breaks, metal (or graphite, etc.) plates squeeze on a part of the wheel. There is friction involved, which is needed to slow and stop the wheel from turning. Without friction, it would just slip, and the wheel would never slow down. By the same token, over time that friction (and the heat caused by friction) will wear down the break pads, and they will need to be replaced. So -- this friction is both a good thing, and a bad thing!
Q: hoew do you start a waste paper recycling plant ? what are the machineries required?
the fee could rely on how large the plant replaced into. you are going to be able to desire to start with a bypass decrease paper shredder and a 5 gallon (19 liter) bucket and a water faucet. So it would desire to fee everywhere from approximately $one hundred to $a million.5 Billion, i assume. additionally the earnings could rely on the size and performance of the plant and the quantity and fee of hard paintings required.
Q: Dry ice feels like its dry when you hold it. It gives off what looks like a steam from the dryness.
Because this is the forum that it is, everyone can say what ever they choose,in some small way we all get to feel that our opinions are important and that other want to hear from us. Unfortunately in the real world what is said here means very little and the world will keep right on turning and most of us will soon be forgotten. If our children and their children's children survive, they are unlikely to care who was right or wrong on this forum. The only test here is,are you truly proud of the chooses and argument you are putting forth now.

Q: I'm trying to get a quote on shipping a heavy sand blaster from New York to Oregon, but I'm can't figure out what this freight class is that I'm being asked for. Thanks
I've okorder /
Q: Just wanted to know what do you do daily? And how long are you gone during deployments?
I'm guessing doing upkeep on machinery, fixing broken parts ect ect. As for deployments, usually six months every two/three years depending on what boat your assigned to. However, some do go out infrequently and for shorter periods of time(three months on three months off)
Q: one of stalin's acheivements was the creation of his elaborately bureaucratized administrative machinery based on the interlinking of the Communist Party, ministries, legislative bodies, trade unions, political police, and armed forces, and also on a host of other meshing control devices. What does this mean? thanks!
It means that Stalin's cronies were put in positions of power in such a way that his authority spanned (linked) across the administrative offices of government, as you cite, so that he essentially controlled the USSR as though he possessed the only key.
