Storage:

Can I use the same smart charger for the upgrade?: Usually there isn't reverse power protection with chargers because putting a diode between the charger and the batteries is the same as there not being a connection. That means if you put larger batteries in the charger it is like putting larger batteries in a portable radio or boom box. The charger might be able to handle it for awhile but I think the 12 volt difference would be too much.
