- Q:Sears just had a sale on vacuum cleaners and I got their progressive upright model 35923 with the quot;intelicleansystem. This is the one highly rated by Consumer Reports.I used it for a few days, and it seemed okay, except the inteliclean system would start acting weird after about 30 minutes of use. It would slip into the highest-power mode and get quot;stuckthere. Even on areas that it previously went over and sensed as clean. I could temporarlily fix it by switching out of carpet mode, then back in, but after a while it would get stuck again.Swapped it for another one, and the sales associate tells me to NOT USE the inteliclean system the first few times I vacuum. When I ask why, she says quot;I don't know what the reason is, we're just supposed to tell the customers thatquot;. Sounds pretty strange to me. There's nothing in the manual about it.Has anyone else gotten this advice from Sears regarding their inteliclean equipped vac? If so, what's the reason for it?
- take it back and get another vac. it has a problem, a friend has one and it doesnot do that, the sales man sounds like he knows nothing and cares less.
- Q:I have bought 4 vacuum cleaners in the past that all have fallen apart or just quit running right in the middle of using them, and all were less than 6 months old. I got tired of buying high price vacuum cleaners and them not lasting even 90 days. I have bought Hoover, Eureka, Dirt devil, and Phantom vacuums all of them turning out to be what I would say to be large rip offs.
- You get what you pay for with new vacuums. What you bought was not high-priced stuff except maybe the Hoover. A high-priced new vacuum could cost $2,000. Go find a good used one at a sales/service place. I have a Filter Queen about 30 years old that just got its first repair. A new motor, $150 installed. I expect it to last another 25 years now because there's hardly anything else to break on it. That vacuum has vacuumed massive amounts of pet hair in the 25 years I've owned it, and anything else except water that would fit through the hose. I just helped a friend of mine buy the same model, $200 with a new motor, 2 year warranty on the motor, a year on everything else.
- Q:I have long hair and it gets all over the carpet. The vacuum cleaner is meant to be a good strong one but it can't manage the hair. At best it will put it into clumps. I have to pick it up manually and it's very annoying. Why won't the vacuum cleaner work? Will another one work or am I doomed?
- its not your vacuum cleaners fault. its the fact that your hair sticks to the carpets fibre so well. i have this same problem and my vacuum isnt good enough to do the job. what i do, is a get a broom. it must be very strong and have strong brissles. dont use the pathetic soft broom. the broom i use, is kind of like a scribbing broom used to scrub tiles. so basically just use it like a vacuum cleaner, and it will pick up all that hair from your carpet :)
- Q:My Bissell finally died. I used to love Bissell but that was the worst vacuum I had ever bought. I am looking at canister vacuums now. I see the Kenmore has a high rating as well as the Electrolux and the Miele. I want something that will last and has low noise and cleans carpets wonderfully. Any knowledgeable vacuumers out there?
- I am not up to date with the new canister models, but have always liked the quality and quietness of the Electrolux models. If you get something like a Hoover upright, you can also buy one of those extra long extra flexible extension hoses and have the advantages of both a canister and an upright in one.
- Q:Someone knocks. You open the door. It's Jesus selling vacuum cleaners. Do you let him in for a demo?
- No cause his vacuums suck. Ya i'd let him in, then sneak a call to immigration, get him sent back to israel.
- Q:I had to try and use one as a stomach pump one night after some horrible seafood but it didn't work and it was unpleasant. Is there some sort of vacuum stomach pump attachment? I don't want to have this issue again. Help!
- Vacuum cleaners have suction that is way too powerful to use on internal organs. Didn't you see the 1000 Ways to Die episode where the idiot used a shop vac to perform his own liposuction and disemboweled himself and bled to death? Same principle. Besides, pumping the stomach would not help with food poisoning, which comes from bacteria or toxins in the food. By the time you use a pump, the bacteria or toxin is in the bloodstream and your vacuuming action is futile.
- Q:Why are vacuums so loud?
- Aww, did a vacuum wake you up, Frank? (Did you shoot it?). You'd think that since they can make silencers for smaller 'appliances', like hand guns, ; ) they'd have no problem making them for vacuum cleaners. Many of those industrial types can make an awful lot of noise, but you can get virtually silent ones for use in your homes, planes, yachts, limos etc. Have a servant or agent get a hold of one for you. 'Here's looking at you kid' Let's all do lunch!
- Q:My dog likes vacuum cleaners. Whenever I vacuum, he comes over and tries to chew on it. He doesn't really care that its a very strong one either. He doesn't even mind people vacuuming him on the back! He just sits there like he's being brushed. Anyone else have a vacuum loving dog?
- Haha! Yeah, my aunt's dog loves their vacuum, it's almost impossible to vacuum, he'll chase it around and bite it and even bark at it!
- Q:Hello,I am looking for best vacuum cleaner. I have both carpet hardwood floors in my home. Also a month old baby. Which ones are the best in terms of efficiency and low maintenance. whether it be the central vac, or the standard ? my budget is flexible as I know you get what you pay for. Thanks for your time.
- We use a Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus. It has a hepa filter and is bagless; it works great on our hardwood floors and carpeting AND our youngest has asthma and it doesn't bother her by kicking up the dust/pet dander.
- Q:Why would they make products that will break in a few years? Is this a good policy?
- cars vacuum cleaners appliances there are just too many to list They used to make products to last. Quality used to mean something in the make of a product. Now the policy isn't quality but quantity to keep the money rolling in. :-))
