Q: I have ceramic tile throughout home and in kitchen around one tile the grout or whatever the stuff is between the tile has crumbled and is getting bigger. Can i seal it myself, with what? or do i need to hire a stud to fix it?
Go to local hardware store and ask for grout repair.
Q: We are building a house and were thinking about installing a tiled shower, but I heard from a friend that they get dirty quickly and are very time consuming.
More time consuming than what? I wouldn't ever consider having a shower that wasn't tiled.
Q: How many pieces of a tiles are there in general?
Look at the specifications! General 600 * 600 4 pieces 800 * 800 3 pieces, some thick brick 2 pieces
Q: Home Depot discontinued this tile and I need more...
we okorder ,which show the product of our company
Q: We will be tiling a backsplash directly onto drywall after our countertops are installed. My question is -- what do I do about the electrical outlets in that area? The tile is about 1/4 inch thick -- and I want the outlets even with the tile (right?) After I tile around the outlet openings, then how do you make them flush when you put everything back together? For example, do I just pull the sockets out so that the screw brackets sit on top of the tile? If so, then do I need to drill screw holes through the tile? If so, then how do I make sure that the tile does not break or crack?
when you take the cover off there is that metal part the switch or the plug is on and there is little ears like that has a screw on the bottom and on top so you're going to unscrew those screws and you're tile should be cut to fit behind those ears you would need longer screws i use course Sheetrock screws when i do this 11/2 should work and when cut the tile around the plug just make sure you don't cover the hole where the screw would go in to that's all it'll be easy when you get the hang of it tile and flooring expert
Q: We are tiling our kitchen back splash with travertine tile/ tumbled marble tile.Should we seal the tile before it is on the wall or seal it after it is on the wall?Thank you.
You seal it afterwords.

Q: How to look at tile quality?
First listen to the sound the more brittle the better, followed by the water to see, the bubble the smaller the better.
Q: Sanding parquet floor tiles, advice please. My hall floor is covered in parquet tiles. The tiles themselves are made up on 1 inch by 5 inch sections, 5 to a tile. The tiles are laid so that the grain on the tiles is alternate and opposite its neighbour. So the grain on some go North-South, the next in line goes East-WestMy sander has a face larger than any one tile.Do I have to sand along the grain, in which case I‘d have to buy a tiny grinder, or can I just sand all over the tiles and not bother about sanding along the grain? Assuming I have sanded, how do I seal the completed job? Varnish?
First okorder / wood finish. It ain't cheap but you will be able to add new coats of finish later on without having to completely refinish the whole floor. You can rent a 'square sander' from Home Depot for abut $40 a day. It uses 4 six inch disk type sand paper. It doesn't dig in when started which allows a first time DIY person to do a good job. You move it around by putting pressure on the handle, real easy to use. Takes longer than a belt sander but you won't make mistakes. Make sure when you rent it that you get different size paper AND that they will stick (like velcro) to the sander unit face. You don't want to get home, start to use it and the sand paper disks fall off!! Had that happen with one. If you have a large floor to do rent the sander around 3 pm. You get 24 hours so you can sand from 3-11pm, go to bed, then start over in the morning. Otherwise you have to work from morning to evening. Makes for a long day.
Q: hello, this is my first tile and grout job, tiling is done now for grout. bought premixed grout, rubber float, sponge, started grouting last night, put grout on the float and applied to the tile. pushed it into the space between tiles, but it seems like alot fell off in the tub (its in the spaces between tiles) but is this normal for the grout to fall off the wall (i guess it would be considered excess?) but is that normal no sure how applying grout is suppose to look? i know i need to let it sit for 24hrs then do clean up then seal it when done. plz let me know if that grout falling in tub is normal or am i doing something wrong? ( grout is in the grout line though) just looks like alot is falling, or am i useing to much at one time? don‘t know? thx again for any info. mike
Just okorder / can be simply made with a piece of plywood and a dowel. Simply hold the hawk against the tile then slide the grout onto the wall. And just reuse any that fall into the tub. If you were not using a premixed I would say mix your grout a little soupier as the wetter stuff will stick better to the tile for a minute giving you a chance to spread it. In a word yes its normal........ The bigger mess, the harder your working!!
